Description

The present invention relates to an odds calculation device, an odds calculation method, and a recording medium.

Publicly run sports in which participants compete for position in a race and purchase betting tickets include horse racing, bicycle racing, boat racing, and auto racing.

In the method described in Patent Document 1, a subscriber to the automatic reservation betting service reserves the purchase of a betting ticket by inputting the betting period and the betting pattern of the betting ticket they wish to purchase into the pari-mutuel betting system. In the method described in Patent Document 1, the pari-mutuel betting system performs normal betting processing for the betting ticket based on the betting pattern from a predetermined time before the race betting management's deadline until the sales close. In this way, the pari-mutuel betting system automatically purchases betting tickets based on the betting pattern repeatedly during the betting period. In the method described in Patent Document 1, a purchaser reserves the purchase of a betting ticket in a situation where less information is available when purchasing a betting ticket than when purchasing at a normal time. Despite this, the conditions for purchasing a betting ticket when a purchaser reserves and purchases a betting ticket are the same as the conditions for purchasing a betting ticket when a purchaser purchases a betting ticket at a normal time.

Patent document 2 describes how a computer device calculates predicted rankings for participants in a specified race using a machine learning model that employs a neural network.

The method described in Patent Document 1 has the problem that betting tickets are sold to purchasers who purchase them in situations where there is little information available at the time of purchase under less favorable conditions than purchasers who purchase their tickets at normal times.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, one example of the objectives of the present invention is to provide an odds calculation device, an odds calculation method, and a recording medium that enable betting tickets to be sold under more favorable conditions to purchasers who purchase betting tickets in situations where little information is available when purchasing the tickets.

In one aspect of the present invention, the odds calculation device comprises a sales prediction means for predicting the sales of each betting ticket in a race to be held by a betting target, and an odds calculation means for calculating the odds of betting tickets to be sold a predetermined period of time beforehand based on the sales, and the odds calculation means calculates higher odds before the predetermined period than during the predetermined period.

In another aspect of the present invention, the odds calculation method predicts the sales of each betting ticket in a race to be held by the betting subject, calculates the odds of betting tickets to be sold a predetermined period of time beforehand based on the sales, and calculates higher odds for the predetermined period of time beforehand than for the predetermined period of time.

In another aspect of the present invention, an odds calculation program recorded on a computer-readable recording medium causes a computer to execute a sales forecasting process that predicts the sales of each betting ticket in a race to be held by a betting target, and an odds calculation process that calculates the odds of betting tickets to be sold a predetermined period of time beforehand based on sales, and in the odds calculation process, higher odds are calculated before the predetermined period of time than during the predetermined period of time.

The odds calculation device, odds calculation method, and recording medium of the present invention make it possible to sell betting tickets under more favorable conditions to purchasers who purchase betting tickets in situations where little information is available when purchasing the tickets.

[First embodiment]
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described. Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of an odds calculation device 1 of this embodiment. The odds calculation device 1 includes a sales forecasting unit 11 and an odds calculation unit 12.

The sales forecasting unit 11 is an example of a sales forecasting means. The sales forecasting unit 11 forecasts the sales of each betting ticket in races held for betting targets. The sales forecasting unit 11 may forecast sales of each betting ticket a predetermined period in advance, or may forecast sales for a predetermined period in advance and for a predetermined period in between. For example, the sales forecasting unit 11 forecasts sales of each betting ticket for different betting targets for each type of betting ticket (for example, in the case of horse racing, win, place, box, quinella, exacta, wide, trifecta, and exacta).

For example, the specified period is the normal sales period for betting tickets. For example, a betting ticket seller sells betting tickets before the specified period (in this example, before the normal sales period) and during a specified period (in this example, the normal sales period). The betting ticket seller gradually increases the amount of race information made public to betting ticket purchasers. In other words, purchasers who purchase betting tickets sold before the specified period purchase their tickets in a situation where they receive less information than they would during the specified period.

Next, an example of the operation of the odds calculation device 1 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Figure 2. Figure 2 is a flowchart showing an example of the operation of the odds calculation device 1.

The sales prediction unit 11 predicts the sales of each betting ticket in a race to be held by the betting target (step S101).

The odds calculation unit 12 calculates the odds of betting tickets being sold a predetermined period of time in advance based on the sales predicted in step S101 (step S102). In step S102, the odds calculation unit 12 calculates higher odds for the predetermined period of time in advance than for the predetermined period of time.

As explained above, for betting tickets sold by a seller prior to a predetermined period when more detailed race information is available, the odds calculation device 1 calculates higher odds than for the predetermined period based on predicted sales. This makes it possible to sell betting tickets under more favorable conditions to purchasers who purchase betting tickets when there is little information available at the time of purchase.

[Second embodiment]
The odds calculation device 2 in the second embodiment of the present invention will be specifically described. The odds calculation device 2 in this embodiment has the basic functions of the odds calculation device 1 in the first embodiment.

Figure 3 is a block diagram showing an example configuration of a system according to the second embodiment. The system includes an odds calculation device 2 and a terminal 3.

The configuration of the odds calculation device 2 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Figure 3. The odds calculation device 2 includes a sales forecasting unit 21 and an odds calculation unit 22. For example, the odds calculation device 2 is a server managed by a seller of betting tickets.

Sellers of betting tickets sell tickets in advance of a specified period and during a specified period. For example, sellers close sales of tickets for sale in advance of a specified period before disclosing the conditions of the betting targets on the day of the race. Sellers may also gradually release race information to purchasers in advance of a specified period and during a specified period. Purchasers who purchase tickets for sale in advance of a specified period purchase their tickets with less information available at the time of purchase than during the specified period. For example, in the case of horse racing, sellers sell tickets for an advance period from the announcement of the race entry list until the start of regular sales of pari-mutuel betting tickets for that race (e.g., on the day of sale or the day before, etc.). Furthermore, sellers sell tickets for a specified period from the start of regular sales of pari-mutuel betting tickets for that race until the close date and time of regular sales.

The sales forecasting unit 21 predicts the sales of each betting ticket in a race held by a betting target. In this embodiment, the sales forecasting unit 21 predicts the sales of betting tickets using AI (Artificial Intelligence). The sales forecasting unit 21 has a model generation function that generates a sales forecast model. A case in which the sales forecasting unit 21 predicts the sales of each betting ticket in a race held by a betting target a predetermined period in advance will be described in detail. Note that, as described below, the sales forecasting unit 21 may also predict sales a predetermined period in advance and during the predetermined period.

The sales forecasting unit 21 generates a sales forecasting model at a predetermined timing based on the learning data stored in the memory unit 24. The sales forecasting model is a model for predicting the sales of each betting ticket sold a predetermined period in advance for the race being predicted. The learning data includes, for example, sales data from a predetermined period in advance for each type of betting ticket for different betting targets in multiple races held in the past, and betting target identification information for the betting targets that competed in the race. The betting target identification information is information that can identify the betting target, such as the name of the betting target (for example, the name of the horse in the case of horse racing).

The sales forecasting unit 21 uses the generated sales forecasting model to predict the sales of each betting ticket sold a predetermined period in advance for the race being predicted. For example, the input to the sales forecasting model is the betting target identification information of the betting targets in the race being predicted. The output from the sales forecasting model is the sales of each betting ticket in the race being predicted a predetermined period in advance. In this way, the sales forecasting unit 21 predicts the sales of each betting ticket in the race being predicted a predetermined period in advance for each betting ticket that is of a different type and betting target.

The odds calculation unit 22 calculates the odds of betting tickets sold a predetermined period in advance based on sales. The process by which the odds calculation unit 22 calculates odds will be explained using horse racing as an example. The payout for winning betting tickets is the total payout amount divided proportionately by the face value of each betting ticket for the winning target. The total payout amount is calculated using a predetermined formula. For example, in the case of horse racing, the odds calculation unit 22 calculates the total payout amount using a formula such as (W + D/P) x R. W is the total face value of pari-mutuel betting tickets for the winning horse. D is the total face value of pari-mutuel betting tickets for horses that ran but are not the winning horse. P is the number of winning horses. R is the payout rate.

For example, when the odds calculation unit 22 calculates the total amount eligible for refund using the formula (W + D/P) × R, the odds calculation unit 22 uses as W the predicted sales of ballot tickets of the type and target ballots for which the odds are being calculated. The odds calculation unit 22 also uses as D the sum of the predicted sales of ballot tickets other than the type and target ballots for which the odds are being calculated. The odds calculation unit 22 calculates the total amount eligible for refund by substituting W, D, the number of target ballots P of the ballot ticket for which the odds are being calculated, and the payout rate R into the formula (W + D/P) × R. Next, the odds calculation unit 22 calculates the payout amount from the calculated total amount eligible for refund, and calculates odds, which are the multiplier of the payout amount relative to the purchase price of the ballot tickets.

Furthermore, the odds calculation unit 22 calculates higher odds for a predetermined period before (e.g., before the normal sales period) than for a predetermined period (in this example, the normal sales period). For example, the odds calculation unit 22 calculates odds for tickets sold before the predetermined period using a higher payout rate than for the predetermined period. Specifically, for example, if the payout rate for win tickets during the normal sales period is 80%, the seller of the ticket pre-sets the payout rate for win tickets before the normal sales period to 85%. As a result, the total amount to be paid out is higher before the predetermined period than before the predetermined period, and therefore the odds are higher before the predetermined period than during the predetermined period. Note that the payout rate for the predetermined period and the payout rate before the predetermined period can be set to any value by the seller of the ticket.

The configuration of terminal 3 in this embodiment will be described with reference to Figure 3. For example, terminal 3 is the terminal of a purchaser who purchases voting tickets that will be sold in advance of a predetermined period of time.

The input unit 31 accepts operations by the purchaser. For example, the input unit 31 is an input device such as a keyboard or touch panel. In response to the purchaser's operations, the input unit 31 requests odds from the odds calculation device 2 via the transmission/reception unit 32.

The transmission/reception unit 32 transmits a notification requesting odds to the odds calculation device 2 in response to a user's operation on the input unit 31. The transmission/reception unit 32 also receives information for displaying the odds on the display unit 34 of the terminal 3.

The display control unit 33 displays the odds on the display unit 34 of the terminal 3 based on information for displaying the odds on the display unit 34 of the terminal 3. The input unit 31 of the terminal 3 accepts the purchaser's operation (step S201). In response to the user's operation, the input unit 31 notifies the transmission/reception unit 32 to request odds. The transmission/reception unit 32 transmits a notification requesting odds to the odds calculation device 2 (step S202).

The transmitter/receiver unit 23 of the odds calculation device 2 receives a notification requesting odds from the terminal 3. The sales prediction unit 21 predicts the sales of each betting ticket in the race to be held for the betting target (step S203). The sales prediction unit 21 associates sales information indicating the predicted sales with information for identifying the contents of the betting ticket for which the sales are predicted, and inputs this information to the odds calculation unit 22. The odds calculation unit 22 calculates the odds of ballot tickets sold a predetermined period in advance based on sales (step S204). The odds calculation unit 22 associates odds information indicating the calculated odds with information for identifying the contents of the ballot ticket for which the odds were calculated, and inputs this information to the transmission/reception unit 23.

The transmitter/receiver unit 23 transmits information to terminal 3 to display the odds on the display unit 34 of terminal 3 (step S205).

Note that the odds may be available to anyone, not just the purchaser of the betting ticket. The sales forecasting unit 21 may also obtain data on the number of tickets sold a predetermined period prior to the start of a given period for each type of ballot ticket with different voting targets. When the sales prediction unit 21 predicts total sales, the learning data includes, for example, data on the total sales of each type of betting ticket for different betting targets in multiple races held in the past, and the betting target identification information of the betting targets that competed in the race. For example, the input to the sales prediction model is the betting target identification information of the betting targets in the race being predicted. The output from the sales prediction model is the total sales of each betting ticket in the race being predicted. As a result, when data on total sales for races held in the past is easy to collect, the odds calculation device 2 can calculate odds for betting tickets to be sold a predetermined period in advance using a sales prediction model that uses easily collectable total sales data as learning data.

The sales forecasting unit 21 may generate a sales forecasting model at a predetermined timing. For example, the predetermined timing may be when the odds calculation device 2 receives new learning data. Alternatively, the predetermined timing may be when a predetermined time has passed. A specific example of the case where the sales forecasting unit 21 generates a sales forecasting model at a predetermined timing will be described. The transmission/reception unit 23 receives learning data from a betting ticket vending device (not shown) that sells betting tickets each time sales of betting tickets for a predetermined period of time end. The transmission/reception unit 23 stores the received learning data in the memory unit 24. At the predetermined timing, the sales forecasting unit 21 generates a sales forecasting model based on the learning data stored in the memory unit 24. Furthermore, the transmission/reception unit 23 may receive learning data (e.g., data on the total sales of betting tickets for each type of betting ticket, for which the betting tickets have different betting targets, for races for which betting tickets have already been sold) from the betting ticket vending device each time sales of betting tickets for a predetermined period of time end. The sales forecasting unit 21 may display the predicted sales of each betting ticket sold a predetermined period in advance on a display unit (not shown) of the odds calculation device 2. The sales forecasting unit 21 may also display the predicted total sales of each betting ticket on a display unit of the odds calculation device 2.

The display control unit 33 of the terminal 3 may, during a predetermined period, display on the display unit 34 the odds of betting tickets sold prior to the predetermined period. This allows purchasers who purchase betting tickets during the predetermined period to purchase their tickets with reference to the odds of betting tickets sold prior to the predetermined period. For example, if the odds of a betting ticket sold prior to the predetermined period are higher than expected for a purchaser during the predetermined period, the purchaser may revise their prediction of how the race will unfold or reconsider the betting ticket to purchase. A betting ticket with high odds is an unpopular ticket, and purchasers generally consider it unlikely to win. The odds of a betting ticket sold prior to the predetermined period may be obtained from the odds calculation device 2 by the transceiver unit 32 of the terminal 3. Alternatively, the display control unit 33 may, during a predetermined period, display on the display unit 34 the odds of a betting ticket sold prior to the predetermined period, read from the memory unit (not shown) of the terminal 3. In this case, the display control unit 33 stores the odds information in the memory unit when it causes the display unit 34 to display the odds of the betting tickets to be sold a predetermined period of time in advance (in this example, step S206 in Figure 5).

In this embodiment, horse racing has been used as an example for specific explanation, but the competitions for which the odds calculation device 2 calculates odds are not limited to horse racing. The odds calculation device 2 may also be used to calculate odds for competitions such as bicycle racing, boat racing, or auto racing.

The odds calculation unit 22 may calculate odds for betting tickets sold a predetermined period in advance using a payout rate according to the degree of disclosure of race information. Figure 6 is a diagram illustrating an example of the disclosure of race information in the second embodiment. Referring to Figure 6, the types of race information, the timing of disclosure, and odds will be explained using horse racing as an example. In the example of Figure 6, the race information disclosed includes the racehorse's coat, gate number, horse number, horse weight after training, jockey, weather, scheduled entry, and training time. Note that race information is not limited to the information exemplified in Figure 6. In Figure 6, "◯" indicates that information has been disclosed, and "×" indicates that information has not been disclosed. Also, in Figure 6, "△" indicates that information has been disclosed but is uncertain. As shown in Figure 6, race information is gradually disclosed from Thursday to Sunday.

Figure 6 shows an example in which a ticket seller sells tickets for a race held on Sunday on Thursday and Friday a predetermined period in advance, sells tickets the day before on Saturday, and sells tickets on the day of the race on Sunday. The odds calculation unit 22 calculates odds for a predetermined period (Saturday and Sunday in Figure 6) using the payout rate for the predetermined period (for example, the payout rate for a win bet is preset to 80%). The odds calculation unit 22 calculates odds for tickets sold on Thursday ("Odds I of the Present Invention" in Figure 6) using a payout rate higher than that for a predetermined period (Saturday and Sunday in this example) and Friday (for example, the payout rate for a win bet is preset to 85%). The odds calculation unit 22 calculates odds for tickets to be sold on Friday (in FIG. 6, "odds II of the present invention") using a payout rate that is higher than that of a predetermined period and lower than that of Thursday (for example, the payout rate for a win bet is preset to 82%).

In this way, the odds calculation unit 22 may calculate odds using payout rates that are set in stages inversely proportional to the degree of disclosure of race information. In other words, the more race information is disclosed, the lower the payout rate used by the odds calculation unit 22 to calculate odds for betting tickets sold a predetermined period in advance. The memory unit 24 may pre-store, in association with each other, disclosure period information indicating the period for which race information is disclosed and payout rate information indicating the payout rate for each period. The odds calculation unit 22 may read payout rate information indicating the payout rate to be used in calculating odds from the memory unit 24 based on the disclosure period information and the current date, time, or day of the week, and use the read payout rate information to calculate odds.

[Modification of the second embodiment]
The odds calculation device 2a of this modified example includes a sales processing unit 25 and an acquisition unit 26. The odds calculation device 2a differs from the odds calculation device 2 of the second embodiment in that it includes the sales processing unit 25 and the acquisition unit 26. Fig. 7 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of a system of the modified example of the second embodiment.

In this modified example, the sales processing unit 25 of the odds calculation device 2a sells betting tickets a predetermined period before and during the predetermined period. The sales processing unit 25 is an example of a sales processing means. For example, the odds calculation device 2a sells betting tickets using a bookmaker system. If a betting ticket purchased by a purchaser before the predetermined period wins, the sales processing unit 25 makes a refund at higher odds than during the predetermined period. Specifically, if the betting ticket wins, the sales processing unit 25 makes a refund based on the odds at the time the purchaser purchased the betting ticket.

In response to an operation by the purchaser of a betting ticket, the input unit 31 of the terminal 3 inputs purchased betting ticket information, which is information used by the purchaser to purchase a betting ticket, and the purchaser's purchaser identification information to the transmission/reception unit 32. The transmission/reception unit 32 associates the purchased betting ticket information with the purchaser identification information and transmits them to the odds calculation device 2a. For example, the purchased betting ticket information includes information indicating the purchase price of the betting ticket, information indicating the type of betting ticket, and information indicating the betting target.

The acquisition unit 26 is an example of an acquisition means. The acquisition unit 26 has the functions of the transmission/reception unit 23 of the second embodiment. The acquisition unit 26 receives purchased betting ticket information and purchaser identification information. Information used for selling betting tickets, such as bank account information, is pre-stored in the memory unit 24 of the odds calculation device 2a, associated with purchaser identification information. Purchaser identification information is information that can identify a purchaser. The sales processing unit 25 sells betting tickets to purchasers based on the information used for selling betting tickets associated with the purchaser identification information of the purchaser and the purchased betting ticket information.

The odds calculation device 2a may receive purchased betting ticket information and sell betting tickets for each race. The odds calculation device 2a may also obtain information indicating the conditions for continued purchase from the terminal 3 and sell betting tickets based on the conditions for continued purchase for a period set by the purchaser. A detailed description will be given of the case where the odds calculation device 2a obtains information indicating the conditions for continued purchase from the terminal 3.

The acquisition unit 26 receives from the terminal 3 information indicating the period of the continuous purchase, information indicating the conditions for the continuous purchase, and purchaser identification information. The acquisition unit 26 acquires the information indicating the period of the continuous purchase by receiving it from the terminal 3. The sales processing unit 25 performs sales processing for ballot tickets that meet the conditions for the continuous purchase during the period indicated in the information indicating the period of the continuous purchase. For example, the conditions for the continuous purchase include the purchase amount, the timing of the purchase (for example, whether the ballot ticket is purchased during a specified period or before the specified period), conditions for identifying the target of the vote, etc.

By having the odds calculation device 2a perform the sales process for betting tickets that meet the conditions for continued purchase, it is possible to prevent purchasers who wish to continue purchasing betting tickets that meet specific conditions from forgetting to purchase the betting tickets.

[Hardware configuration example]
The procedures shown in the above-described embodiments can be realized by an odds calculation program that causes an information processing device (computer) that executes processing as an odds calculation device to execute processing as the device.

An example of the configuration of hardware resources for realizing each of the odds calculation devices (1, 2, 2a) in each of the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention using a single information processing device (computer) will be described. Note that the odds calculation device may be physically or functionally realized using at least two information processing devices. The odds calculation device may also be realized as a dedicated device. Furthermore, only some of the functions of the odds calculation device may be realized using an information processing device.

Figure 9 is a diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of an information processing device capable of realizing the odds calculation device of each embodiment of the present invention. The information processing device 4 includes a communication interface 41, an input/output interface 42, an arithmetic unit 43, a storage device 44, a non-volatile storage device 45, and a drive device 46.

For example, the sales forecasting unit 11 and odds calculation unit 12 of the odds calculation device 1 in Figure 1 can be realized by the calculation device 43.

The communication interface 41 is a communication means that allows the odds calculation device of each embodiment to communicate with an external device via a wired or/and wireless connection. Note that if the odds calculation device is realized using at least two information processing devices, these devices may be connected so that they can communicate with each other via the communication interface 41.

The input/output interface 42 is a man-machine interface such as a keyboard, which is an example of an input device, and a display, which is an output device.

The arithmetic unit 43 is realized by a general-purpose central processing unit (CPU) or a processing device such as a microprocessor, and multiple electrical circuits. The arithmetic unit 43 is capable of, for example, reading various programs stored in the non-volatile memory device 45 into the memory device 44 and executing processing in accordance with the read programs.

The storage device 44 is a memory device such as RAM (Random Access Memory) that can be accessed by the computing device 43, and stores programs, various data, etc. The storage device 44 may be a volatile memory device.

The non-volatile memory device 45 is a non-volatile memory device such as a ROM (Read Only Memory), flash memory, etc., and is capable of storing various programs, data, etc.

The drive device 46 is, for example, a device that processes reading and writing data from and to the recording medium 47 described below.

The recording medium 47 is any recording medium capable of recording data, such as an optical disk, a magneto-optical disk, or a semiconductor flash memory.

An embodiment of the present invention may, for example, constitute an odds calculation device using the information processing device 4 illustrated in Figure 9. An embodiment of the present invention may also be realized by supplying this odds calculation device with a program capable of realizing the functions described in the above embodiment.

In this case, the embodiment can be realized by having the arithmetic device 43 execute a program supplied to the odds calculation device. It is also possible for some, but not all, of the functions of the odds calculation device to be configured by the information processing device 4.
