Description
The present invention relates to a connecting structure for vertical roofs, roofing materials, and a method for forming vertical roofs.
Recently, a panel-shaped vertical roofing material has been proposed, as disclosed in Patent Document 1. This panel-shaped vertical roofing material can be connected by simply fitting the top and bottom seams at its widthwise ends into the bottom and top seams of another adjacent vertical roofing material.
The vertical roofing material disclosed in Patent Document 1 is configured so that the ridge-side ends of the bottom seam and top seam each have a reduced section that is one size smaller than the remaining section. The horizontal connections are made first, followed by horizontal connections one row at a time, until the installation toward the ridge is completed.
However, in the case of Patent Document 1, when connecting in the lateral (horizontal) direction, the reduced portion of the upper seam is fitted over the reduced portion of the lower seam, and at the next ridge-side step, the remaining portion of the lower seam is fitted over the upper seam, and at the next step, the remaining portion of the upper seam is fitted over the remaining portion of the lower seam.
In other words, the lower seam must be fitted over the (reduced) upper seam, which is slightly larger than the lower seam, and the reduced portion of the upper seam must be significantly smaller than the remaining portion, making the processing more difficult and it difficult to create a size with sufficient margin, making the fitting process also more difficult.
The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems by providing a connecting structure for vertical roofs, roofing materials, and a method for forming vertical roofs that allows roofing materials to be easily processed and allows roofing materials to be connected together with good workability.

The preferred embodiment of the present invention will be briefly explained below, illustrating its operation with reference to the drawings.
A vertically roofed roof is formed by fitting and connecting the roofing material of the present invention vertically and horizontally onto a roof substrate comprising a sheathing board and a moisture-permeable waterproof sheet, for example, in the following order (see Figure 4).
(1) Roofing material B is connected to the vertical ridge side of roofing material A so that the eave side end of the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B fits over the reduced portion 6 of roofing material A, and the enlarged portion 5 of the eave side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material B fits over the ridge side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material A. When connecting three or more roofing materials vertically, roofing material B' is similarly connected to the ridge side end of roofing material B.
(2) Next, roofing material C is attached to the horizontal side of roofing material A, and the top seam 2 of roofing material C is overlapped and connected to the eaves side ends of the bottom seams 3 of roofing material A and roofing material B.
(3) Next, roofing material D is placed on the horizontal side of roofing material B and on the vertical ridge side of roofing material C, with the top seam 2 of roofing material D fitted over the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B. Furthermore, as in (1) above, the eave side end of roofing material D is overlap-connected to the ridge side end of roofing material C. When connecting three or more roofing materials vertically, roofing material D' is similarly connected to the ridge side end of roofing material D.
Then, using roofing material C in (3) as roofing material A, repeat steps (2) and (3) until the entire roofing material is laid, forming a vertically thatched roof.
The overlapping area of the four roofing materials of the vertical roof constructed as described above is formed by stacking the reduced section 6, the remaining section 6' of the bottom seam 3, the remaining section 5' of the top seam 2, and the expanded section 5 in that order. This prevents the (smaller) bottom seam 3 from fitting over the (larger) top seam 2, allowing for a more generous shape, which in turn simplifies processing and improves workability when fitting and connecting the pieces together.
Specific examples of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
This example shows a connecting structure for a vertical roof, constructed by connecting vertical roofing panels on a roof substrate (not shown) in the direction of the roof's slope (vertical direction) and also connecting them horizontally, perpendicular to this slope, to cover the entire roof surface.
Specifically, each of the above roofing materials has the same structure and can be made from painted steel sheets, zinc-plated steel sheets, aluminum-zinc alloy-plated steel sheets, stainless steel sheets, etc., approximately 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm thick, bent or otherwise formed as appropriate.
In this embodiment, it is desirable to connect two or three roofing materials vertically. For example, rather than preparing panels of a fixed size as in Patent Document 1, the size of each roofing material is appropriately set to a length of approximately 2m to 7m and a width (working width) of approximately 300mm to 455mm. For example, the length can be set to approximately 2m to 3m, which can be transported by a small or medium-sized truck, and the configuration can be such that only the minimum number of connections are required vertically.
As shown in Figure 1, the roofing material has a rectangular plate-shaped main body 1 with a convex upper seam 2 on each of its left and right ends and a convex lower seam 3 fitted over the upper seam 2. The eaves-side end of the upper seam 2 has an enlarged section 5 that is wider than the remaining section 5', and the ridge-side end of the lower seam 3 has a reduced section 6 that is narrower than the remaining section 6'. In this example, the upper seam 2 is located on the right end and the lower seam 3 on the left end. The symbol 9 in the figure denotes a piece of roofing material that is placed on the outside of the lower seam 3 and is laid on the underside of the rectangular plate-shaped main body 1 of the adjacent roofing material.
The enlarged portion 5, the reduced portion 6, and the remaining portions 5' and 6' each have the same cross-sectional shape throughout their entire length. Tapered connecting portions may be provided between the enlarged portion 5 and the remaining portion 5', and between the reduced portion 6 and the remaining portion 6'. Figure 2 shows an enlarged view of the vicinity of the enlarged portion 5 and cross-sectional views of the enlarged portion 5 and the remaining portion 5'. Figure 3 shows an enlarged view of the vicinity of the reduced portion 6 and cross-sectional views of the reduced portion 6 and the remaining portion 6'.
The upper seam 2 (including the expanded portion 5) and the lower seam 3 (including the reduced portion 6) of the roofing material of this embodiment have inclined surfaces 7 on the left and right upper side surfaces that widen outward in the width direction as they go downward, and a folded portion 8 that folds back inward in the width direction is connected to the lower end of the inclined surfaces 7. In the figure, reference numeral 10 denotes a rising portion that rises from the center of the rectangular plate-shaped main body 1, and reference numeral 11 denotes a connecting portion with the installation piece 9.
Specifically, when the reduced portion 6, the remaining portion of the lower seam 3, the remaining portion of the upper seam 2, and the expanded portion 5 are fitted together in this order, the inclined surface portion 7 of the outer member abuts or comes close to the inclined surface portion 7 of the inner member, and the folded portion 8 of the outer member is prevented from coming loose by the folded portion 8 of the inner member.
The upper seam 2 is formed so that the flat top surface of the enlarged portion 5 is flush with the flat top surface of the remaining portion 5'. In other words, the enlarged portion 5 is slightly enlarged in the width direction from the remaining portion 5'. The reduced portion 6 of the lower seam 3 is slightly reduced in overall shape from the remaining portion 6'. The top surface of the reduced portion 6 is flat, and the top surface of the remaining portion 6' is approximately flat with a narrow groove in the center.
In the vertical direction, the expanded portion 5 of the upper seam 2 of the roofing material located on the ridge side is fitted and connected to the upper seam 2 of the roofing material located on the eaves side by its length, and the reduced portion 6 of the bottom seam 3 of the roofing material located on the eaves side is fitted and connected to the bottom seam 3 of the roofing material located on the ridge side by its length; and in the horizontal direction, the top seam 2 of one roofing material is fitted and connected to the bottom seam 3 of the other roofing material by its length.
Note that while the enlarged portion 5 and the reduced portion 6 are the same length, they may be different lengths. Furthermore, the enlarged portion 5 and the reduced portion 6 are set shorter than the remaining portions 5' and 6'. For example, the enlarged portion 5 and the reduced portion 6 are set to be approximately 10% to 20% of the total length of the upper seam 2 and the lower seam 3.
Figure 4 is an explanatory diagram of a single-ply roof, with the ridge side facing upward and the eaves side facing downward, constructed starting from the bottom right. In this example, the roofing material is laid from right to left with the top seam on the right and the bottom seam on the left, but it can also be laid from left to right with the bottom seam on the right and the top seam on the left. It can also be constructed in the opposite direction of the arrow in Figure 4, starting from the top left position.
In Figure 4, roofing materials are connected in order starting with roofing material A at the bottom right and following the arrows. Both vertical and horizontal connections require not only seam fitting, but also processes such as applying adhesives and waterproofing, but these are well known and will not be explained here.
(1) The ridge-side end of roofing material A is overlapped with the eave-side end of roofing material B adjacent to the ridge side of roofing material A, with the eave-side end of the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B fitted over the reduced portion 6 of roofing material A, and the expanded portion 5 of roofing material B fitted over the ridge-side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material A. In this example, three roofing materials are connected vertically, so roofing material B' on the ridge side of roofing material B is also connected to roofing material B in the same way as roofing materials A and B (Figures 5 and 6).
(2) Next, the top seam 2 of roofing material C, which is adjacent to the bottom seam 3 of roofing material A, is overlap-connected to the bottom seam 3 of roofing material A so that its ridge-side end fits over the eave-side end of the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B (Figure 6 → Figure 7).
(3) Next, roofing material D adjacent to roofing materials A, B, and C is overlap-connected so that the top seam 2 of roofing material D fits over the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B, and further, as in (1) above, the expanded portion 5 of the top seam 2 of roofing material D fits over the ridge-side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material C. In this example, three roofing materials are connected vertically, so roofing material D' on the ridge side of roofing material D is also connected in the same way as roofing materials A, B, C, and D (Figures 7 → 8).
Then, using roofing material C in (3) as roofing material A, repeat steps (2) and (3) until the entire roofing material is laid, forming a vertically thatched roof.
In the vertical roof formed in the manner described above, the area X where the four roofing materials overlap is as shown in the enlarged cross-sectional view of Figure 8.
Therefore, in this embodiment, the structure of the portion X where the four roofing materials arranged in a cross-shaped pattern overlap is as follows, and this structure is repeatedly provided.
(1) The ridge side end of roofing material A is overlapped with the eave side end of roofing material B, which is adjacent to the ridge side of roofing material A. The eave side end of the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B is fitted over the reduced portion 6 of roofing material A, and the expanded portion 5 of roofing material B is fitted over the ridge side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material A.
(2) The bottom seam 3 of roofing material A is overlapped with the top seam 2 of roofing material C, which is adjacent to the bottom seam 3 of roofing material A, with its ridge side end fitted over the lower end of the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B.
(3) With the expanded portion 5 of roofing material D adjacent to roofing materials A, B, and C fitted over the ridge side end of the top seam 2 of roofing material C, the top seam 2 of roofing material D is overlap-connected to the bottom seam 3 of roofing material B, and the eave side end of roofing material D is overlap-connected to the ridge side end of roofing material C.
Since this embodiment is configured as described above, the reduced section 6, the remaining section 6' of the lower seam 3, the remaining section 5' of the upper seam 2, and the expanded section 5 are layered in this order, so the lower seam 3 is not fitted over the upper seam 2. This allows for a generous shape setting, which makes processing easier and improves workability when fitting and connecting the sections together.
This embodiment is therefore easy to process, allowing roofing materials to be fitted together with good workability.
