Description
The present invention relates to a cover material attachment tool for attaching a cover material to a cushion material.
Conventionally, vehicle seats and chairs have often been equipped with cushioning material on the seat surface, backrest, and other areas that come into contact with the human body, and the surface of the cushioning material is covered with a skin material. Skin material attachment devices are known as a means for attaching the skin material to the cushioning material.
For example, the upholstery attachment device in Patent Document 1 is attached to one of the grooves of the upholstery or cushioning material and is locked to a locking member attached to the other groove of the upholstery or cushioning material. This upholstery attachment device has a pair of legs, and the insertion portion of the locking member is inserted between the pair of legs to lock the upholstery attachment device to the locking member. As a result, the upholstery material is attached to the cushioning material.
Generally, at the site where the covering material is attached, there is a demand for the use of pressing means such as an automatic machine to reduce the burden on the worker.
However, with the technology disclosed in Patent Document 1, when inserting the upholstery material attachment tool (or locking member) attached to the upholstery material into the groove of the cushion material, the upholstery material attachment tool (or locking member) is prone to tilting due to the influence of the shape of the cushion material, the tension applied to the upholstery material, etc. When using a pressing means such as an automatic machine, if the upholstery material attachment tool (or locking member) attached to the upholstery material is pressed while in a tilted position, the insertion portion of the locking member may not be inserted between the pair of legs of the upholstery material attachment tool, and the upholstery material may not be attached successfully.
The object of the present invention is to provide a skin material attachment tool that uses a pressing means to reliably attach a skin material.
(First Aspect)
A skin material attachment device according to a first aspect of the present invention is a skin material attachment device for attaching a skin material to a cushion material, and comprises: an attachment portion attached to one of the grooves of the skin material or the cushion material; and an inserted portion inserted by an insertion portion of a locking member attached to the other of the grooves of the skin material or the cushion material, the inserted portion comprising: a first leg portion and a second leg portion extending in one direction and facing each other; a connecting portion connecting base ends of the first leg portion and the second leg portion and connected to the attachment portion; a main engaging portion protruding from the first leg toward the second leg and engageable with the inserting portion; and a provisional engaging portion protruding from the first leg toward the second leg at a position closer to the tip of the first leg than the main engaging portion and engageable with the inserting portion.
In this configuration, the temporary engagement portion of the upholstery material attaching device engages with the locking member, temporarily maintaining the insertion portion of the locking member shallowly inserted between the first leg and the second leg. Then, by applying pressure to the upholstery material attaching device or the locking member using a pressing means such as an automatic machine, the insertion portion is inserted deeper between the first leg and the second leg, and the full engagement portion of the upholstery material attaching device can be engaged with the locking member.
(Fourth aspect)
In the upholstery material attachment tool according to any one of the first to third aspects of the present invention, it is preferable that the tip of the first leg bends toward the side opposite to the second leg, and that the provisional engagement guide surface is formed at the tip of the first leg.
According to this configuration, the provisional engagement guide surface for guiding the insertion portion can be secured widely in the width direction of the groove.
(Fifth aspect)
In the upholstery material attachment tool according to any one of the first to fourth aspects of the present invention, it is preferable that the attachment portion is attached to the upholstery material, and the connecting portion has a flat surface facing in a direction opposite to the direction in which the first leg portion and the second leg portion extend from the connecting portion.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
1, a cover material attaching tool 5 according to this embodiment constitutes a cover material attaching structure 1 for attaching a cover material 3 to a cushion material 2 that constitutes a vehicle seat or the like. That is, the cover material attaching structure 1 is composed of a locking member 4 that is attached to a groove 21 in the cushion material 2, and a cover material attaching tool 5 that is attached to the cover material 3. By locking the cover material attaching tool 5 to the locking member 4, the cover material 3 can be attached to the cushion material 2.
The cushion material 2 is a synthetic resin urethane foam material such as polyurethane foam molded into the shape of the seat. The cushion material 2 has a groove 21 formed therein in which the upholstery mounting structure 1 is placed. The groove 21 has a first groove wall surface 211 and a second groove wall surface 212 that face each other, and extends in any direction on the surface of the cushion material 2 while forming an opening 21A on one side of the cushion material 2 in the vertical direction.
The cover material 3 is a sheet that covers the surface of the cushion material 2, and is, for example, a synthetic resin fabric sheet. The edge portions 31 of the cover material 3 are attached to the cover material attachment fixture 5 by sewing or the like. In Figure 1, the edge portions 31 of two cover materials 3 are attached to the cover material attachment fixture 5.
In the following explanation of the configuration of the upholstery material mounting structure 1, the three axial directions X, Y, and Z are used based on the state in which the upholstery material mounting fixture 5 is engaged with the engaging member 4 (fully engaged state) (see Figures 1 and 5). For example, the length direction of the upholstery material mounting structure 1 is defined as the X direction, the left-right direction of the upholstery material mounting structure 1 as the Y direction, and the up-down direction of the upholstery material mounting structure 1 as the Z direction. Note that when the upholstery material 3 is installed on the cushion material 2 using the upholstery material mounting structure 1 (see Figure 1), the X direction corresponds to the length direction of the groove 21 in the cushion material 2, the Y direction corresponds to the width direction of the groove 21, and the Z direction corresponds to the depth direction of the groove 21. For ease of explanation, the direction toward one side (upward) in the Z direction is defined as the +Z direction, and the direction toward the other side (downward) in the Z direction is defined as the -Z direction, with the groove 21 opening in the cushion material 2 in the +Z direction.

The insertion portion 42 includes a wall portion 421 that extends in the +Z direction from the base portion 41 and is disposed along the XZ plane, and a bulge portion 422 that is provided at the tip of the wall portion 421 on the +Z side.
A recess 423 extending in the X direction is formed on each side surface of the wall portion 421 in an area adjacent to the expanded portion 422 .
The swelling portion 422 has an upward anchor shape that protrudes from the wall portion 421 on both sides in the Y direction. Specifically, the swelling portion 422 has a pair of engaged surfaces 424 facing in the −Z direction, a pair of inclined surfaces 425 facing in the +Z direction, and a pair of end surfaces 426 connecting the engaged surfaces 424 and the inclined surfaces 425. The pair of inclined surfaces 425 are inclined with respect to the Z direction so as to face outward in the Y direction and on the +Z side.
The skin material attachment fixture 5 is a molded product made of a thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene. The skin material attachment fixture 5 includes an attachment portion 51 that is attached to the skin material 3, and an insertion portion 52 that is inserted by the insertion portion 42 of the locking member 4.
The mounting portion 51 has a plate shape that is arranged, for example, along the XZ plane. In this embodiment, the edge portions 31 of two skin materials 3 are placed on the mounting surface 511 facing the -Y side of the mounting portion 51, and the mounting portion 51 and the edge portions 31 of the skin materials 3 are sewn together.
The inserted portion 52 includes a first leg portion 521 and a second leg portion 522 that face each other in the Y direction with a gap between them, a connecting portion 53 that connects the base ends 521R, 522R of the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522 and is connected to the mounting portion 51, and a full engagement portion 54 and a provisional engagement portion 55 provided on the first leg portion 521.
The first leg 521 and the second leg 522 each extend in the -Z direction from the connecting portion 53. That is, the base ends 521R and 522R of the first leg 521 and the second leg 522 are connected to the connecting portion 53.
The first leg portion 521 has an inner surface 521A that faces inward in the Y direction on the +Z side of the full engagement portion 54. This inner surface 521A has a planar shape that is disposed along the Z direction. The full engagement portion 54 and the provisional engagement portion 55 each protrude inward in the Y direction from the inner surface 521A.
The second leg portion 522 has an inner surface 522A facing inward in the Y direction. This inner surface 522A has a planar shape that is disposed along the Z direction. The inner surface 522A of the second leg portion 522 faces the inner surface 521A of the first leg portion 521 in the Y direction.

The connecting portion 53 extends along the Y direction. The +Y side end 531 of the connecting portion 53 is connected to the mounting portion 51 and also to the first leg portion 521. As a result, in this embodiment, the mounting portion 51 and the first leg portion 521 are formed so that they are continuous in the Z direction. Meanwhile, the -Y side end 532 of the connecting portion 53 is connected to the second leg portion 522. The connecting portion 53 also has a flat surface 533 that faces the opposite direction to the direction in which the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522 extend from the connecting portion 53, i.e., facing the -Z side.
FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the full engagement portion 54 and the provisional engagement portion 55. As shown in FIG.

Specifically, the full-engagement portion 54 has full-engagement guide surfaces 541 facing the tip side (-Z direction) of the first leg 521 and the second leg 522 side (-Y direction), and a full-engagement surface 542 facing the base end side (+Z direction) of the first leg 521. The full-engagement surface 542 is preferably disposed along the XY plane.
The provisional engagement portion 55 protrudes from the tip 521F of the first leg 521 toward the second leg 522. Specifically, the provisional engagement portion 55 has provisional engagement guide surfaces 551 facing the tip side (-Z direction) of the first leg 521 and the second leg 522 side (-Y direction), and a provisional engagement surface 552 facing the base end side (+Z direction) of the first leg 521. The provisional engagement surface 552 is inclined with respect to the XY plane so that it is positioned lower as it moves inward in the Y direction.
In this embodiment, an accommodation space S1 capable of accommodating the swelling portion 422 of the locking member 4 is formed between the main engagement portion 54 and the connecting portion 53 and between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522. Here, it is preferable that the Z-direction dimension H1 of the accommodation space S1 is equal to or greater than the Z-direction dimension H2 of the swelling portion 422. It is also preferable that the Y-direction dimension D1 of the gap between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522 that sandwich the accommodation space S1 is equal to the maximum Y-direction dimension D2 of the swelling portion 422 (see FIG. 1 ).
As shown in FIG. 2, a space S2 is formed between the provisional engagement surface 552 and the full engagement guide surface 541 so that a portion of one side of the enlarged portion 422 in the Y direction can enter therein.
In this embodiment, the protruding tip of the full engagement portion 54 is located closer to the second leg portion 522 (inward in the Y direction) than the protruding tip of the temporary engagement portion 55. This ensures that the Y direction dimension of the full engagement surface 542 is large. Specifically, the Y direction dimension D3 of the full engagement surface 542 is larger than the Y direction dimension D4 of the temporary engagement surface 552.
In this embodiment, the arrangement angles of the full-engagement guide surface 541 and the provisional-engagement guide surface 551 are different. Specifically, the inclination angle θ1 of the full-engagement guide surface 541 relative to the XZ plane is smaller than the inclination angle θ2 of the provisional-engagement guide surface 551 relative to the XZ plane. Here, because the tip 521F of the first leg 521 is bent outward in the Y direction, a large dimension in the Y direction is ensured for the provisional-engagement guide surface 551.
The locking members 4 and the upholstery material attaching fixtures 5 described above are each formed continuously along the X direction, and the length dimensions of the locking members 4 and the upholstery material attaching fixtures 5 in the X direction are set appropriately.
Although not shown, a plurality of upholstery material attachment devices 5 may be attached at predetermined intervals to the edge portion 31 of the upholstery material 3. In this case, a plurality of locking members 4 may be provided at predetermined intervals in the groove 21 of the cushion material 2 along the length direction of the groove 21, and corresponding locking members 4 and upholstery material attachment devices 5 may engage with each other.
(How to attach the cover material)
A method for attaching the cover material 3 using the cover material attachment structure 1 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 3 to 5. Note that in Figures 3 to 5, for the sake of simplicity, the cover material 3 is not shown, and the basic outline of the groove 21 in the cushion material 2 is shown by a two-dot chain line.
First, the worker prepares the upholstery material attachment tool 5 with the upholstery material 3 attached and the cushion material 2 with the locking member 4 attached in the groove 21, and places the upholstery material 3 so that it covers the cushion material 2. Then, the worker inserts the upholstery material attachment tool 5 into the groove 21 of the cushion material 2, as shown in Figure 3.
When the upholstery material attachment tool 5 is inserted into the groove 21, the upholstery material attachment tool 5 approaches the locking member 4 in a tilted state relative to its locked position with the locking member 4 due to factors such as the shape of the cushion material 2 and the tension applied to the upholstery material 3. Specifically, the upholstery material attachment tool 5 approaches the locking member 4 with the extension directions of the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522 tilted relative to the depth direction of the groove 21. When the upholstery material attachment tool 5 approaches the locking member 4 in this manner, the provisional engagement guide surface 551 of the first leg portion 521 and the inclined surface 523 of the second leg portion 522 each press against the inclined surface 425 of the locking member 4. The bulge 422 of the locking member 4 is then guided toward the gap between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522. At this time, any portion of the first leg portion 521 or the connecting portion 53 elastically deforms, causing the bulge portion 422 to climb over the temporary engagement portion 55. As a result, as shown in Figure 4, a portion of the +Y side of the bulge portion 422 enters the space S2 between the main engagement guide surface 541 and the temporary engagement surface 552.
4 , the temporary engagement surface 552 of the upholstery material attaching tool 5 abuts against the bulging portion 422 (specifically, the edge of the engaged surface 424) of the locking member 4, thereby temporarily engaging the upholstery material attaching tool 5 with the locking member 4. This makes it possible to temporarily maintain the state in which the insertion portion 42 of the locking member 4 is shallowly inserted between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522.
During the provisional engagement, the worker may adjust the posture of the skin material fastener 5 as shown by the imaginary lines in Fig. 5. This positions the flat surface 533 of the skin material fastener 5 along the ZY plane.
Next, the pressing part (not shown) of the automatic machine is positioned above the groove 21 of the cushioning material 2. The automatic machine then lowers the pressing part toward the groove 21, thereby applying pressure to the cover material attachment tool 5. The automatic machine can lower the pressing part using any drive mechanism, such as a cylinder.
When pressure is applied to the upholstery material attachment device 5 in the state shown by the solid lines in Figure 4 or the virtual lines in Figure 5, the inclined surface 425 of the locking member 4 presses against the full-engagement guide surface 541 of the first leg portion 521, and the bulging portion 422 of the locking member 4 is guided toward the storage space S1 of the inserted portion 52. At this time, any portion of the first leg portion 521 or the connecting portion 53 elastically deforms, causing the bulging portion 422 to overcome the full-engagement portion 54. As a result, as shown by the solid lines in Figure 5, the bulging portion 422 enters the storage space S1, and the full-engagement portion 54 enters the recess 423 of the locking member 4.
5, the insertion portion 42 is inserted deeper between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522, and the full engagement surface 542 abuts against the enlarged portion 422 (specifically, the engaged surface 424). As a result, the upholstery material attaching tool 5 is fully engaged with the locking member 4, i.e., is locked by the locking member 4.
In the final engagement, the contact area of the final engagement surface 542 with the engaged surface 424 is larger than the contact area of the temporary engagement surface 552 with the engaged surface 424 during the temporary engagement. This allows the upholstery material attachment tool 5 to be securely held by the locking member 4.
As described above, the cover material mounting structure 1 can mount the cover material 3 to the cushion material 2 .
In addition, when a plurality of skin material fasteners 5 are attached to the edge portion 31 of the skin material 3, some of the plurality of skin material fasteners 5 may be provisionally engaged before all of the skin material fasteners 5 are fully engaged.
(Effects of this embodiment)
As described above, the upholstery material attaching tool 5 in this embodiment is provisionally engaged with the locking member 4, thereby temporarily maintaining a state in which the insertion portion 42 of the locking member 4 is shallowly inserted between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522. Thereafter, by applying pressure to the upholstery material attaching tool 5 using a pressing means such as an automatic machine, the insertion portion 42 is inserted more deeply between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522, and the upholstery material attaching tool 5 can be fully engaged with the locking member 4. Thus, in this embodiment, the upholstery material 3 can be reliably attached using the pressing means.
In this embodiment, the force required for temporary engagement is smaller than the force required for permanent engagement, for example, because the temporary engagement portion 55 is located closer to the tip of the first leg portion 521 than the permanent engagement portion 54. Therefore, the temporary engagement is performed by the worker, and the pressing means of the automatic machine or the like performs the permanent engagement, thereby reducing the burden on the worker involved in attaching the skin material 3.
In this embodiment, the main engagement portion 54 has a main engagement guide surface 541 that is inclined with respect to the extension direction (Z direction) of the first leg portion 521 so as to face the tip side (-Z side) of the first leg portion 521, and a main engagement surface 542 that faces the base side (+Z side) of the first leg portion 521 and can engage with the insertion portion 42, and the main engagement surface 542 forms a storage space S1 between the connecting portion 53 and the main engagement surface 542 in which the insertion portion 42 is arranged.
In this configuration, the full-engagement guide surface 541 can guide the provisionally engaged insertion portion 42 into the accommodation space S1, and the full-engagement surface 542 can abut against the insertion portion 42 accommodated in the accommodation space S1. This allows for proper full engagement.
In this embodiment, the temporary engagement portion 55 has a temporary engagement guide surface 551 that is inclined with respect to the extension direction (Z direction) of the first leg portion 521 so as to face the tip side (-Z side) of the first leg portion 521, and a temporary engagement surface 552 that faces the base side (+Z side) of the first leg portion 521 and can engage with the insertion portion 42, and the temporary engagement surface 552 forms a space S2 between the temporary engagement surface 552 and the main engagement portion 54 into which part of the insertion portion 42 can enter.
In this configuration, the provisional engagement guide surface 551 can guide the insertion portion 42 toward the gap between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522, and the provisional engagement surface 552 can abut against the insertion portion 42 inserted into the gap between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522. This allows for suitable provisional engagement.
In this embodiment, the full engagement guide surface 541 of the full engagement portion 54 can guide the insertion portion 42 disposed in the space S2, so that the transition from provisional engagement to full engagement can be made smoothly.
In this embodiment, the tip 521F of the first leg 521 is bent toward the opposite side from the second leg 522 (outward in the Y direction), and the provisional engagement guide surface 551 is formed on the tip 521F of the first leg 521.
With this configuration, the provisional engagement guide surface 551 for guiding the insertion portion 42 can be secured widely in the Y direction.
In this embodiment, the connecting portion 53 has a flat surface 533 that faces in the direction opposite to the direction in which the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522 extend from the connecting portion 53 (the +Z side).
In this configuration, when the skin material attachment fixture 5 is provisionally engaged, the flat surface 533 can be positioned so as to face the opening 21A of the groove 21, and therefore pressure in the Z direction can be suitably applied to the flat surface 533 by a pressing means such as an automatic machine.
In this embodiment, the first leg portion 521 and the attachment portion 51 are both connected to an end portion 531 on the +Y side of the connecting portion 53 .
With this configuration, the flat surface 533 of the connecting portion 53 can be secured to be wider.
In this embodiment, the second leg 522 has an inner surface 522A facing the first leg 521 and arranged along the extension direction (Z direction) of the second leg 522, and an inclined surface 523 facing the first leg 521 and the tip side of the second leg 522 and formed continuously with the inner surface 522A.
In this configuration, the second leg 522, unlike the first leg 521, does not have a protruding shape such as the full engagement portion 54 or the provisional engagement portion 55. This reduces unnecessary interference from the second leg 522 to the locking member 4, particularly when the upholstery material attaching device 5 is tilted from the locked position with the locking member 4, and provisional engagement can be performed reliably.
(Modification)
The upholstery material mounting structure 1 of the above embodiment includes the locking member 4 attached to the groove 21 of the cushion material 2 and the upholstery material mounting fixture 5 attached to the upholstery material 3, but the present invention is not limited to this.
6, for example, a cover material mounting structure 1A according to a modified example may include a cover material mounting fixture 5A mounted in a groove 21 of the cushion material 2, and a locking member 4A mounted to the cover material 3. In such a modified example, the locking member 4A may not include the base 41 of the first embodiment, and the edge portion 31 of the cover material 3 may be attached to the wall portion 421 by sewing or the like. Furthermore, the cover material mounting fixture 5A may include mounting portions 51A extending from the connecting portion 53 on both sides in the Y direction, instead of the mounting portion 51 of the first embodiment. Each mounting portion 51A may be attached to the cushion material 2 by being embedded in the bottom of the groove 21 of the cushion material 2.
The method for attaching a skin material according to a modified example shown in Figure 6 is substantially the same as the method for attaching a skin material according to the above embodiment, except that the positional relationship between the locking member 4A and the skin material attaching tool 5A is reversed from that of the above embodiment. That is, the skin material attaching tool 5A according to the modified example can be provisionally and permanently engaged with the locking member 4, as in the above embodiment. Note that Figure 6 shows the state in which the skin material attaching tool 5A is provisionally engaged with the locking member 4A.
In the above embodiment, the second leg 522 does not have a full engagement portion 54 or a provisional engagement portion 55, but the present invention is not limited to this. That is, the first leg 521 and the second leg 522 may each have a full engagement portion 54 and a provisional engagement portion 55. Note that the full engagement portion 54 and provisional engagement portion 55 provided on the second leg 522 may have a configuration that is the left-right reverse of the full engagement portion 54 and provisional engagement portion 55 provided on the first leg 521. When provisional engagement is performed in such a modified example, the provisional engagement portion 55 on at least one of the first leg 521 or the second leg 522 may engage with the insertion portion 42.
In the above embodiment, the attachment portion 51 and the first leg portion 521 are formed so as to be continuous in the Z direction, but the present invention is not limited to this. That is, in the above embodiment, the connection position of the attachment portion 51 with respect to the inserted portion 52 can be changed as desired.
For example, as shown in FIG. 7, in a skin material attachment tool 5B of a modified skin material attachment structure 1B, the attachment portion 51 may be connected to the −Y side end 532 of the connecting portion 53, so that the attachment portion 51 and the second leg portion 522 are continuous in the Z direction.
Alternatively, the attachment portion 51 may be connected to the intermediate portion between the first leg portion 521 and the second leg portion 522, that is, the intermediate portion of the connecting portion 53 in the Y direction.
In these modified examples, the same method of attaching the skin material as in the above embodiment can be carried out.
Regarding the upholstery material attachment tool 5 in the above embodiment, other detailed shapes than those described above may be changed. For example, the connecting portion 53 may not have a flat surface 533, the main engagement portion 54 may not have a main engagement guide surface 541, and the provisional engagement portion 55 may not have a provisional engagement surface 552.
In the above embodiment, a case where a plurality of skin material fasteners 5 are attached to the edge portion 31 of the skin material 3 has been described, but the skin material fasteners 5 are not limited to such an example of use.
For example, a skin material fastener 5 having a certain degree of dimension in the X direction may be attached to the edge portion 31 of the skin material 3. In this case, a part of the X direction range of the skin material fastener 5 may be provisionally engaged.
