Description

The present invention relates to a wind and flood damage prevention structure for protecting various protected objects from wind and flood damage.

Conventionally, when indoors (above the floor) are flooded or houses collapse due to tsunamis or floods caused by typhoons, heavy rain, earthquakes, etc., not only household goods but also various vehicles can be submerged or washed away, resulting in soiling or damage, making them unusable. For example, Patent Document 1 proposes a waterproof car storage bag that prevents water from entering the interior of a vehicle by storing the entire vehicle in a bag made of waterproof material, ensuring the functionality of the vehicle's equipment and preventing damage. Patent Document 2 proposes a waterproof car cover made of waterproof fabric in a box shape large enough to fit a vehicle, with the middle and ends fastened with rope. Patent Document 3 proposes a flood prevention item for vehicles, consisting of a bag made of waterproof and durable sheet material large enough to completely cover the entire vehicle and a set of ties to close the bag's opening. Patent Document 4 proposes a method for preventing a vehicle from becoming submerged in water, in which the vehicle is placed on an airtight sheet that is larger than the shape of the vehicle's bottom, both sides and the front and rear of the sheet are folded upward to fit along the sides and front and rear of the vehicle, and the periphery of the sheet is supported on the periphery of the vehicle by appropriate means. Patent Document 5 discloses a water inundation prevention device for a vehicle that includes a sheet member that can be laid under a vehicle and has a loading area for the vehicle to be placed on and a peripheral area outside the loading area, and flotation members that are attached to the peripheral edge of the sheet member and float on water to move the peripheral area upward above the bottom of the vehicle.

However, in the structures described in Patent Documents 1 to 3, in which the entire vehicle is covered with a waterproof bag (cover), the vehicle must be moved into the bag with the top or side of the bag open, and then the opening must be closed. In particular, when the top of the bag is open, the entire periphery of the bag must be lifted to a position higher than the vehicle's ceiling and closed in the center of the vehicle, which requires manpower and effort, and depending on the vehicle's size, scaffolding such as a stepladder may be required, resulting in a lack of workability. Even when the side of the bag is open, multiple people must lift the periphery of the bag, form a box-like shape (forming a space), and then move the vehicle into the bag through the side opening, which requires manpower and effort. Furthermore, when the side of the bag is open, as described in Patent Document 3, the work can be performed by one person by tying the periphery of the bag to the beams of a carport or the like with a string, lifting the periphery of the bag, and then moving the vehicle into the bag through the side opening while it is formed into a box-like shape (forming a space). However, in order to lift the periphery of the bag to a position higher than the vehicle's ceiling, scaffolding such as a stepladder is required. In addition, after the vehicle has been moved into the bag, the strings holding up the outer periphery of the bag must be removed in order to close the opening, which is extremely time-consuming.Furthermore, in all of Patent Documents 1 to 3, the opening is closed by tying it with a string, but this does not provide sufficient waterproofing, and there is a risk of water seeping in through the opening.
In Patent Document 4, the edges of a sheet placed under a vehicle are connected with a belt or attached to the vehicle's periphery with double-sided adhesive tape, etc., to support the edges of the sheet against the vehicle's periphery, thereby covering the bottom and part of the outer periphery (lower side) of the vehicle with the sheet. However, because the top of the vehicle is open, water may seep in between the top of the sheet and the vehicle, ultimately resulting in submersion. In response to this issue, Patent Document 4 covers the lower part of the vehicle with the sheet and then covers the outside (top) of the sheet with a conventional vehicle body cover, allowing rainwater and the like to flow off the surface of the body cover to the outside of the sheet, preventing it from penetrating into the sheet. In other words, Patent Document 4 prevents water from seeping into the vehicle by combining a sheet that wraps the lower part of the vehicle with a body cover that covers the upper part, which results in problems such as a large number of parts and tedious installation.
In Patent Document 5, when flooded, the peripheral area of the sheet member rises as the floating member floats, thereby forming a waterproof wall around the vehicle to protect the vehicle from flooding, eliminating the need to fasten the peripheral area of the sheet member to the vehicle, etc., which simplifies the installation work. However, since it is necessary to inflate the floating member by injecting gas before use, there is a problem in that it takes time to prepare for use.
Furthermore, although Patent Documents 1 to 5 all aim to protect vehicles from flooding, damage caused by wind and water damage during typhoons, tsunamis, floods, etc. is not limited to vehicles (automobiles); various objects to be protected, such as motorcycles, bicycles, agricultural machinery and equipment, agricultural crops, various materials or products, etc., need to be protected from wind and water damage.
The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a wind and water damage prevention structure with excellent workability that can be easily installed in a short time when a typhoon, tsunami, flood, etc. occurs, and that can protect objects to be protected from wind and water damage.

Next, with reference to the accompanying drawings, embodiments embodying the present invention will be described to aid in understanding the present invention.
A wind and flood damage prevention structure 10 according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG.
1 and 2 protects from wind and water damage an object to be protected (here, a vehicle) 13 housed in a storage space 12 equipped with at least a roof 11. In addition to vehicles, the object to be protected 13 in this wind and water damage prevention structure 10 includes, but is not limited to, motorcycles, bicycles, agricultural machinery and equipment, agricultural crops, various materials or products, etc.

The wind and water damage prevention structure 10 comprises a waterproof cover 17 having a bottom protection portion 15 on which the protected object 13 stored in the storage space 12 is placed, and an outer periphery protection portion 16 connected to the bottom protection portion 15 and covering the outer periphery of the protected object 13, and a lifting member 20 having one longitudinal side connected to the upper end side of the outer periphery protection portion 16 of the waterproof cover 17 and the other longitudinal side connected to a horizontal pipe (an example of a fixed structure) 19 of a pipe garage (an example of a garage) 18 installed in the storage space 12, for lifting and fixing the upper end side of the outer periphery protection portion 16.
The dimensions of the bottom protection part 15 and the outer periphery protection part 16 are appropriately selected depending on the dimensions of the protected object 13. The height of the outer periphery protection part 16 preferably covers the entire height of the protected object 13, but may be selected depending on the expected water level during flooding and the height of the protected object 13. For example, if the protected object 13 is a large special vehicle or the like whose height exceeds the expected water level during flooding, the height of the outer periphery protection part 16 does not need to cover the entire height of the protected object 13; it is sufficient if it is approximately the same as the expected water level during flooding. Furthermore, when lifting the outer periphery protection part 16 with the lifting member 20 and connecting it to the horizontal pipe 19, it is preferable that the work be within the reach of the worker without using scaffolding such as a stepladder. Therefore, the height of the outer periphery protection part 16 is preferably approximately 1 to 1.5 m, but is not limited to this range.

The waterproof cover 17 may be formed from a single sheet (of uniform thickness), but if the object to be protected 13 is heavy, it is preferable that the sheet thickness of the bottom protection portion 15, to which the weight of the object to be protected 13 is added, be made thicker than the sheet thickness of the outer peripheral protection portion 16.
Furthermore, when the protected object 13 is a vehicle, at least the area of the bottom protection part 15 that comes into contact with each tire may be further reinforced with a reinforcing sheet to prevent damage. For example, it is preferable that the sheet thickness of the bottom protection part 15 is about 0.3 to 1.2 mm, the sheet thickness of the outer periphery protection part 16 is about 0.2 to 1 mm, and the sheet thickness of the reinforcing sheet is about 0.3 to 0.5 mm, but the thicknesses of each sheet are not limited to these and may be selected as appropriate.

Each part of the waterproof cover 17 does not have to be made of the same material; each part may be made of a different material, and may be made of a single layer or multiple layers. For example, a reinforcing sheet may be laminated to the area of the base sheet corresponding to the bottom protective part 15, so that the sheet thickness of the bottom protective part 15 is thicker than the sheet thickness of the outer peripheral protective part 16. In this case, the base sheet and the reinforcing sheet may be made of the same or different materials. The waterproof cover 17 may also be formed by joining together sheets of different thicknesses for the bottom protective part 15 and the outer peripheral protective part 16. When the waterproof cover 17 is formed by joining multiple sheets together, the airtightness and watertightness of the joints are ensured by welding or adhesive bonding.

The specific material for each part of the waterproof cover 17 is preferably a synthetic fiber base fabric such as polyamide or polyester, laminated (coated) with vinyl chloride resin, but is not limited to these and can be selected as appropriate. For example, instead of vinyl chloride resin, rubber such as chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, ethylene propylene diene rubber, chloroprene rubber, or natural rubber may be laminated to the base fabric. These materials may be used alone or may be laminated with sheets made of other materials. The outer peripheral protection part 16 may have a stretchy sheet such as a polyurethane sheet or vinyl chloride resin sheet laminated on the surface that will be on the inside during use. The waterproof cover 17 may be pre-formed into a box shape, or it may be formed into a sheet (flat) and then folded upward with the portion that will become the outer peripheral protection part 16 during use.

The waterproof cover 17 is provided with a connecting means 22 on the upper peripheral edge of the outer periphery protective portion 16 to which one longitudinal side of the lifting member 20 is connected, thereby enabling quick and easy connection to the lifting member 20. The connecting means 22 may be any connecting means capable of connecting to the lifting member 20, and its configuration (structure) may be appropriately selected depending on the combination with the lifting member 20 (connection method, etc.). The connecting means 22 may be formed with an eyelet on the outer periphery protective portion 16 as shown in FIG. 1, or may have a hook or a lifting ring attached. If the connecting means 22 is an eyelet or a lifting ring, the end of the lifting member 20 may be directly fastened to the connecting means 22. Alternatively, a hook may be attached to the end of the lifting member 20 to hook it onto the connecting means 22 for easy connection. If the connecting means 22 is a hook, the end of the lifting member 20 may be easily connected by forming a loop or attaching a ring to it in advance. The lifting member 20 may be, for example, a rope, wire, chain, or rubber cord (band or belt), among which rubber cord is preferably used, but is not limited to these. When the lifting member 20 is a rubber cord, even if an external force such as wind is applied to the waterproof cover 17, the lifting member 20 expands and contracts, preventing the external force from being directly transmitted to the horizontal pipe 19, and preventing damage to the waterproof cover 17 and the lifting member 20 or deformation of the horizontal pipe 19.
It is not necessary for all of the lifting members 20 to be made of the same material, and different types (materials) of members may be used depending on, for example, the installation location, etc. The number and arrangement of the connecting means 22 are selected appropriately depending on the size of the object to be protected 13, etc.

In this embodiment, the pipe garage 18 is structured to support an awning (sheet fabric) 25 using a framework of horizontal pipes 19, vertical pipes (support pipes) 23, and arch pipes 24. Therefore, the horizontal pipe 19 is a constituent member of the pipe garage 18. By using this horizontal pipe 19 as a fixed structure, the waterproof cover 17 and the pipe garage 18 can be integrated via the lifting member 20. As a result, the protected object 13 can function as a weight, preventing scattering even in a simple pipe garage 18. When connecting the other longitudinal side of the lifting member 20 to the horizontal pipe 19, similar to when connecting one longitudinal side of the lifting member 20 to the outer peripheral protection portion 16 (connection means 22) of the waterproof cover 17, it may be tied directly or using a hook, hanging ring, etc. For example, a hook previously attached to the other longitudinal side of the lifting member 20 can be hooked directly onto the horizontal pipe 19, or a hook or hanging ring attached to the other longitudinal side of the lifting member 20 can be hooked onto a hanging ring or hook attached to the horizontal pipe 19.

Depending on the specifications of the pipe garage 18, the existing horizontal pipe 19 may not be positioned at a height suitable for lifting the outer periphery protection section 16, so a horizontal auxiliary pipe (not shown) may be added as necessary. The horizontal auxiliary pipe is attached to connect adjacent vertical pipes (support pipes) 23 of the pipe garage 18. The horizontal auxiliary pipe is connected to the lifting member 20 to lift the outer periphery protection section 16 and reinforce the pipe garage 18.

The wind and flood damage prevention structure 10 is equipped with reinforcing support members 26 that are positioned (horizontally, perpendicular to the horizontal pipe 19) along the upper end of the outer periphery protection portion 16 of the waterproof cover 17 at both longitudinal ends of the pipe garage 18 (front and rear of the pipe garage 18) and are held by the horizontal pipe 19. While there are no fixed structures that can be connected to the lifting members 20 at both longitudinal ends of the pipe garage 18, by attaching the reinforcing support members 26 to connect the front ends and rear ends of the left and right horizontal pipes 19, respectively, and connecting the upper ends of the outer periphery protection portion 16 to the reinforcing support members 26 with the lifting members 20, the outer periphery protection portion 16 can be securely lifted and fixed without slackening. The method of connecting the horizontal pipes 19 and the reinforcing support members 26 can be selected appropriately.

The procedure involves moving the object to be protected 13 onto the bottom protective portion 15 of the waterproof cover 17 placed inside the pipe garage 18, connecting the left and right outer periphery protective portions 16 to the horizontal pipe 19 with lifting members 20, then connecting the horizontal pipe 19 to the reinforcing support member 26, and then connecting the front and rear outer periphery protective portions 16 to the reinforcing support member 26 with the lifting members 20, thereby enabling smooth operation. Alternatively, the front and rear outer periphery protective portions 16 and the reinforcing support member 26 may be first connected with the lifting members 20, and then the horizontal pipe 19 and the reinforcing support member 26 may be connected. Alternatively, instead of connecting the front and rear outer periphery protective portions 16 to the reinforcing support member 26 with the lifting members 20, a cylindrical insertion portion (not shown) may be formed along the length of the front and rear outer periphery protective portions 16, and the reinforcing support member 26, which serves as the core, may be inserted into the insertion portion. The outer periphery protective portion 16 can then be easily lifted by simply securing both ends of the reinforcing support member 26 to the horizontal pipe 19 with hooks or the like. The material of the reinforcing support member 26 may be a metal such as aluminum, or a synthetic resin such as polycarbonate or polypropylene.

Next, a wind and flood damage prevention structure 10A according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 3. Note that the same components as those in the first embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals and will not be described again.
The wind and flood damage prevention structure 10A differs from the wind and flood damage prevention structure 10 in that, instead of the pipe garage 18, a garage 29 is installed in the storage space 12, with the roof 11 supported at the four corners by pillars 28. In this case, the four pillars 28 and two horizontal members 30 on the left and right that connect adjacent pillars 28 in the front and rear are the components of the garage 29. By using these pillars 28 and horizontal members 30 as fixed structures, a waterproof cover 17 can be installed as in the first embodiment, and the protected object 13 can be protected from wind and flood damage. The horizontal members 30 may be existing ones, or may be added later as needed.
In this embodiment, garage 29 has only a parking space for one vehicle, but the present invention can also be applied when the garage is large and can accommodate two or more vehicles. A structure in which the bottoms and peripheries of multiple vehicles are covered collectively with a single waterproof cover 17 is preferred, but a structure in which each vehicle is covered individually with a waterproof cover 17 may also be used. When the garage is large and the waterproof covers are large, or when multiple waterproof covers are installed in one garage, support members (not shown), such as auxiliary columns, may be installed as fixed structures at key points in storage space 12 as needed to reliably support the periphery protective portions of the waterproof covers.

Next, a wind and flood damage prevention structure 10B according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Note that the same components as those in the first and second embodiments are designated by the same reference numerals and will not be described again.
The wind and flood damage prevention structure 10B differs from the wind and flood damage prevention structure 10 in that, instead of the pipe garage 18, a cantilevered carport (an example of a garage) 31 is installed in the storage space 12. The carport 31 is supported on one side of the roof 11 by two columns 28. In this case, the two columns 28 and a horizontal member 30 connecting adjacent columns 28 at the front and rear constitute the components of the carport 31. However, this alone is insufficient to reliably support the outer periphery protective portion 16 of the waterproof cover 17. Therefore, a support member 32 is installed as a fixed structure, independent of the carport 31. In this embodiment, the support member 32 is constructed by connecting two support columns 33 installed at positions of the four corners of the roof 11 that are not supported by columns 28 (here, two positions at the front and rear on the right side when viewed from the front) with a horizontal support member 34. By using these struts 28, horizontal members 30, and support members 32 (horizontal support members 34) as fixed structures, the waterproof cover 17 can be installed in the same way as in the first and second embodiments, and the protected object 13 can be protected from wind and water damage. The shape, number, and arrangement of the fixed structures that are installed independently of an existing garage, warehouse, etc. can be selected appropriately. Furthermore, the horizontal members 30 may be existing ones, or may be ones that are added later as needed.

Next, a wind and flood damage prevention structure 10C according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Note that components similar to those in the first to third embodiments are given the same reference numerals and will not be described again.
The wind and flood damage prevention structure 10C differs from the wind and flood damage prevention structure 10 in that a warehouse 35 is installed in the storage space 12 instead of the pipe garage 18, and products placed on pallets 36 are stored inside the warehouse 35 as the object to be protected 13A. In this case, horizontal members 30 installed along the side walls 37 are components of the warehouse 35. By using these horizontal members 30 as fixed structures, it is possible to install waterproof covers 17 as in the first to third embodiments and protect the object to be protected 13A from wind and flood damage (mainly flooding). The horizontal members 30 may be existing ones, or may be added later as needed.

The above describes an embodiment of the present invention, but the present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the above embodiment, and also includes other embodiments and modifications that are possible within the scope of the matters described in the claims.
For example, the components of a garage or warehouse used as a fixed structure include not only pillars and horizontal members but also braces, walls, etc. By attaching connectors such as hooks or lifting rings to desired positions on the wall, lifting members can be easily connected, eliminating the need to add horizontal members such as horizontal auxiliary pipes, and providing excellent workability.
The storage location and method for the waterproof cover can be selected as appropriate, but if it is normally stored in or near the storage space, installation work can begin in a short time. Furthermore, if the waterproof cover is stored folded or rolled up with one side of the outer periphery protective part of the waterproof cover connected to the fixed structure with a lifting member, installation time can be shortened.
Furthermore, even if the storage space does not have a roof, the same effects and advantages as those of the present invention can be obtained by installing a waterproof cover as in the above embodiment and separately attaching an upper cover such as a sheet that covers the object to be protected and the top of the waterproof cover.
