Description

The present invention relates to a hair styling composition suitable for use in hair styling products.

There are a variety of styling properties that can be exhibited by hair styling compositions used to style hair. For example, styling properties include the ability to hold hair together (e.g., tightly hold hair together), give hair a bundled look (management ability), set hair, make hair stand up, keep the hairstyle in place for a long time, impart shine to hair, and improve the smoothness of hair strands to give them a smooth feel.

Hair styling compositions are designed to exhibit one or more of the above-mentioned hair styling properties depending on the desired hair styling style, target hair type, etc. Hair styling compositions also come in a variety of forms, such as liquid, gel, and grease, and each form of hair styling composition has different usability, feel, and hair styling properties. Furthermore, different formulations are designed for hair styling compositions with different properties.

Among hair styling compositions, grease-like hair styling compositions (so-called hair greases and hair pomades) have no fluidity or have lower fluidity than gel-like hair styling compositions, and are solid or paste-like. For this reason, grease-like hair styling compositions can be filled into a jar or the like and used by simply taking an appropriate amount with one's fingers from the container, making them easy to handle. Examples of such grease-like hair styling compositions include oily grease-like hair styling compositions using liquid oil and solid oil, grease-like hair styling compositions containing polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil and a polyhydric alcohol, aqueous grease-like hair styling compositions containing a large amount of a polyhydric alcohol and highly thickened with a thickener (see, for example, Patent Document 1), and aqueous grease-like hair styling compositions containing water and a film-forming polymer and highly thickened with a thickener (see, for example, Patent Document 2).

Grease-like hair styling compositions generally have the property of imparting shine to hair. However, with conventional grease-like hair styling compositions containing polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil and polyhydric alcohol, it is difficult to increase the hair-standing styling power or increase the feel of hair strands while maintaining the property of imparting shine to hair.

In conventional grease-like hair styling compositions containing polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil and polyhydric alcohol, it has been thought that a film-forming polymer could be added to enhance the styling power of hair lift. However, simply adding a film-forming polymer reduces the adhesive strength between strands of hair due to the film formed by the film-forming polymer, resulting in a decrease in the styling power of hair lift and a decrease in the ability to form hair bundles (hair bundle-forming power).

As such, it is difficult for conventional grease-like hair styling compositions containing polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil and polyhydric alcohol to achieve all three of the following effects: imparting good shine to hair, increasing the styling power that lifts the hair, and increasing the ability to form hair bundles (hair bundle-forming power).

The object of the present invention is to provide a hair styling composition that can impart good shine to hair and enhance the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle forming power.

The present invention provides a hair styling composition comprising the following components (A), (B), and (C), wherein the content of component (A) is 20.0% by mass or more and 55.0% by mass or less, the content of component (B) is 0.1% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less, and the content of component (C) is 5.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less.

Component (A): Polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide added of 10 or more; Component (B): Oil agent in a paste form at 25°C and/or nonionic surfactant in a paste form at 25°C with an HLB value of 5 or less; Component (C): Polyhydric alcohol

The present invention provides a hair styling composition comprising the following components (A), (BX), and (C), wherein the content of component (A) is 20.0% by mass or more and 55.0% by mass or less, the content of component (BX) is 0.1% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less, and the content of component (C) is 5.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less.

Component (A): Polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 10 or more. Component (BX): A component selected from the group consisting of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosadioate/tetradecanedioate), dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/stearic acid/rosinate), sorbitan sesquiisostearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), and dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate. Component (C): Polyhydric alcohol

In the hair styling composition of the present invention, the component (A) preferably contains the following component (A1):

Component (A1): Polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil with an average number of ethylene oxide moles added of 40 or more and 60 or less.

The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains the following component (D).

Component (D): water

In the hair styling composition of the present invention, the content of component (D) is preferably 20.0% by mass or more and 70.0% by mass or less.

The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains the following component (E).

Component (E): Polyoxyethylene alkyl ether with an HLB value of 10 or higher

In the hair styling composition of the present invention, the component (E) is preferably the following component (E1).

Component (E1): Polyoxyethylene cetyl ether and/or polyoxyethylene stearyl ether

The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains the following component (F).

Component (F): Film-forming polymer

The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains the following component (G).

Component (G): Liquid oil at 25°C

The hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably in a grease-like form.

The hair styling composition of the present invention can impart good shine to hair and enhance the styling power that lifts the hair and the ability to form hair bundles.

The present invention is described in detail below.

The hair styling composition of the present invention contains polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide addition moles of 10 or more, an oil agent that is in a paste form at 25°C and/or a nonionic surfactant that is in a paste form at 25°C and has an HLB value of 5 or less, and a polyhydric alcohol.

The hair styling composition of the present invention contains polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide addition moles of 10 or more, a component selected from the group consisting of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosadioate/tetradecanedioate), dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/stearate/rosinate), sorbitan sesquiisostearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), and dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate, and a polyhydric alcohol.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide added moles of 10 or more" may be referred to as "component (A)."

In this specification, the above-mentioned "oil agent that is a paste at 25°C and/or a nonionic surfactant that is a paste at 25°C and has an HLB value of 5 or less" may be referred to as "component (B)."

In this specification, the above "component selected from the group consisting of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosanedioate/tetradecanedioate), dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/hexastearate/hexastearate), sorbitan sesquiisostearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/hexastearate), and dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate" may be referred to as "component (BX)."

In this specification, the above-mentioned "polyhydric alcohol" may be referred to as "component (C)."

Accordingly, the hair styling composition of the present invention contains component (A), component (B), and component (C), or component (A), component (BX), and component (C).

In the hair styling composition of the present invention containing component (B), the content of component (A) is 20.0% by mass or more and 55.0% by mass or less, the content of component (B) is 0.1% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less, and the content of component (C) is 5.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less.

In the hair styling composition of the present invention containing component (BX), the content of component (A) is 20.0% by mass or more and 55.0% by mass or less, the content of component (BX) is 0.1% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less, and the content of component (C) is 5.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less.

The hair styling composition of the present invention has the above-mentioned properties, and therefore can impart good shine to hair and enhance its hair-standing styling power and hair bundle forming power.

The hair styling composition of the present invention uses a combination of components (A) and (C) and either component (B) or component (BX), which allows it to achieve all three effects: imparting good shine to hair, enhancing the styling power that lifts hair, and enhancing the ability to form hair bundles. The hair styling composition of the present invention allows for good hair bundle formation with a certain thickness, allowing hair to be styled into a hairstyle with a sufficient sense of bundled feel.

The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain water.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "water" may be referred to as "component (D)."

The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether having an HLB value of 10 or more.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "polyoxyethylene alkyl ether having an HLB value of 10 or more" may be referred to as "component (E)."

The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain a film-forming polymer.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "film-forming polymer" may be referred to as "component (F)."

The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain an oil that is liquid at 25°C.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "oil agent that is liquid at 25°C" may be referred to as "component (G)."

The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain components other than components (A) to (G).

The above components, for example, component (A), component (B), component (BX), component (C), component (E), component (F), component (G), and other components, may each be used alone or in combination of two or more types.

In this specification, the content of each component contained in the hair styling composition refers to the total content of all of the components contained in the hair styling composition. For example, the content of component (A) refers to the total content of all components (A) in the hair styling composition.

The following describes in detail each component used in the hair styling composition of the present invention.

(Component (A))
Component (A) is polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 10 or more. The use of component (A) can impart grease-like properties to the hair styling composition. It is presumed that the grease-like properties can be imparted by component (A) because component (A) forms hexagonal liquid crystals, but the reason is not limited to this. Furthermore, the use of component (A) can impart good shine to hair and enhance the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle forming power. Component (A) is a nonionic surfactant with an HLB value of greater than 5. Only one type of component (A) may be used, or two or more types may be used in combination.

The average number of moles of ethylene oxide added in component (A) (the average number of moles of ethylene oxide (EO) added in the polyoxyethylene portion) is 10 or more, preferably 20 or more, and preferably 200 or less, and more preferably 120 or less. When the average number of moles added is equal to or greater than the above-mentioned lower limit and equal to or less than the above-mentioned upper limit, the effects of the present invention can be more effectively exhibited.

Component (A) preferably contains polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide moles added of 40 or more and 60 or less. In this case, the effects of the present invention can be even more effectively achieved.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an average number of ethylene oxide added moles of 40 or more and 60 or less" may be referred to as "component (A1)."

Therefore, it is preferable that component (A) contains component (A1). The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (A1). Note that component (A1) may be used alone or in combination of two or more types.

The content of component (A1) in 100% by mass of component (A) is preferably 30.0% by mass or more, more preferably 50.0% by mass or more, even more preferably 70.0% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 80.0% by mass or more. When the content of component (A1) is at or above the above lower limit, the effects of the present invention can be even more effectively achieved. Furthermore, the content of component (A1) in 100% by mass of component (A) may be 100% by mass (total amount).

The content of component (A) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is 20.0% by mass or more and 55.0% by mass or less. If the content of component (A) is less than 20.0% by mass, it may not be possible to impart good shine to hair, and the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle-forming power may be reduced. Furthermore, if the content of component (A) is less than 20.0% by mass, the hair styling composition may not have grease-like properties. If the content of component (A) exceeds 55.0% by mass, the hair styling composition itself may become excessively hard, resulting in reduced spreadability of the hair styling composition, increased stickiness, and reduced styling power for standing hair by weight.

The content of component (A) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 22.0% by mass or more, more preferably 25.0% by mass or more, and preferably 50.0% by mass or less, and more preferably 45.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (A) is above the above lower limit and below the above upper limit, the effects of the present invention can be more effectively exerted, and the hair styling composition is more likely to have a grease-like property. When the content of component (A) is below the above upper limit, the spreadability of the hair styling composition can be more improved, and stickiness can be further reduced.

(Component (B) and Component (BX))
Component (B) is an oily agent that is pasty at 25°C and/or a nonionic surfactant that is pasty at 25°C and has an HLB value of 5 or less. Component (BX) is a component (at least one component) selected from the group consisting of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosadioate/tetradecanedioate), dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/stearate/rosinate), sorbitan sesquiisostearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), and dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate. By using component (B) in addition to components (A) and (C), it is possible to impart a certain degree of gloss to hair while improving the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle-forming power. Furthermore, by using component (BX) in addition to components (A) and (C), it is possible to impart a certain degree of gloss to hair while improving the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle-forming power. The component (B) and the component (BX) may be used singly or in combination of two or more kinds.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "oil agent that is a paste at 25°C" may be referred to as "component (B1)," and the above-mentioned "nonionic surfactant that is a paste at 25°C and has an HLB value of 5 or less" may be referred to as "component (B2)."

Therefore, component (B) is component (B1) and/or component (B2). Component (B) may be component (B1), component (B2), or both component (B1) and component (B2). The HLB value of component (B2) can be determined by actual measurement.

Examples of component (B1) include dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/stearic acid/rosinate), dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate, dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), cholesteryl hydroxystearate, and glyceryl (ethylhexanoate/stearic acid/adipate). Polyglyceryl-10 (eicosadioate/tetradecanedioate) is also a component that can correspond to component (B1).

From the perspective of imparting good shine to hair while further enhancing the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle forming power, it is preferable that component (B1) be an ester oil (an ester oil in a paste form at 25°C).

Examples of component (B2) include sorbitan sesquiisostearate.

From the perspective of more effectively achieving the effects of the present invention, it is preferable that component (B) and component (BX) each contain a component (at least one component) selected from the group consisting of dipentaerythrityl hexa(hydroxystearate/stearic acid/rosin acid), dipentaerythrityl tetra(hydroxystearate/isostearate), and dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate.

The content of component (B) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.2% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.3% by mass or more, particularly preferably 0.4% by mass or more, and preferably 5.0% by mass or less, more preferably 4.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 3.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (B) is at least the above lower limit, the effects of the present invention are more effectively exerted. When the content of component (B) is at most the above upper limit, stickiness can be further reduced and the styling power to stand the hair can be further enhanced.

The content of component (BX) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.2% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.3% by mass or more, particularly preferably 0.4% by mass or more, and preferably 5.0% by mass or less, more preferably 4.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 3.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (BX) is at least the above lower limit, the effects of the present invention are more effectively exerted. When the content of component (BX) is at most the above upper limit, stickiness can be further reduced and the styling power to stand the hair can be further enhanced.

(Component (C))
Component (C) is a polyhydric alcohol. By using component (C), it is possible to impart good gloss to hair and also to improve hair bundle forming ability. Component (C) may be used alone or in combination of two or more types.

Examples of component (C) include glycerin, diglycerin, 1,3-butylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, 1,2-butanediol, 1,2-pentanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-octanediol, 1,2-decanediol, polyethylene glycol, maltitol, and polyoxypropylene methyl glucoside.

From the perspective of imparting even better shine to hair, it is preferable that component (C) contains glycerin and/or diglycerin.

The content of component (C) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is 5.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less. If the content of component (C) is less than 5.0% by mass, it will not be possible to impart good shine to hair and the hair bundle forming ability will decrease. If the content of component (C) exceeds 30.0% by mass, the hair will become sticky and the styling ability to lift the hair by weight will decrease.

The content of component (C) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 6.0% by mass or more, more preferably 8.0% by mass or more, and preferably 25.0% by mass or less, more preferably 20.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (C) is equal to or greater than the above-mentioned lower limit and equal to or less than the above-mentioned upper limit, the effects of the present invention are more effectively exerted. When the content of component (C) is equal to or less than the above-mentioned upper limit, stickiness can be further suppressed.

(Component (D))
Component (D) is water. The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (D). By using component (D), shapability can be improved. Component (D) is preferably purified water.

The content of component (D) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 20.0% by mass or more, more preferably 25.0% by mass or more, and preferably 70.0% by mass or less, more preferably 60.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (D) is at least the above lower limit, the spreadability of the hair styling composition can be improved even more. When the content of component (D) is at most the above upper limit, the effects of the present invention are even more effectively exerted.

(Component (E))
Component (E) is a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether having an HLB value of 10 or more. The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (E). By using component (E), shapability can be improved and the hair styling power for standing hair can be further improved. Component (E) may be used alone or in combination of two or more types. The HLB value of component (E) can be determined by actual measurement.

Examples of component (E) include polyoxyethylene cetyl ether, polyoxyethylene stearyl ether, and polyoxyethylene octyldodecyl ether.

The HLB value of component (E) is preferably 12 or greater, more preferably 14 or greater, and preferably 20 or less, more preferably 19 or less.

The average number of moles of ethylene oxide added in component (E) (the average number of moles of ethylene oxide (EO) added in the polyoxyethylene portion) is preferably 20 or more, more preferably 30 or more, and preferably 50 or less, more preferably 40 or less.

From the perspective of further enhancing the hair-standing styling power, component (E) is preferably polyoxyethylene cetyl ether and/or polyoxyethylene stearyl ether.

In this specification, the above-mentioned "polyoxyethylene cetyl ether and/or polyoxyethylene stearyl ether" may be referred to as "component (E1)."

Therefore, component (E) is preferably component (E1). The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (E1). The polyoxyethylene cetyl ether in component (E1) has an HLB value of 10 or more, and the polyoxyethylene stearyl ether in component (E1) has an HLB value of 10 or more. In other words, component (E1) is polyoxyethylene cetyl ether with an HLB value of 10 or more and/or polyoxyethylene stearyl ether with an HLB value of 10 or more.

The content of component (E) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 3.0% by mass or more, more preferably 5.0% by mass or more, and preferably 20.0% by mass or less, more preferably 15.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (E) is at least the above lower limit, the hair-standing styling power can be further enhanced. When the content of component (E) is at most the above upper limit, better shine can be imparted to the hair, and the spread of the hair styling composition can be further improved.

(Component (F))
Component (F) is a film-forming polymer. The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (F). The use of component (F) can improve the hair-standing ability and the retention of the hair-standing ability. Conventional grease-like hair styling compositions containing components (A), (C), and (F) tend to reduce the hair-standing ability and the retention of the hair-standing ability. However, the hair styling composition of the present invention contains component (B) or component (BX), and therefore can improve the hair-standing ability and the retention of the hair-standing ability even when the hair styling composition contains component (F). Only one type of component (F) may be used, or two or more types may be used in combination.

Examples of component (F) include anionic film-forming polymers, cationic film-forming polymers, amphoteric film-forming polymers, and nonionic film-forming polymers.

Examples of the anionic film-forming polymer include alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymers, (meth)acrylic acid/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymers, acrylic resin alkanolamines (such as acrylates copolymer AMP and (acrylates/diacetoneacrylamide) copolymer AMP), methyl vinyl ether/maleic ester copolymers, vinyl acetate/crotonic acid copolymers, vinyl acetate/crotonic acid/vinyl neodecanoate copolymers, vinyl acetate/crotonic acid/vinyl propionate copolymers, vinyl acetate/monobutyl maleate/isoborolyl acrylate copolymers, acrylic acid/alkyl acrylate ester/alkylacrylamide copolymers, polyvinylpyrrolidone/acrylate/(meth)acrylic acid copolymers, (styrene/alkyl acrylate) copolymers, (styrene/acrylic acid amide) copolymers, urethane-acrylic copolymers, and sodium polystyrene sulfonate. Note that "(meth)acrylic" refers to both "acrylic" and "methacrylic."

The above-mentioned cationic film-forming polymers include vinylpyrrolidone/N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylic acid copolymer diethyl sulfate (Polyquaternium-11), vinylpyrrolidone/dimethylaminopropyl methacrylamide/methacryloylaminopropyl lauryldimethylammonium chloride copolymer, dimethyldiallylammonium chloride/acrylamide copolymer (Polyquaternium-7), acrylic acid/dimethyldiallylammonium chloride copolymer (Polyquaternium-22), (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester/methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride copolymer, butyl methacrylate/methacrylic acid copolymer, Examples include 2-ethoxyethyl acetate/methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride copolymer, O-[2-hydroxy-3-(trimethylammonio)propyl]hydroxyethylcellulose chloride, vinylimidazolium trichloride/vinylpyrrolidone copolymer, hydroxyethylcellulose/dimethyldiallylammonium chloride, polyvinylpyrrolidone/alkylaminoacrylate/vinylcaprolactam copolymer, methylvinylimidazolium chloride/vinylpyrrolidone copolymer, and (vinylpyrrolidone/dimethylaminopropyl methacrylamide/lauryldimethylaminopropyl methacrylamide) copolymer.

Examples of the amphoteric film-forming polymer include (ethyl methacrylate betaine/acrylates) copolymer, N-methacryloyloxyethyl N,N-dimethylammonium-α-N-methylcarboxybetaine/methacrylic acid alkyl ester copolymer, N,N-dimethyl-N-(2-methacryloyloxyethyl)amine N-oxide/methacrylic acid alkyl ester copolymer, hydroxypropyl acrylate/butylaminoethyl methacrylate/acrylic acid octylamide copolymer, monochloroacetic acid amphoteric acid amphoteric acid of dialkylaminoethyl methacrylate/methacrylic acid alkyl ester copolymer, and (isobutylene/diethylaminopropylmaleimide/maleic acid) copolymer.

Examples of the nonionic film-forming polymer include polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, vinyl acetate-vinylpyrrolidone copolymer, vinyl methyl ether-ethyl maleate copolymer, (styrene/vinylpyrrolidone) copolymer, and polyvinyl caprolactam.

The content of component (F) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.2% by mass or more, and preferably 5.0% by mass or less, more preferably 3.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (F) is above the above lower limit, the hair-standing styling power and the retention of the stood-up hair can be further improved. When the content of component (F) is below the above upper limit, a decrease in adhesive strength between hair strands due to component (F) can be prevented, and therefore the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle forming power can be maintained at a high level. Furthermore, when the content of component (F) is below the above upper limit, the hair can be imparted with even better shine.

(Component (G))
Component (G) is an oily agent that is liquid at 25°C. The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably contains component (G). By using component (G), it is possible to impart even better shine to hair and further improve hair bundle forming ability. Only one type of component (G) may be used, or two or more types may be used in combination.

Examples of component (G) include hydrocarbon oils, vegetable oils, and ester oils.

Examples of the hydrocarbon oil include α-olefin oligomers, squalane (synthetic squalane, vegetable squalane), squalene, liquid isoparaffin, liquid paraffin (mineral oil), (C13-15) alkanes, hydrogenated polyisobutene, hydrogenated polydecene, light isoparaffin (isododecane), light liquid isoparaffin, and liquid isoparaffin.

Examples of the above-mentioned vegetable oils include avocado oil, argan oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, soybean oil, corn oil, castor oil, grape seed oil, kukui nut oil, jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil, crambe abyssinica seed oil, meadowfoam oil, and sunflower oil.

Examples of the ester oils include isononyl isononanoate, isopropyl myristate, isodecyl neopentanoate, octyldodecyl myristate, octyldodecyl oleate, octyldodecyl isostearate, diisostearyl malate, diethylhexyl sebacate, glyceryl tri-2-ethylhexanoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glyceryl triisopalmitate, pentaerythritol tetra-2-ethylhexanoate, pentaerythritol tetraisostearate, and polyglyceryl-10 decaisostearate.

The content of component (G) in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.3% by mass or more, and preferably 3.0% by mass or less, more preferably 2.0% by mass or less. When the content of component (G) is at least the above lower limit, it is possible to impart even better shine to hair and further enhance hair bundle forming ability. When the content of component (G) is at most the above upper limit, it is possible to prevent a decrease in adhesive strength between hair strands due to component (G), and therefore it is possible to maintain high hair bundle forming ability. Furthermore, when the content of component (G) is at most the above upper limit, it is possible to maintain high hair standing styling ability.

(Other ingredients)
The hair styling composition of the present invention may contain components other than the above-mentioned components (A) to (G). Examples of components other than components (A) to (G) include, but are not limited to, oils that are solid at 25°C, cationic surfactants, anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, nonionic surfactants different from both components (A) and (B), lower alcohols, cooling agents, pH adjusters, preservatives, antioxidants, sequestering agents (such as EDTA), vitamins, animal and plant extracts, pearlizing agents, colorants, and fragrances. Only one of each of the above other components may be used, or two or more may be used in combination.

<Oil solution that is solid at 25°C>
Examples of the oil agent that is solid at 25°C include wax, hydrocarbon oil, vegetable oil, ester oil, and higher alcohol.

Examples of the waxes that are solid oils at 25°C include carnauba wax, candelilla wax, beeswax, rice bran wax, Japan wax, shellac wax, and spermaceti wax.

Examples of the hydrocarbon oil that is a solid oil at 25°C include ceresin, paraffin, microcrystalline wax, and polyethylene wax.

Examples of the vegetable oils that are solid at 25°C include shea butter, cocoa butter, Astrocaryum murumuru seed butter, hydrogenated castor oil, mango butter, and palm oil.

Examples of the ester oils that are solid at 25°C include ethyl stearate, myristyl myristate, and cetyl palmitate.

Examples of the higher alcohols that are solid oils at 25°C include myristyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, and cetostearyl alcohol.

The content of the oil agent that is solid at 25°C, based on 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention, is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.5% by mass or more, and preferably 8.0% by mass or less, more preferably 5.0% by mass or less. When the content of the oil agent that is solid at 25°C is equal to or greater than the above lower limit and equal to or less than the above upper limit, the hair-standing styling power and hair bundle-forming power can be further improved.

<Lower alcohol>
The lower alcohol includes ethanol.

<Preservatives>
Examples of the preservative include methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, isopropylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben, sodium benzoate, and phenoxyethanol.

<Thickener>
The hair styling composition of the present invention preferably does not contain a thickener or contains a thickener in an amount of 0.05% by mass or less.

Examples of the thickener include carboxyvinyl polymer, acrylic acid/alkyl methacrylate copolymer, and hydroxyalkyl cellulose. Examples of the hydroxyalkyl cellulose include hydroxymethyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose.

When the hair styling composition of the present invention contains a thickener, the content of the thickener in 100% by mass of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 0.05% by mass or less, and more preferably 0.01% by mass or less. It is most preferable that the hair styling composition of the present invention does not contain a thickener.

(Other Details of Hair Styling Composition)
From the viewpoint of improving handleability, the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably in a grease-like state. The hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably a grease-like hair styling composition. Examples of the grease-like hair styling composition include compositions known as hair grease, water grease, and aqueous pomade.

The hair styling composition of the present invention can be produced by any known method for producing hair styling compositions. Examples of methods for producing the hair styling composition of the present invention include a method in which the components are stirred and homogenized using a paddle mixer or the like.

The hair styling composition of the present invention can be used, for example, in a form filled in a container. When the hair styling composition of the present invention is the above-mentioned grease-like hair styling composition, the above-mentioned container is preferably a jar.

The normal stress at 25°C of the hair styling composition of the present invention is preferably 40 gf or more, more preferably 50 gf or more, and preferably 700 gf or less, more preferably 600 gf or less. When the normal stress is equal to or greater than the above lower limit and equal to or less than the above upper limit, handleability can be further improved. When the hair styling composition of the present invention is a grease-like hair styling composition, when the normal stress is equal to or greater than the above lower limit and equal to or less than the above upper limit, the handleability of the grease-like hair styling composition can be particularly improved.

The normal stress is measured as follows: A container with a diameter of 30 mm or more (e.g., a beaker or wide-mouth jar) is filled with the hair styling composition to a height of 22 mm or more from the bottom of the container. The container filled with the hair styling composition is left standing at 25°C. While left standing, a 10φ spherical adapter is inserted perpendicularly to the top surface of the hair styling composition from above the hair styling composition at a speed of 60 mm/min. The tip of the adapter is inserted to a depth of 20 mm from the top surface of the hair styling composition. The stress measured at this time is the normal stress. A smaller normal stress indicates a softer hair styling composition, and a larger normal stress indicates a harder hair styling composition.

The normal stress can be measured using a stress measurement device capable of measuring stress at the depth. Examples of such stress measurement devices include the "Rheometer Series" manufactured by Sun Scientific Co., Ltd.

The present invention will be specifically explained below with reference to examples and comparative examples. The present invention is not limited to the following examples.

(Examples 1 to 16 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4)
Hair styling compositions were prepared by blending the ingredients shown in Tables 1 to 4 below (blending units are mass %). The blend amounts in the tables (amount blended relative to 100 mass % of the hair styling composition) are shown as pure blend amounts (unit: mass %), excluding the blend amount of "a mixture of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosandioate/tetradecanedioate) and glycerin." Note that the "mixture of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosandioate/tetradecanedioate) and glycerin" in the tables is "Neosolue Aqua" manufactured by Nippon Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., and the blend amount shown is the blend amount of this raw material (commercially available product). Therefore, the mixture of polyglyceryl-10 (eicosandioate/tetradecanedioate) and glycerin is a mixture of component (BX) and component (C).

The hair styling compositions obtained in Examples 1 to 16 and Comparative Examples 2 to 4 were in a grease-like state. On the other hand, the hair styling composition obtained in Comparative Example 1 was in a liquid state.

(evaluation)
The hair styling compositions thus obtained were evaluated as follows. The evaluation results are shown in the table below. The evaluations were carried out by three expert evaluators.

(Test Example 1: Hair gloss)
0.7 g of the obtained hair styling composition was placed in the palm of the hand and applied to either the left or right half of a cut wig (manufactured by Beaulux, black human hair), and the hair was styled by lifting it upward from the roots. The gloss of the hair in the area where the hair styling composition was applied was visually observed and evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria.

◯ (Excellent): Shiny and very strong gloss ○ (Good): Clearly glossier than the hair in the area where the hair styling composition was not applied × (Poor): The gloss is the same or less than the gloss in the area where the hair styling composition was not applied

(Test Example 2: Hair-standing ability)
The hairstyles styled in Test Example 1 were visually observed, and the hair-standing styling power was evaluated according to the following criteria.

○○ (Excellent): Hair is styled to stand up strongly. ○ (Good): Hair is styled to stand up clearly. × (Poor): Hair cannot be styled to lift up, or hair can only be styled to lift up a little.

(Test Example 3: Hair bundle forming ability)
The degree of hair bundle formation during styling in Test Example 1 was observed, and the hair bundle forming ability was evaluated according to the following criteria.

○○ (Excellent): Hair bundles can be formed without falling apart right down to the ends. ○ (Good): Hair bundles can be formed, although the ends fall apart slightly. × (Poor): Hairs fall apart and cannot be formed into bundles.

The compositions and results are shown in Tables 1 to 4 below.

Table 5 below shows formulation examples 1 and 2 of the hair styling composition of the present invention.
