This disclosure relates to buildings.

Buildings with courtyards are known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). The building described in Patent Document 1 has multiple openings in the exterior wall surrounding the courtyard.

Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 7-26742

In buildings with a courtyard, if the courtyard is separated from the outdoors by a partition with an opening, the opening is visible, giving the building a distinctive appearance. However, when such a building is viewed from a position opposite the partition, there is room for improvement in the building's appearance.

(1) A building that solves the above problem is a building with a courtyard that connects to the outdoors, comprising: a building section having a room; and a courtyard section that includes the courtyard and is located adjacent to the building section; the courtyard section has a first partition section that is located between the courtyard and the outdoors; the first partition section has a plurality of vertical wall sections that are arranged with openings, and the plurality of vertical wall sections are configured so that, in a plan view, the openings connect the courtyard and the outdoors, and the openings open upward.

With this configuration, when the building is viewed from a position facing the first partition, the opening appears to penetrate the top of the first partition and connect to the sky above. This gives the building's exterior a new, modern look. In this way, the building's appearance can be improved.

(2) In the building described in (1) above, the vertical wall sections are arranged so that the longitudinal direction of the vertical wall sections intersects with the extension direction of the first partition section in a plan view. This configuration gives the first partition section a sense of depth, thereby improving the appearance of the building.

(3) In the building described in (1) or (2) above, each of the vertical wall sections has a column and an exterior wall material surrounding the column. This configuration creates a sense of unity between the first partition section and the building section, compared to simple steel columns.

(4) In the building described in any one of (1) to (3) above, each of the vertical wall sections has two columns and exterior wall material surrounding the two columns, and the two columns are aligned in a direction intersecting the extension direction of the first partition section in a plan view. This configuration improves the strength of the vertical wall sections.

(5) In the building described in (3) or (4) above, the courtyard area has a roof portion placed over the courtyard, and the roof portion has a roof opening. With this configuration, light and wind enter the courtyard directly from above, improving the openness of the courtyard.

(6) In the building described in (5) above, the roof section has a plurality of horizontal members extending in a direction intersecting the extension direction of the first partition section in a plan view, and the horizontal members are connected to the columns of the vertical wall section. With this configuration, the vertical wall section and the horizontal members of the roof section are connected, thereby improving the overall strength of the section including the roof section and the first partition section.

(7) In the building described in (6) above, the multiple cross members are connected to one another by connecting members, which are positioned inside the outer surface of the first partition section in a plan view. With this configuration, by positioning the connecting members inside the outer surface of the first partition section in a plan view, an exterior design with an upwardly opening opening can be created, and the overall strength of the section including the roof section and the first partition section can be improved.

(8) In the building described in any one of (1) to (7) above, the courtyard section has a second partition section that intersects with the first partition section, and the second partition section is arranged to face a first side surface of the building section that faces the courtyard. With this configuration, the courtyard is surrounded by the first partition section, the second partition section, and the first side surface of the building section. This makes it possible to make the courtyard difficult to see from the outside.

(9) In the building described in any one of (1) to (8) above, the courtyard has a second partition that intersects with the first partition and is rectangular in plan view, the building has a first side that faces the courtyard and a second side that intersects with the first side, the first partition is arranged to face the second side of the building, and the second partition is arranged to face the first side of the building. With this configuration, the courtyard is surrounded by the first partition, the second partition, the first side of the building, and the second side of the building. This makes it difficult to see the courtyard from the outside.

The technology disclosed herein can improve the appearance of a building that has a courtyard separated from the outdoors by a partition with an opening, when viewed from a position opposite the partition.

The building 1 will be described with reference to FIGS.
In this embodiment, the first floor refers to the floor closest to the ground 2. The second floor refers to the floor above the first floor. The front of the building 1 refers to the side of the building 1 that a viewer sees when viewing the building 1 from a position opposite the first partition 20 described below. The lateral direction DX refers to the direction along the extension direction DE of the first partition 20 in a plan view. The depth direction DY refers to the direction perpendicular to the lateral direction DX in a plan view.

[Buildings]
Examples of the building 1 in this embodiment include a detached house, an apartment building, a commercial facility, and a public facility. The building 1 described in this embodiment is a single-family home. The building 1 in this embodiment has a first floor and a second floor.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, building 1 has a courtyard SB that is connected to an outdoor SA. Outdoor SA refers to the space outside building 1. Courtyard SB is directly connected to the space of outdoor SA. Courtyard SB may have plants. Courtyard SB may have a tile floor. Courtyard SB may be configured as an open terrace. Courtyard SB may have a deck.

1, the building 1 includes a foundation 5. The foundation 5 includes a first foundation 5A and a second foundation 5B.
As shown in Fig. 2, the building 1 includes a building portion 3 and a courtyard portion 4. In Fig. 2, the courtyard portion 4 is indicated by a two-dot chain line. The courtyard portion 4 includes a courtyard SB.

The building section 3 has a first foundation 5A. The building section 3 has a room 7. In addition to the room 7, the building section 3 also has an entrance, windows, etc. Examples of rooms 7 include a living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, etc. If the building 1 is a commercial building, examples of rooms 7 include an office, workroom, production room, etc.

As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the building section 3 has a first side surface 11 facing the courtyard SB and a second side surface 12 intersecting the first side surface 11. The first side surface 11 and the second side surface 12 may not be flat, but may have a step or recess. The first side surface 11 faces the courtyard SB. A window sash 18 is provided on the first floor portion of the first side surface 11.

The second side surface 12 is connected to the end of the first side surface 11 in plan view. The second side surface 12 faces the courtyard SB. A door and window 17 is provided on the first floor of the second side surface 12, allowing access to the courtyard SB.

The building section 3 further has a third side surface 13, a fourth side surface 14, a fifth side surface 15, and a sixth side surface 16. The third side surface 13 to the sixth side surface 16 may not be flat, but may have steps or recesses.

The third side surface 13 faces in the same direction as the first partition section 20. The third side surface 13 is arranged on the opposite side of the first side surface 11 from the second side surface 12 in the depth direction DY. The third side surface 13 is connected to the first side surface 11. The third side surface 13 is arranged parallel to the second side surface 12.

The fourth side surface 14 is disposed on the opposite side of the third side surface 13 from the first side surface 11 in the lateral direction DX. The fourth side surface 14 is directly or indirectly connected to the third side surface 13. The fourth side surface 14 is disposed parallel to the first side surface 11.

The fifth side surface 15 is disposed on the opposite side of the fourth side surface 14 from the third side surface 13 in the depth direction DY. The fifth side surface 15 is directly or indirectly connected to the fourth side surface 14. The fifth side surface 15 is disposed parallel to the third side surface 13.

The sixth side 16 is disposed on the opposite side of the fifth side 15 from the fourth side 14 in the horizontal direction DX. The sixth side 16 is directly or indirectly connected to the fifth side 15. The sixth side 16 is disposed parallel to the fourth side 14. The sixth side 16 is connected to the second side 12.

The building section 3 has a roof 8. The roof 8 is configured to be flat. The roof 8 may also be configured as a shed roof. The roof 8 may also be configured as a gable roof 8 in the shape of a mountain, where two sloping surfaces intersect (also called a gable roof).

[Courtyard area]
As shown in Figures 5 and 6, the courtyard section 4 is located adjacent to the building section 3. The courtyard section 4 is adjacent to the first side surface 11 of the building section 3. The courtyard section 4 is rectangular in plan view. The courtyard section 4 has a first partition section 20 located between the courtyard SB and the outdoor SA. The courtyard section 4 has a second partition section 30 located between the courtyard SB and the outdoor SA. The courtyard SB is surrounded by the first partition section 20, the second partition section 30, the first side surface 11 of the building section 3, and the second side surface 12 of the building section 3.

[First partition section]
The first partition 20 is provided to face the second side surface 12 of the building section 3. The first partition 20 is configured to be parallel to the second side surface 12. The first partition 20 is configured to have approximately the same height as the building section 3 (see FIG. 6).

As shown in Figures 1, 8, and 9, the first partition section 20 has a plurality of vertical wall sections 22 arranged with openings 21 between them. The plurality of vertical wall sections 22 are configured so that the following openings 21 are provided in the first partition section 20.

In the first partition 20, the opening 21 opens so as to connect the courtyard SB and the outdoor SA in a plan view. The opening 21 extends from the foundation 5 to the upper end of the first partition 20. The opening 21 opens upward.

The multiple vertical wall portions 22 are aligned in a row along the extension direction DE of the first partition portion 20. The multiple vertical wall portions 22 are arranged so that the longitudinal direction DL of the vertical wall portions 22 intersects with the extension direction DE of the first partition portion 20 in a plan view.

In a plan view, the vertical wall portion 22 is configured as a rectangle that is long in the depth direction DY. The width of the vertical wall portion 22 in the horizontal direction DX is 200 mm or more and 300 mm or less. The width of the opening 21 in the horizontal direction DX is 200 mm or more and 300 mm or less. The ratio of the width of the opening 21 to the width of the vertical wall portion 22 in the horizontal direction DX is 0.8 or more and 1.2 or less. In one example, the ratio of the width of the opening 21 to the width of the vertical wall portion 22 in the horizontal direction DX is 1.

The depth length of the vertical wall portion 22 in the depth direction DY is 350 mm or more and 600 mm or less. The ratio of the depth length of the vertical wall portion 22 in the depth direction DY to the width length of the vertical wall portion 22 in the horizontal direction DX is 1.5 or more and 2.5 or less.

The depth of the vertical wall portion 22 in the depth direction DY is greater than the width of the opening 21 in the horizontal direction DX. This narrows the range of angles from which passersby passing by the building 1 can see the courtyard SB.

Each of the multiple vertical wall sections 22 has a pillar 23 and an exterior wall material 24 surrounding the pillar 23. In this embodiment, each of the multiple vertical wall sections 22 has two pillars 23 and an exterior wall material 24 surrounding the two pillars 23. The two pillars 23 are aligned in a direction that intersects with the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20 in a plan view.

The exterior wall material 24 of the vertical wall portion 22 is the same as the exterior wall material used in the building 1. The exterior wall material 24 of the vertical wall portion 22 may be different from the exterior wall material used in the building 1.
As shown in FIG. 7 , the courtyard section 4 has a second foundation 5B. In FIG. 7 , the hatched areas indicate a lower height than the open areas. The second foundation 5B of the courtyard section 4 is connected to the first foundation 5A of the building section 3. The second foundation 5B is formed integrally with the first foundation 5A. The second foundation 5B includes a first portion 26 that supports the columns 23 of the first partition section 20 and a second portion 27 that supports the columns 23 of the second partition section 30. The first portion 26 includes a third portion 28 that supports the columns 23 of the vertical wall section 22 and a fourth portion 29 (hatched portion in FIG. 7 ) that connects the third portions 28. The third portions 28 are provided to correspond to the vertical wall section 22. Two adjacent third portions 28 are connected by two fourth portions 29. Of the plurality of third portions 28, the third portion 28 closest to the second portion 27 is connected to the second portion 27 by two fourth portions 29. Of the plurality of third portions 28, the third portion 28 closest to the first foundation 5A is connected to the first foundation 5A by two fourth portions 29.

[Second partition section]
5 , the second partition 30 is configured to have approximately the same height as the building section 3. The second partition 30 intersects with the first partition 20. The second partition 30 is provided so as to face the first side surface 11 of the building section 3.

As shown in Figures 8 and 9, the second partition section 30 has a plurality of pillars 23. The plurality of pillars 23 are arranged in the same direction as the extension direction of the second partition section 30. The plurality of pillars 23 are surrounded by exterior wall material 24. The exterior wall material 24 of the second partition section 30 is the same as the exterior wall material used in the building 1. The exterior wall material 24 of the second partition section 30 may be different from the exterior wall material used in the building 1.

In a plan view, one end of the second partition section 30 is connected to the first partition section 20. In a plan view, the other end of the second partition section 30 is located near the sixth side surface 16 of the building section 3. A ventilation gap 31 is provided between the second partition section 30 and the sixth side surface 16 of the building section 3. The ventilation gap 31 extends to near the upper end of the second partition section 30.

[Courtyard roof]
As shown in Figure 6, the courtyard section 4 has a roof section 40 that is arranged above the courtyard SB. The roof section 40 has a roof opening 41. In a plan view, the roof opening 41 is arranged on the second side surface 12 side of the building section 3 in the roof section 40. The roof section 40 has a flat roof section 42. The flat roof section 42 is configured as an extension of the roof 8 of the building section 3. In a plan view, the flat roof section 42 is arranged on the first partition section 20 side of the roof section 40. The outer surface 42A of the flat roof section 42 is arranged inward from the outer surface 20A of the first partition section 20. Specifically, the outer surface 42A of the flat roof section 42 is arranged inward from the outer surface 22A of the vertical wall section 22 (see Figure 2).

As shown in FIG. 10 , the roof section 40 has multiple cross members 43. The multiple cross members 43 are components of the framework that supports the flat roof section 42. Each of the multiple cross members 43 extends in a direction that intersects with the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20 in a plan view. The multiple cross members 43 are arranged parallel to each other in a plan view and are aligned in the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20. Each of the multiple cross members 43 is connected to a column 23 of the vertical wall section 22.

The multiple cross members 43 are connected to one another by connecting members 44. The connecting members 44 are components of the framework that supports the flat roof section 42. In plan view, the connecting members 44 are positioned inside the outer surface 20A of the first partition section 20. Specifically, in plan view, the connecting members 44 are positioned away from the first partition section 20 toward the second side surface 12 of the building section 3.

[Operation of this embodiment]
In a building 1 having a courtyard SB, it is known to provide an opening 21 in a first partition 20 provided between the courtyard SB and the outdoor area SA. The opening 21 extends from the foundation 5 to the second floor. The opening 21 extending from the first floor to the second floor in this manner ensures ventilation to the courtyard SB and also broadens the range of design possibilities for the building 1. However, conventional openings 21 do not open at the top end of the partition.

In this embodiment, the opening 21 in the first partition 20 provided between the courtyard SB and the outdoor SA opens at the top end of the first partition 20. In other words, the opening 21 in the first partition 20 opens upward. As a result, the vertical wall 22 appears to extend into the sky. This gives the viewer a completely different impression than a building 1 in which the first partition 20 simply has a long, narrow rectangular opening 21. The building 1 gives the viewer impressions of openness, sophistication, an advanced image of design, mechanical beauty through straight lines, and so on.

[Effects of this embodiment]
The effects of this embodiment will be described.
(1) Building 1 comprises a building portion 3 having a room 7, and a courtyard portion 4. Courtyard portion 4 comprises a first partition portion 20 provided between courtyard SB and outdoor SA. First partition portion 20 has a plurality of vertical wall portions 22 arranged with openings 21 between them. In a plan view, openings 21 are open to connect courtyard SB and outdoor SA, and openings 21 are open upward.

With this configuration, when the building 1 is viewed from a position facing the first partition 20, the opening 21 appears to penetrate the top of the first partition 20 and connect to the sky above. This gives the exterior of the building 1 a new, modern look. In this way, the appearance of the building 1 can be improved.

(2) The multiple vertical wall sections 22 are arranged so that the longitudinal direction DL of the vertical wall sections 22 intersects with the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20 in a plan view. This configuration gives the first partition section 20 a sense of depth, thereby improving the appearance of the building 1.

(3) Each of the multiple vertical wall sections 22 has a column 23 and an exterior wall material 24 surrounding the column 23. This configuration creates a sense of unity between the first partition section 20 and the building section 3, compared to columns 23 made simply of steel.

(4) Each of the multiple vertical wall sections 22 has two pillars 23 and an exterior wall material 24 surrounding the two pillars 23. The two pillars 23 are aligned in a direction intersecting the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20 in a plan view. This configuration improves the strength of the vertical wall sections 22.

(5) The courtyard area 4 has a roof section 40 placed above the courtyard SB. The roof section 40 has a roof opening 41. This configuration allows light and wind to enter the courtyard SB directly from above, improving the openness of the courtyard SB.

(6) The roof section 40 has multiple cross members 43. The cross members 43 extend in a direction intersecting the extension direction DE of the first partition section 20 in a plan view. The cross members 43 are connected to the columns 23 of the vertical wall section 22. With this configuration, the vertical wall section 22 and the cross members 43 of the roof section 40 are connected, thereby improving the overall strength of the section including the roof section 40 and the first partition section 20.

(7) The multiple cross members 43 are connected to one another by connecting members 44, which are positioned inward from the outer surface 20A of the first partition section 20 in a plan view. With this configuration, by positioning the connecting members 44 inward from the outer surface 20A of the first partition section 20 in a plan view, an exterior design in which the openings 21 open upward can be created, and the overall strength of the section including the roof section 40 and the first partition section 20 can be improved.

(8) The courtyard section 4 has a second partition section 30 that intersects with the first partition section 20. The second partition section 30 is arranged to face the first side surface 11 of the building section 3 that faces the courtyard SB. With this configuration, the courtyard SB is surrounded by the first partition section 20, the second partition section 30, and the first side surface 11 of the building section 3. This makes it difficult to see the courtyard SB from the outside.

(9) The courtyard 4 is rectangular in plan view. The first partition 20 is arranged to face the second side surface 12 of the building section 3. The second partition 30 is arranged to face the first side surface 11 of the building section 3. With this configuration, the courtyard SB is surrounded by the first partition 20, the second partition 30, the first side surface 11 of the building section 3, and the second side surface 12 of the building section 3. This makes it difficult to see the courtyard SB from the outside.

(10) The depth of the vertical wall portion 22 in the depth direction DY is greater than the width of the opening 21 in the horizontal direction DX. This configuration narrows the range of angles at which passersby passing by the building 1 can see the courtyard SB.

<Modification>
The above-described embodiment is an example of a form that the building 1 can take, and is not intended to limit the form. The building 1 can take a form different from the form exemplified in the above-described embodiment. Examples of such a form include a form in which part of the configuration of the embodiment is replaced, modified, or omitted, or a form in which a new configuration is added to the embodiment. Modified examples of the embodiment are shown below.

In the above embodiment, all of the multiple openings 21 in the first partition 20 of the courtyard section 4 open upward. However, some of the multiple openings 21 may open upward. Some of the multiple openings 21 may not open upward. For example, openings 21 that open upward and openings 21 that do not open upward may be arranged alternately.

In the above embodiment, the first partition 20 of the courtyard portion 4 has a plurality of openings 21. In contrast to this, the first partition 20 of the hollow portion may have one opening 21.
In the above embodiment, the second partition 30 is not provided with an opening 21. However, the second partition 30 may also be provided with an opening 21 having a similar shape to the opening 21 of the first partition 20.

In the building 1 of this embodiment, the ratio of the width of the opening 21 to the width of the vertical wall portion 22 in the horizontal direction DX may be greater than 1.2.
In the building 1 of this embodiment, the opening 21 of the first partition 20 may extend upward from a height near the second floor and open upward. Also, in the building 1 of this embodiment, the opening 21 of the first partition 20 may extend upward from a height near the midpoint between the floor and ceiling of the second floor and open upward.

As shown in FIG. 11, the courtyard section 4 may be arranged between a first building section 3A and a second building section 3B that are independent of each other.
As shown in FIG. 12, the courtyard section 4 may be arranged between a first building section 3A and a second building section 3B that are connected to each other.

Supplementary Note 1 is a building. The building has a courtyard that connects to the outdoors. A building with a courtyard that leads to the outdoors,
a building section having a room;
a courtyard portion including the courtyard and provided adjacent to the building portion;
The building portion has a flat roof,
The courtyard area includes a first partition provided between the courtyard and the outdoors , and a roof area configured as an extension of the roof and disposed above the courtyard ,
The roof portion has a flat roof portion that is connected to the first partition portion and is configured flat,
the first partition portion has a plurality of vertical wall portions that are connected to the flat roof portion and are arranged with openings therebetween ,
A building in which the multiple vertical wall sections are configured so that, in a plan view, the openings connect the courtyard to the outdoors , and the outer surface of the flat roof section is positioned more inward than the outer surface of the first partition section, causing the openings to open upward.
