そのために次のような問題点があった。
イ) X、Y軸の交差で、四か所に0を表示するか、一箇所で兼用するかの方法となり、決して正確ではなかつた。
ロ) X、Y軸の縦と横の交差箇所を0とするグラフに於いて、種類の異なる単位の対象に対して、兼用する表示は不合理だった。
ハ) ダブって表示すれば、0の表示は描きにくく分かりにくく見えにくかった。
ニ) 0の表示をしたいが、不合理な場所しかなかった。

・直交する両辺の計測を行うための、L字型の物差しの使用時に、角ばらせないのでL字の角を危険回避できるようになった。
・同一面に角度と長さを0位置で共用して表示するので、シンプルになると共に角度と長さの関係が一目瞭然になった。
・それぞれ異なった半径の曲線から、選んでカーブラインを絵取れるようになった。
・表示したい長さ位置より欠け所に向けて直線の下辺部をなぞると0の欠け所で止まり、目的の長さが示されるようになった。
角度と長さの計測器を一体にしたために、計測器を動かさずに角度がとれ、図形が表示しやすくなり、長さと角度の関係を自然に知ることが出来る様になった。

図4は、角度器の90度位置と物差しの0位置を共通させ、欠け所位置の中心とし180度分の角度部と物差し部の上辺と下辺を加えた平面図である。角度部の目盛ライン(13)を設けている。物差し部の縦幅の端部(14)を示す。従来の計測器の下端位置(17)は目盛最下端の位置から余白があるが、これを外して設けた。
図5は、弧の形で上辺側を設け、間に弧の繋ぎ部(16)を設けた。
図6は、上辺側を後部に向けて、半径(15)の長さを次第に小さくして、様々な半径の弧が写し取れる形状にした例である。
