Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a novel epoxy resin composition having improved storage stability and pot life and rapidly curable when heated, by compounding the resin with a specific reaction product as a curing accelerator.
CONSTITUTION: (A) One or more chelate compounds of β-diketones with metals, e.g. cobalt, etc.,[e.g. 2,4-pentanedione(acetylacetone), etc.]are reacted with (B) one or more biric acid esters preferably expressed by the formula[R is (cyclo) alkyl, etc.]. 100pts.wt. of an epoxy resin is compounded with preferably 0.05W 5pts.wt. of the above reaction product, as a curing accelerator and an carboxylic acid anhydride, e.g. tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, etc., (preferably 0.6W1.0 equivalent on the basis of 1mol of the epoxy group) as a curing agent to give the desired composition.
