Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a screw conveyor which can simplify conveyance without deterioration in the treatment efficiency and leaving much mater to be removed at the loading bottom even where material to be removed relatively bad in fluidity such as lime stone.
CONSTITUTION: In a screw conveyor comprising a conduit 1 and a screw 2 which can be inserted thereinto axially in such a manner as to rotate freely, the end of the conduit 1 and the surrounding wall at the lower end are respectively with material intake ports 7 and 8. On the circumference thereof, arranged is a digging/raking device 9 rotatable around a lengthwise shaft of the conveyor and a material closing space 9e is formed between the device 9 and the lower end of the conduit. Here, the device 9 is rotated with a motor 10 in the direction opposite to a screw shaft 3 through transmission mechanisms 11 to 13 and at the bottom thereof, a frame 9a and digging/raking wings 9b are provided. In cooperation with a cut wing 6 and a raking wing at the lower end of the screw shaft 3, the material is conveyed upward.
