Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an H2 absorbent occluding a large amount of H2, having an appropriate equilibrium pressure and exhibiting a high reaction rate by mixing an La-Ni alloy with a specified amount of a Ti-Zr-Cr-Mn alloy, a Ca-Ni alloy, a Ti-Mn alloy or a Ti-Mn alloy or a Ti-Fe alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An La-Ni alloy 25W90% is mixed with the following alloy 75W 10%: a Ti-Zr-Cr-Mn alloy, a Ca-Ni alloy, a Ti-Mn alloy or a Ti-Fe alloy. Prior to use, the resulting H2 absorbent is pulverized to 80W120 mesh and optionally evacuated with heating. Operation composed of introduction of H2 to 50atm. and H2 degassing is then repeated about 10 times. This absorbent is used in a thermal compressor, a heat engine, etc.
