Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the run of a tape by automatically braking a couple of guide rollers at the upstream side of a tape run.
CONSTITUTION: When tape 4 is driven as shown by the arrow, tape-run-direction follow-up member 14 at the upstream side of the run of tape 4 comes in contact with guide roller 8 by turning clockwise through the run of tap 4, and consequently guide roller 8 is braked and inhibited from turning. Tape-run-direction follow-up member 13 at the downstream side, on the other hand, is turned counterclockwise to come in contact with tape guide pin 10, and guide roller 7 is therefore turned following up the run of tape 4. Once the run direction of tape 4 is reversed, tape- run-direction follow-up member 13 comes in contact with guide roller 7 and tape- run-direction follow-up memeber 14 meets tape guide pin 11. Thus, guide roller 7 is bracked and the tape is given back tension by friction with stopping roller 7, thereby stabilizing the run of the tape.
