Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a main power switch by making it possible to turn ON power through the operation of levers such as regeneration and recording levers, and to turn the power OFF through the operation of a stop lever.
CONSTITUTION: Turning one of switches 9, 10, 11, and 12 ON by operating a corresponding regeneration or recording lever closes switch 2. As a result, an alternating-current voltage from plug 3 is applied to terminals (a) and (b) of video tape recorder body 1 and a voltage developed at terminal (c) is applied to video tape recorder body 1, which starts operating. Even if the above-mentioned switch, 9, 10, 11, or 12, would be made open by pushing a stop lever, loading switch 13 is still ON, so that video tape recorder body 1 will be in operation. With loading switch 13 open, however, switch 2 is open, thereby turning the power OFF. Therefore, the need for the main power switch can be eliminated.
