Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the choking of a net-form body and let molten metal be quickly filtered by vibrating the filtering net-form body on a molten metal feed port.
CONSTITUTION: A frame 8 is disposed to the top of the molten metal feed port 4 of a die-casting machine and its one end is fixed to a molten metal feed pipe 2 by means of a support 9 composed of a leaf spring. The other end is connected to a vibrating source 10 consisting of a vibrator or the like to be reciprocatively vibrated. A metal screen or asbestos or the like is used for the net-form body 12, but if molten steel 7 is aluminum-base metals, a metal screen of galvanized mild steel wires having erosion resistance is used. A wide range of 12 to 50 mesh is used for the screen mesh and that of 12 to 18 mesh is preferable. Since the net-form body 12 is vibrating, the surface tension of the molten metal 7 is broken and the molten metal rapidly passes through the net-form body 12, whereby the occurrence of choking is obviated.
