Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cooling system for compound siamese cylinder block, in which there is provided a guide wall for flowing cooling water in one direction along opposite side faces of cylinder block, whereby flow of cooling water in cylinder block can be rendered smooth and portions located between bores can be cooled effectively.
CONSTITUTION: A guide wall 4 is formed on the outlet side of water pump 3 from which cooling water is discharged, so that cooling water discharged from water suction chamber 6 by means of pump 3 is made to flow in one direction shown by arrows in the drawing through cooling-water passage 2a located on the side of exhaust manifold 7 and to flow backward through cooling-water passage 2b located on the side of intake manifold 8. While passing through cooling-water passages 2a, 2b in one direction, cooling water is led into cooling-water passages formed in various portions of cylinder block.
