Abstract

PURPOSE:To control economically the temp. in a blast furnace in front of the tuyere, by blowing CO2-contg. gas into the blast furnace through the tuyere. CONSTITUTION:Blast furnace gas discharged from the top of a blast furnace 2 is accumulated through a dust collector 1, cold water scrubbers 3, 4, and a silencer 6 into a tank. A portion of the blast furnace gas is led through a compressor 7 to an annular pipe line installed at the outer periphery of a blast furnace tuyere, and is blown into the furnace through a nozzle 10 while the gas quantity being controlled by a valve 14. Simultaneously, hot air is blown in from a hot stove 15 through a pipe 8. The CO2 contained in the blast furnace gas is brought into contact with red-hot coke, so that it is reduced and lowers the temp. in the furnace in front of the tuyere due to its heat-absorption. This method makes it possible to control the temp. in front of the tuyere in the furnace without blowing heavy oil or steam through the tuyere.
