Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Monoazo compounds represented by the formula I, wherein R1 is aryl, aralkyl, or lower alkyl gp. which may be substituted by halogen, cyano, hydroxy, or acyloxy gp.; R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy gp.; R3 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, or acylamino gp.; R4 and R5 are H, aryl, aralkyl gp., or lower alkyl gp. which may be substd. by halogen, cyano, or acyloxy gp.; one of R6 and R7 is cyano gp. and the other a lower alkoxycarbonyl gp.
USE: Dyes providing stable and bright orange color dyeing to synthetic fibers, particularly to polyester fibers.
PREPARATION: Coupling of diazonium salt of 2-aminoimidazole of formula II with anilines of formula III gives monoazo cpd. of formula IV, of which a hydrogen atom on the imdidazole ring is substituted by R1-gp.
