Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet having the self-bonding property, without degrading the heat insulating property and soundproofing property, by subjecting a protruded sheet to specific corona dischager treatment to form an activated protruded sheet having one activated surface, and applying a pressure-sensitive adhesive to the activated surface. CONSTITUTION:A protruded sheet 1 is passed through a dielectric roll 11 and a corona electrode 13 of a solid-state corona discharge apparatus, and subjected to the corona discharge under the conditions of frequency 2-50kHz, potential difference between the electrodes 5-50kV and a treating energy 50-500W/m<2>/min. The one side of the protruded sheet is changed into an active surface having a wetting index of surface tension >=35dynes/cm, and the resultant activated surface is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive liquid 10 by a coating roll 9 and cooled to give the aimed self-bonding sheet. EFFECT:The self-bonding sheet continuously prepared can be rolled without covering with a release paper. USE:An internal damping material, heat insulating and sound-proofing material of the ceiling, wall and floor.
