Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of bacterial slime on the outer surface of a hull effectively by providing ultraviolet radiators on the full to radiate their ultraviolet rays near the waterline on the outer surface of the hull. CONSTITUTION:Preventive devices against organic adhesion are provided all around a hull near the waterline 1. Each device is provided with an ultraviolet ray reflection member 14 of a bent plate supported by wires 5 or vertical rods 8 and an ultraviolet radiator 12 like an ultraviolet lamp fixed inside the reflection member via a holding member 13 containing electric wires together with a transparent cover 11 to cover the ultraviolet radiator 12. It is also provided with a base plate 10 in one body with the ultraviolet ray reflection member 14, and stuck on a shell plate 6 of the hull via a liner 9 of a permanent magnet, soft rubber, or the like fixed on the base plate 10. In this construction, the radiation of ultraviolet rays near the waterline 1 prevents the adhesion of bacterial slime on the outer surface of the hull effectively.
