Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate, to purify, and to obtain the titled compound useful as an agricultural chemical and its intermediate, by reacting a nitrobenzonitrile derivative with a specific fluoride in a nonproton polar solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A compound (e.g., 2-nitrobenzonitrile, etc.) shown by the formula I (X is Cl, Br, I, or F; n is 0W4) is reacted with a fluoride (e.g., CsF, RbF, etc.) of an element of the first group of periodic table in a nonproton polar solvent, e.g., N,N-dimethylformamide, etc. to give a compound shown by the formula II. The reaction temperature is 50W200°C, preferably 100W140°C. An amount of the fluorinating agent is preferably 0.5W5.0 times the molar quantity of the compound shown by the formula I.
