Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for feed and exhaust of sheets of paper, in a paper feeder device of a type in which a sheet is wound round a rotary drum, and thereby enhance the operating efficiency of the device greatly, by such a construction that the rotary drum is stopped at the optimum position for feed and exhaust of each sheet.
CONSTITUTION: In this paper feeder device, sheets of paper 3 contained by a sheets cassette 2 are sent off one after another well separated by a separating roller or the like to a rotary drum 1 equipped with a leading edge holder nail 4 and a trailing edge holder nail 5 and are printed while wound round the drum 1. When, under this process, a printing command is given, a brake 29 for stopping rotation of the drum 1 shall be set free and, at the same time, the drum 1 shall be rotated by starting a paper feed motor 28, and the position signal shall be counted until an encoder 26 emits a one-turn signal of the drum 1. When the subsequent one-turn signal is emitted, counting is stopped and the result is compared with the comparison value, which shall be modified necessarily according to the result of comparison.
