Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the combustion efficiency ceasing the useless discharging of unburnt fuel by a method wherein combustion air mixed with the combustion gas is supplied to the piled layer of solid fuel to cause the combustion of the whole piled-up layer. CONSTITUTION:Solid fuel is charged in a combustion cylinder 16 to form a piled-up layer 36. To the piled-up layer 36 is supplied the combustion air through an air feeding pipe 41. A part of combustion gas exhausted from an inducing draft fan 33 is circulated to the air feeding pipe 41 through the pipe 43. Circulation volume of the combustion gas is adjusted by a temperature sensor 44, control means 45 and damper 46. In this way, a part of the combustion gas is mixed with the combustion air, thereby all cokes are combusted from the lower part of the piled layer to the upper part thereof and the generation of unburnt gas is prevented, and at the same time the production of clinker in the piled layer 36 is prevented.
