In coke ovens, when charging coal or extruding coke after dry distillation, fine coal powder or coke powder is generated from the charging inlet or near the oven lid, and coal pulverizers, etc. Coal powder and coke powder are also generated from coke processing equipment such as coal processing equipment and coke sieve branch plants.

Conventionally, these are collected by dry or wet dust collection equipment and used as part of the reducing agent when producing sintered ore, or in the case of dry coal, tar is added to form pellets and then sent to a coke oven. It is charged and reused as part of coke raw materials.

In other words, the treatment method of the present invention is to collect coal powder or coke powder generated from a coke oven or the like using a dust collection equipment, and if the collected coal powder or coke powder is dry powder, add a predetermined amount of water to humidify it. In the case of wet powder containing excess moisture, it is dehumidified using a filter press etc. to bring it to the specified humidity, then a specified amount of a binder such as pitch, tar, or tar slag is added and kneaded, and then molded into a plate shape using a molding machine. Alternatively, the molded product of coal powder, coke powder, or a mixture of these powders is broken into appropriately sized lumps during transportation or in a coal mixing machine, so it is used for metallurgical purposes. By charging it into a coke oven as a raw material for coke, it can be effectively reused.

In this invention, the humidity of the coal powder or coke powder when kneaded with the binder varies slightly depending on the particle size composition of the coal powder or coke powder, but in general, the humidity is such that it is collected by dust collection equipment in a normal coke oven. For kneading and subsequent molding, it is desirable that the moisture content be within the range of 6% to 16%; if the moisture content is below the lower limit in a dry state, good results will be obtained in terms of uniform mixing with the binder and shape retention during molding. If the moisture content exceeds the upper limit, the molding operation becomes difficult and the strength of the molded product obtained also decreases.

The binder used for kneading usually has a viscosity of 100
Pitch of about 0 to 50 Poise with a weight ratio of 4 to 6
It is preferable to add about 1.5% of the amount from the viewpoint of moldability, but it is of course possible to use tar or tar scum instead of pinch, and the amount added should be adjusted so that the molded product maintains the specified bulk density and strength. Bye.

In this invention, the shape of the molded product is plate-like or rod-like, which facilitates handling when transporting the molded product by a conveyor or packet, and prevents segregation during such transport and in the coal mixing machine. This is to make it easier to break into chunks, and of course the molded product may be provided with "stripes" at appropriate intervals.

As described above, according to the present invention, coal powder and coke powder from coke ovens etc., which have been difficult to process, can be effectively reused as molded products, and can be used as metallurgical coke raw material, for example, in a proportion of 2 to 5%. By mixing it into charged coal as a blended coal, it can be effectively reused without being scattered as dust, which can have multiple effects in terms of resource saving and pollution control.

As a result of the dry distillation test, by adding compacting coal,
There is no difference in coke strength in the case of formulation No. 2, which has a high strength level, but it actually improves in the case of compound No. 2, which has a low strength level, indicating that this treatment method is sufficiently effective.
