Conventionally, as a method for manufacturing a synthetic resin-coated metal long article, as shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 36-18680,
In order to improve the adhesion of the adhesive to the surface of the long metal object, a surface treatment liquid containing phosphoric acid or a phosphate as a main component is applied to the surface of the long metal object, and then the surface of the long metal object is treated. After washing the long object with water or hot water to completely remove the surface treatment liquid adhering to its surface, dry it and apply adhesive on it.
Furthermore, a synthetic resin was coated over it.

In addition, in order to shorten the surface treatment time as much as possible and solve the pollution problem, Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 51-65041 describes a technique in which the water washing step after surface treatment is omitted, but this method still requires the drying and baking step. The equipment costs and energy consumption for this cannot be ignored.

The gist of the present invention is to apply a surface treatment liquid containing phosphoric acid or a phosphate as a main component to the surface of a long metal object, and then wrap a string around the long metal object and squeeze the surface. A process for producing a synthetic resin-coated metal elongated object is characterized in that a treatment liquid adhering to the metal object is removed, an adhesive is applied thereon and dried, and a synthetic resin is further applied thereon.

The most suitable adhesive to be used in the present invention is determined depending on the long metal object and the type of synthetic resin for coating. For example, if the long metal object is iron wire and the synthetic resin for coating is polyvinyl chloride. In the case of resin, a solvent-based adhesive such as one in which an epoxy resin and an acrylic resin are dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone is preferably used.

The solvent for this adhesive may be any solvent as long as it dissolves the resin that is the adhesive component, but it is better to use a solvent that is compatible with water, which is the solvent for the surface treatment liquid, so that the surface treatment liquid remains on the long metal. It is preferable because it blends well and can be applied uniformly when applying the adhesive to an object.

When removing this surface treatment liquid, if too much surface treatment liquid remains on the surface of the long metal object, it will mix with the adhesive and impede its adhesive force, so it is preferable that the remaining amount is small.
