When connecting the electrode 3 to a lead □ of an external circuit including a power source, solder may be used.
This is not possible since 2 is also an oxide. Therefore, conventionally, a conductive adhesive or solder 8 is used for connection as shown in the figure. However, according to this, the conductive adhesive itself is vulnerable to external environments such as temperature and humidity, and the wax melts at relatively low temperatures and has no heat resistance, so the lead
It has the disadvantage that it can be easily removed. In addition, conventionally, the lead T is connected by inserting the electrode 3 directly into the connector, but since the electrode itself has low hardness, the electrode 3 may be scratched or peeled off when the connector is inserted or removed. It has the disadvantage of causing Therefore, an object of the present invention is to securely connect electrodes and leads, and to
The present invention provides a highly reliable liquid crystal display device that is mechanically robust and resistant to humidity.

In order to achieve such an objective, the present invention connects an antibody connecting lead to the electrode 3 instead of connecting the electrode 3 and the lead T, and treats the connecting portion where these are connected with a silane coupling agent. Specifically, the leads are electrically connected using an organic adhesive to which a silane coupling agent is added, and will be described in detail below using examples.

FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention,
Components that are the same as in FIG. 1 are designated by the same reference numerals. In the figure a, 70 is a sandwich connection lead consisting of elastic pieces 72 and 73 that branch from the lead 71 and have a tendency to move in opposite directions.
Pour the phosphor bronze plate. It can be manufactured by punching it out using a metal tool and then shaping it. As shown in FIGS. B and C, the glass plate 1, the electrode 3, and the organic conductive adhesive 11 are sandwiched between the elastic pieces 72 and 73 of the sandwiched connection lead 70. In the same figure c, 10 is the connection part between the electrode 3 and the lead 71,
This lead 70 is inserted into pressure contact with the conductive adhesive 11 containing 1% of the silane coupling agent and the surface a of the glass plate 1, and in this state, the adhesive 12 containing 1% of the silane coupling agent is applied. covered. Note that this adhesive 12 is cured by heating. Here, organic conductive adhesive 1
As No. 1, an organic adhesive to which a large amount of carbon powder or metal powder such as gold, silver, copper, or aluminum is added in addition to the above-mentioned silane coupling agent is used.

Due to the elastic force of the elastic pieces 72 and 73 of the sandwich connection lead 70, the connection between the sandwich connection lead 70 and the electrode 3 is established, but the sandwich connection lead 70 may be displaced due to external vibrations and shocks. Since there is a danger that the sandwiched connection lead 70 is fixed to the electrode 3 using an organic conductive adhesive 11, the electrical connection between them is made more secure and reliability is increased. As mentioned above, a large amount of carbon powder or metal powder is added to the organic conductive adhesive 11 to increase its conductivity. It is inferior to the ordinary organic adhesive 12 that does not contain metal powder.

Therefore, in the present invention, the organic adhesive 12 does not contain conductive material powder such as carbon powder or metal powder for the purpose of increasing its electrical conductivity, but has a silane coupling agent added thereto.
This covers the organic conductive adhesive formed to increase the reliability of the electrical connection between the sandwich lead 70 and the electrode 3, and also surrounds the connection portion between the electrode 3 and the sandwich connection lead 70. The electrode 3 and the sandwiched connection lead are fixed by covering the electrode 3 in one piece. In this way, the adhesive force of the conductive adhesive 11 and the contact base 2 increases due to the adhesive force of the silane coupling agent to inorganic and organic substances, and the sandwich connecting lead 70 is reliably connected to the electrode 3. It turns out.

FIG. 3 shows the results of a temperature/humidity cycle test of the liquid crystal display device of the present invention using the adhesive and sandwiched connection leads shown in Table 1. The resistance value between the lead terminals was measured at 25° C. to +75° C. and 95% RHll cycle for 6 hours, and those with a contact resistance of 10 KΩ or more were determined to be defective.

This is because if the resistance between the transparent electrode and the leads is 10 KΩ or more, poor contrast will occur on the element side. In the figure, ○ indicates that both the conductive adhesive and the molding adhesive contain a silane coupling agent, ● indicates that the above adhesive composition does not include the silane coupling agent, and × indicates that a conductive adhesive is Furthermore, no silane coupling agent is used in the mold adhesive. As is clear from FIG. 3, there are no defects in the structure of the present invention.

As explained above, according to the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, a silane coupling agent is added to an organic adhesive such as an ordinary adhesive or a conductive adhesive for connecting electrodes and leads. The adhesive strength of the adhesive increases and the leads are reliably connected, and if a sandwich connection lead is used as this lead, the connection of this lead becomes even more secure and robust against temperature and humidity, resulting in a display The reliability of the device is significantly improved.
