本発明は磁気テープ上に少なくとも2組の主信5 号と
その各主信号に対応する補助信号をそれぞれ記録するよ
うにした磁気記録方式に関し、それぞれの信号の安定な
記録再生が行なえるとともにこの記録再生に用いる磁気
ヘッドも安価にかつ簡単に得ることができるようにした

た場合の主信号トラック3a、3bを形成し、そして、
磁気テープ1の中心部に前記2組の主信号に関連する補
助信号を記フ0 録する1つの補助信号トラック4を形
成したもので、この例の場合は1つの補助信号トラック
4に2組の主信号の制御やこれに関連した制御に用いら
れる補助信号が記録されるため、それぞれの主信号と関
連して例えば制御が行なえるように区別■5 して記録
および再生しなければならず、したがつてこれは記録装
置や再生装置に補助信号の選別装置を必要とするため高
価になるとともに誤動作を行なうおそれがあるものであ

助信号トラツクが密接しているため、磁気ヘツドの製造
上、主信号用コアと補助信号用コアをインラインに構成
することは技術的に非常に難しく、したがつて高価とな

つ相互間にも間隔をもつ前記各主信号トラツク2a,2
b,3a,3bよりも狭幅の2つの補助信号トラツク4
a,4bを形成し、そして主信号トラツク2a,2bに
記録される主信号に関連する補助信号を他方の主信号ト
ラツク3a,3bに近い補助信号トラツク4aに記録し
、また主信号トラツク3a,3bに記録される主信号に
関連する補助信号を他方の主信号トラツク2a,2bに
近い補助信号トラツク4bに記録するようにしたもので

間のクロストークは実質上全くなくなり、またそれぞれ
の補助信号トラツクは互いに間隔をもちかつ磁気テープ
の走行方向に関して逆方向走行で再生されるものである
からその補助信号間のセパレーシヨンも充分であり、し
かも補助信号トラツクは磁気テープの中心部に形成した
ため、そのトラツク幅が狭幅であつても充分なレベルが
確保されるとともに、従来の磁気テープの端部に補助信
号トラツクを形成したもののようにテープ縁の損傷によ
る影響を受けるようなことがなく、確実な補助信号の記
録再生が行なえるものである。さらに、この磁気テーブ
の記録再生に用いる磁気ヘツドの主信号用コアと補助信
号用コアとは密接することなく、少なくとも補助信号ト
ラツクの幅よりも間隔が大きくとれるため、磁気ヘツド

の組の主信号トラックに記録される主信号に関連する補
助信号を上記一方の組の主信号トラックに近い第2の補
助信号トラックに記録し、以つて前記磁気テープの一方
向走行時上記一方の組の主信号トラックと第1の補助信
号トラックを再生し、磁気テープの他方向走行時上記他
方の組の主信号トラックと第2の補助信号トラックを再
生し、磁気テープの走行方向により主信号トラックとと
もに互いに近接する補助信号トラックも互いに逆方向か
ら再生することを特徴とする磁気記録方式。1.
