た。Conventionally, it has been known that foods containing many indigestible ingredients such as hectin, konjac, and mannan suppress increases in serum cholesterol, and in the literature, ingredients that are difficult or impossible to digest with human digestive enzymes are called "dietary fiber." It is clearly distinguished from the conventional "crude fiber" and is used in a broader sense of indigestible ingredients, which can inhibit the occurrence of colorectal cancer, harmful substances excreted by microorganisms, "Dietary fiber" has attracted attention for its ability to absorb toxic pigments and normalize serum cholesterol levels.
Alternatively, there is interest in grain hulls such as rice bran and bran, but according to the research of the present inventor, rice bran and defatted rice bran do indeed contain relatively large amounts of indigestible components such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Although it is presumed that ingesting it would suppress the rise in serum cholesterol, the fact is that the effect was not substantially mentioned above.
