A pair of rolls 1.1 with the same shape and structure are the spacer 2.
The roll 101 is disposed at a relative position via the spacer 2, and the roll 101 is fitted and fixed at its inner circumferential portion between the spacer 2 and the outer circumferential portions of the supporting members 3, 3 fixed to both sides thereof. The opposing side surfaces 131, 131 of both rolls 1, 1 are parallel, and the interval therebetween is set equal to the finishing width of the grindstone to be shaped by adjusting the thickness of the spacer 2. A rotation shaft (

is configured to rotate integrally with the rolls 1, 1. The main body of the roll 1|1 is generally made of a sintered body such as tungsten or tungsten carbide,
On the outer circumferential surfaces 12, 12, rough diamonds are dispersed and planted with their surfaces exposed almost flush with the outer circumferential surfaces 12, 12 of the main bodies of the rolls 1, 1.

Therefore, when shaping the grindstone to a predetermined width, the end face of the grindstone material w to be shaped is the outer circumferential surface 12 of the rolls 1, 1,
The grinding stone w and both rolls 1 and 1 are pressed against each other.
is relatively rotated to shear, crush and shape the grindstone material using diamonds implanted on the outer peripheral surface of the rolls, thereby obtaining a grindstone shaped product with a predetermined width determined by the distance between the opposing sides 131, 131 of both rolls 1, 1. Generally, the diamonds 41, 41, . . . and slightly larger beams 42, 42, . Both ends of the roll have the same structure so that it can be used by turning it upside down as needed. In this rotary diamond dresser, as the dressing operation is repeated, the diamond wears and its grinding ability decreases, but the main factor that determines the durability life is damage to the roll outer peripheral surface edge 121 on the width side of the grindstone to be shaped. .. be. The edge portion 121
This is the part that plays a major role in dressing the width of the grinding wheel, and is subjected to extremely harsh conditions, whereas the other roll outer circumferential flat parts equally share the load of the grinding wheel over their entire surface. . A detailed observation of the damaged state of the edge portion 121 reveals it as shown in FIG. The matrix space between the diamonds 41 and 42 is excavated in an arc shape, and some diamonds are observed to have fallen off.

This is because during operation, the matrix space, which is the main body of the roll that holds the diamond, is dug up by the lapping action of the grindstone or the floating abrasive grains that have fallen off the grindstone, reducing the diamond holding power. In view of the above-mentioned circumstances, the present invention is intended to significantly improve the durability of the rotary diamond dresser by strengthening the diamond retention force of the matrix space at each end of the roll.

That is, in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, diamonds 44, 44, . but,
In particular, along the edge 121 of the outer peripheral surface of the roll, the main diamonds 45, 45, . . . , which have a larger grain size than the diamonds 44, 44, .

6. By densely arranging the grinding wheels and narrowing the mutual gap between them, the occurrence of scratching caused by wrapping of the abrasive grains in the matrix space in this area is significantly reduced.
Therefore, the main diamonds are 45, 45. The holding power of ... is maintained for a much longer period of time than conventional products.

,46. Because the powder has a small particle size, it is not very expensive, and it is extremely economical in terms of its durability. In addition, as mentioned above, the density is local, so by appropriately selecting the spacing between the main diamonds 45, 45, etc., it is possible to make the grinding wheel shaped surface mirror-finished due to the diamond overcrowding and the resulting grinding ability of the grinding wheel. There is little risk of a decline. Especially the main diamond 45, 45.
Diamonds surrounding 46, 46.・・・
The above-mentioned fear can be completely eliminated by arranging the one closest to the outer circumferential edge of the roll slightly inside without exposing it to the side edge. Although the particle size and distribution density of the diamonds on the outer circumferential surface of the roll vary depending on the type of grindstone to be shaped and other working conditions, the particle size of the diamonds 44, 44, etc. distributed on the outer circumferential surface of the roll is the same as that of the conventional product. Diamond 42, 42,... in Figure 4
The range is almost the same as 100 to 200 stones (1/100 carat to 1/200 carat), and the main diamonds 45, 45, ...... are 40 to 12 stones.

It is desirable to set the size to about 300 pieces. Also main diamond 45,45. . . . It is desirable to use a so-called long diamond, which has a long diameter on one side, and to arrange the long diameter approximately at right angles to the rotational direction of the grindstone in order to improve the holding force in the matrix space. Regarding the distribution density of diamonds, diamonds 44, 44. . . . is in the range of 10 pieces/(177! 2 to 60 pieces/(1-J mo V12), same as the conventional diamonds 42, 42, . . . in Fig. 4, and the main Diamond 45, 45,...

This prevents the matrix space from being dug up by the abrasive grains of the grindstone as described above. As described above, the present invention provides a rotary diamond dresser for determining the width of a grinding wheel, in which comparatively small-sized diamonds are arranged surrounding the outer periphery of the main diamond implanted along the edge of the outer circumferential surface of the roll. This strengthens the holding power of the main diamond to the matrix base and significantly improves the durability of the rotary diamond dresser.
Diamond rolls are expensive, and improving their durability greatly contributes to economic efficiency and improves workability.
