Conventionally, after wrapping a waterproof membrane layer with asphalt etc. on a flat roof, a layer of leather with a diameter of 5 to 257'n is applied to protect the top surface.
A method called the gravel spreading method is used, in which washed gravel of approximately 20 mm or more is laid down in layers to a thickness of 20 mm or more, but the gravel moves due to wind and rain, walking during repairs, maintenance, etc. The thickness varies.

Therefore, it is possible to inject commercially available aqueous asphalt emulsions or synthetic resin aqueous emulsions into the gravel layer, dry them, and fix the gaps between the gravels. Even if the gravel is filled with solid asphalt or synthetic resin, the gaps between the gravel cannot be filled with solid asphalt or synthetic resin, and the waterproof layer underneath cannot be sufficiently suppressed. A large amount of waste flows out to the outside of the gravel, and in order to fill the voids between gravel with the solid content, it is necessary to repeat the pouring and drying and solidification work, and the pressing method requires a considerable amount of time and effort. This was confirmed through experiments by the inventor.

That is, the present inventor poured a commercially available asphalt emulsion (asphalt content: 50 to 65 parts by weight and remaining water: 35 to 50 parts) directly onto the N gravel layer, and fixed the gravel by evaporating the water and drying it. However, due to its low viscosity and high fluidity, the asphalt emulsion poured into the gravel layer was easily washed away, and the voids between the gravel were not filled with asphalt sufficiently, resulting in insufficient binding of the gravel and the movement of the gravel. I couldn't hold it down enough.

In addition, in the case of the above-mentioned asphalt emulsion, since it is made from straight asphalt, it has a low softening point and tends to flow easily in the summer and cracks easily in the winter.

The present invention ameliorates the drawbacks of conventional water-based emulsions as well as commercially available water-based emulsions, and provides a water-resistant coating on the top surface of the waterproof layer without the risk of fire.
To provide a construction method that quickly and easily forms a protective layer that substantially fills the voids between gravel, and at the same time provides a protective layer of good asphalt quality that improves the inferiority of straight asphalt. Then, a layer of gravel is laid out on the top of the waterproof layer applied to the roof of the building, and a prepared liquid prepared by mixing 100 parts by weight of asphalt emulsion with 20 to 50 parts by weight of bituminous powder is sprinkled on this gravel layer. It is characterized by being injected into the gaps between the gravel on the upper surface of the waterproof layer and dried and solidified in the first step.

In other words, countless pieces of gravel 3 are spread on the top surface of the waterproof layer 2.

Thus, since the bitumen solidified material 5 has appropriate viscoelasticity, it fills the gravel 3 on the waterproof layer 2 and the gravel 3 as well as the gaps 4 between the gravel 3 and firmly binds them together. A dense waterproof protective pressing layer is obtained, resulting in a protective layer 6 that can follow the shaking of the building.

As a result of various studies on the amount of bituminous powder added to the above asphalt emulsion, it was found that approximately IO weight %LJ
If the bituminous powder mentioned below is added, the amount of bituminous material adhering to the gravel surface will be too small and there is a risk that it will not be effective in binding the gravel to each other. The viscosity of the mixture increased significantly, making the spraying operation difficult and making it impossible to obtain uniform filling.

As a result of various experiments, it has been found that the appropriate amount to be added is about 20 to about 50% by weight relative to the asphalt emulsion.

By adding within this range, it is possible to smoothly spray and inject the asphalt liquid with an appropriately high concentration and viscosity, and also to bring about sufficient accumulation of asphalt in the voids between the gravels, resulting in remarkable results in binding between the gravels.

Generally, the diameter of bituminous powder is usually 250-1500 microns, and the diameter of emulsified asphalt particles is 1-5 microns, and the liquid using these together has a viscosity that is good for workability and coats the surface of gravel. The amount of bituminous material increases, which strengthens the bond between gravels and has a great effect in filling the voids between gravels.

The reason for this is that since the asphalt fine particles in the emulsion are positively charged, they electrically adhere to the surface of gravel, which is generally negatively charged, and the adhesion effect increases accordingly.
Further, the emulsion tends to decompose easily and dry quickly, which is preferable.

Next, the properties of the solidified product obtained by evaporating water from the preparation solution according to the present invention (a mixed solution of 100 parts by weight of asphalt emulsion and 40 parts by weight of blown asphalt powder with a penetration of 20 to 30) were compared to the asphalt emulsion. The results of a comparison test with the properties of solidified products obtained in the same manner are shown in the table below.

As is clear from the above, when using the preparation according to the present invention, that is, an asphalt emulsion to which the bituminous powder is added, the softening point of the solidified product is higher than that when the asphalt emulsion is spread on the ground. It is recognized that there is little change in hardness due to temperature changes, and it is stable against changes in temperature.

As described above, according to the present invention, 20 to 50 parts by weight of bituminous powder is added to the asphalt emulsion on a gravel layer laid on the surface of a waterproof layer such as an asphalt waterproof layer to appropriately increase the asphalt content and viscosity. The prepared solution is spread and injected into the gaps between the gravel, so that the injection and filling work can be carried out smoothly and quickly, and a sufficient amount of the dried and solidified solution can be used to ensure that the gaps between the gravel are filled. This improves the binding between gravels and creates a dense holding layer, and due to the addition of bituminous powder, it is extremely stable compared to the dry solidified product, and is good for waterproofing layers. This has the effect of providing a protective protective layer.
