As carbide-based sintered alloys of this kind, alloys mainly consisting of tantalum carbide and alloys mainly consisting of niobium carbide are known, but the former has excellent corrosion resistance and a golden color, but the disadvantage is that the material is too expensive, and the latter has poor corrosion resistance and is not golden in color (it is grayish white).

Similarly, there are alloys based on titanium nitride as nitride-based alloys, which are satisfactory in terms of corrosion resistance, color tone, and price, but have poor wettability with binders, making it difficult to obtain dense and strong alloys. For this reason, it is rarely used for this type of application.

The present invention aims to provide an alloy that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks, and its gist is that titanium nitride weight - 40 weight ratio,
It is a decorative golden sintered alloy having a composition of 10 to 30% by weight of nickel and the balance being niobium carbide.

The reason why the content of titanium nitride is limited to 10 to 40% by weight is that if it is less than 10% by weight, the color tone will be grayish white and the corrosion resistance will be poor.If it exceeds 40% by weight, the sinterability will decrease and the density This is because the strength decreases.

The reason why nickel as a bonding material is limited to 10 to 30% by weight is because if it is less than 10% by weight, the strength of the sintered alloy is insufficient for practical purposes, and if it exceeds 30% by weight, a decrease in hardness is observed.

Moreover, the present alloy is non-magnetic at room temperature and has a specific gravity of approximately 8.
It is particularly excellent as a material for watches because it is lighter and cheaper than, for example, tantalum carbide, which has a specific gravity of 14 or more.
