(ハーフ)すなわち磁気テープカセットの改良に関する
もので、静電気に起因する種々の問題を解決することを
目的とする。

従来、磁気テープが走行中に発生する静電気に起因する
トラブルをさけるため、磁性層のバインダに帯電防止剤
を混入したり、テープ裏面にカーボンをコーティングす
る等の磁気テープにおける改良がなされているが、磁性
層のみ表面抵抗を低下させても静電的トラブルは充分除
去されず、表面抵抗が低すぎても逆にトラブルが著しく
増加する現象も見られるし、テープ裏面にカーボン等を
コーティングしたりすると、テープが厚くなり、長時間
記録ができなくなり、またこれらのテープ処理法は非常
に価格高になるという問題があつた。

ることを確認した。

ープの走行性を検討した結果、静電的粘着力に起因する

テープ鳴き等は全く発生しなかつた。これらの良結果が
得られる理由は定かではないが、帯電した磁気テープの
両面の電気的結合により、電荷が磁気テープの表面と裏
面の間で移動し、テープ表面の不均一な帯電を中和除去
しているのではないかと推察される。
