In general, the sheets printed by a printing machine (printed sheets) are counted by a predetermined mechanism and then sorted by a certain number of sheets in the delivery section, and at the same time, the number of sheets in each category and the cumulative number of sheets are digitally displayed on the display tube. It is becoming more and more recognized by workers.

By the way, the counting method generally employed in the past is derived from a pulse generator 10 provided in the printing press and an occupancy detector 16 for detecting occupancy of the printing press in the first unit 12 or final unit 14 of the printing press. Signal delivery unit 18
The tape is sent to a sorting device 20, such as a tape inserter, and a sheet number display 22, etc., provided in the printer, and the tape is inserted between the printed sheets 24 every preset number of sheets. The pulse generator 10 can be installed in a cylinder or the like, such as a limit switch, a proximity switch, etc., so that the cylinder of the printing press makes one revolution and takes out one signal each time a sheet 26 passes. be. In the path for transmitting signals from the pulse generator 10 to the sorting device 20, an occupancy detector 16 and a sorting device activation switch 28 are interposed in series.

For this purpose, the occupancy detector 16 and the switch 2 for operating the sorting device
If neither 8 is entered, the sorting device 20 will not operate, but
Normally, the labor shortage detector 16 is automatically turned on immediately after the printing press is started and mechanical labor is completed, while the sorting device activation switch 28 is turned on when the test printing is performed in the delivery section 18 prior to main printing. It is inserted by the worker afterwards. The sorting device 20 remains on even during subsequent interruptions in printing. Next, to explain the form of conventional sorting work, as mentioned above, test printing is first performed before actual printing. First, when the operator turns on the printing press start switch, the pulse generator 10 is activated. Next, when the paper feed switch is turned on, paper feeding starts and at the same time the body insertion detector 1
6 is entered automatically.

As a result, in the case of an offset printing machine, the impression cylinder 32 comes into contact with the blanket cylinder 30, test printing is started, and the printing state of the printed paper 24 discharged from the delivery section 18 is determined by the operator. be inspected. If the operator agrees to move on to the actual printing, the operator inserts a blank sheet or other item 36 into the pile of printed sheets 34 of the test printing, as shown in FIG. 2a. At the same time, the switch 28 for operating the sorting device is turned on, and the number of printed sheets begins to be counted from here. After counting the predetermined number of sheets, the tape 38
will be inserted automatically. Similar counting and classification will be performed thereafter. When printing is completed and the operator turns on the cylinder removal switch, the supply of sheets from the feeder section 46 is stopped, and the cylinders are removed one unit at a time starting from the first unit, and the sheets in the printing machine are printed. It is discharged to the delivery section 18.

At the same time, when the detection unit 40 of the waist insertion detector 16 detects the waist omission, counting immediately stops. Therefore, when the sorting device activation switch 28 is turned on, the delivery section 18
Since there are continuous sheets up to 1, the sheets are counted starting from the sheet immediately above the article 36, and the tape 38 is inserted every predetermined number A of sheets.

By the way, in the uppermost sorting section, when the printing of the predetermined number B of sheets in this sorting section is completed and the operator turns on the body removal switch, the detection unit 40 detects the body removal, and at this point the counting of the sorting device 20 starts. However, at this point, there are still X sheets left between the first unit 12 to which the detection section 40 is attached and the delivery section 18, and all of these sheets are discharged to the delivery section 18. The sheets are stacked on top of the B sheet, resulting in a total of (B sheets) + (X sheets) - Z1 sheet. In other words, the above x sheets are not counted by the sorting device 20. Therefore, after removing the pile of printed sheets from the delivery unit 18, the number of sheets in the uppermost section must be manually counted, and the surplus must be extracted, which requires a lot of effort. There is a problem.

Note that the detection part 42 of the body insertion detector 16 is connected to the final unit opening 4.
Some models have a chain 4 in the delivery section 18.
Since there is a printed paper held in 4, these become X sheets, and the above problem is not solved. Furthermore, if a double or twisted feeding of sheets at the feeder section 46 occurs just before the boundary of the section into which the tape 38 is to be inserted, the tape 38 may be fed across the two sections as shown in FIG. 2b. There will be a discrepancy in the number of sheets.

In other words, in the lower section 70, for example, the count at the delivery section is the 99th sheet (as the appropriate number of sheets AlOO in each section)
If an abnormal supply such as double sheet stacking occurs at the feeder section, the printing machine will be unloaded and stop after all the paper in the printing machine has been ejected.Meanwhile, the roll-in detector 16 will detect the roll-out and at this point it will be classified. Counting of device 20 stops.

In other words, the X sheets existing between the detection section 40 and the delivery section 18 at the time the counting stops are stacked in excess. These X pieces are not counted. After that, when the cylinder enters and printing starts, the sorting device starts counting and when it counts only one sheet, the sorting device adds up the count value of 99 before stopping and calculates the appropriate number of sheets A-10.
It is determined that there are no more tapes, and the tape 38 is inserted. However, at this time, the last counted tape has not reached the delivery section 18, so the tape 38 is actually inserted when 99 (=A-1)+X tapes have been stacked. After all, the lower category 7
Inside 0, there are Z3 sheets, which are X-1 more than the predetermined number of A sheets, and in the section 71 above, there are Z4 sheets, which are X-1 fewer than A sheets, and the same problem as in the above case occurs. The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned deficiencies of the prior art, and even when printing is completed or during printing, even if body removal occurs just before the boundary of the section, it is possible to eliminate the problem in all sections. Sorting device 2 that can make the number of printed sheets 24 appropriate
0 operating method is provided herein.

The main body 16 or the detection section 42 of the body insertion detector may be installed in the fourth unit 14, which is the final unit. The delivery section 18 is provided with a sorting device 20 such as a tape inserter, a sheet number display 22, and a sorting device operating switch 28.

These are connected in series with the pulse generator 10 and the body insertion detector 16. In this way, the sheets are fed one by one from the stack of sheets 26 stacked on the feeder section 46 to the unit, for example, after being printed in four colors, they are returned to the delivery section 18 as printed sheets 24. are piled up in piles,
During this time, in the first unit 12, the pulse generator 10 generates a pulse every time a sheet passes, and based on this pulse, the counter of the sorting device 20 operates to separate the tapes from each predetermined number of sheets. 38 between the printed paper 24,
Further, the number of printed sheets is digitally displayed on the sheet number display 22.

Since the pulse generator 10 does not directly extract the signal from the sheet, when printing is completed or when main printing is restarted after an accident such as double-sheet feeding just before the boundary of the division, the pulse generator 10 does not directly extract the signal from the sheet of paper passing through the printing machine. As mentioned above, the number of numbers does not match the count number of the sorting device 20, but in order to eliminate this error, the circuit shown in FIG. 4 is constructed.

During test printing, the sorting device 20 does not need to be operated, so only the pulse generator 10 and body insertion detector 16 are activated. As shown in FIG. 3a, at the same time as inserting an article 36 such as blank paper, the sorting device operating switch 28 is turned on to start printing.

At this time, since the rotary press is rotating, the pulse generator 10 consisting of a limit switch, a proximity switch, etc. outputs one signal for each passing sheet, and this signal is transmitted to the signal converter 48 and the waveform shaper 50. After that, it becomes a waveform as shown in a in FIG. 5, and reaches the differentiating circuit 52 and the gate circuit 54. The signal output from the differentiating circuit 52 enters the shift register 56 as shown in FIG. 5b. On the other hand, the signal c in FIG. 5 has been generated from the body insertion detector 16 since the start of test printing, and this signal reaches the shift register 56 after passing through the signal converter 58 and the waveform shaper 60. .

Further, the shift register 56 is set in advance to delay the signal C output from the body insertion detector 16 by X times. The unit number selector 62 is provided to give versatility to the sorting device 20, and is provided so that it can be replaced with a printing press having a different number of units.

In the shift register 56, the input signal is delayed by X pulses set by the unit number selector 62 in accordance with the timing of the signal b in FIG.
The body insertion signal of c in the figure is cm1, c-2, c-3 of Fig. 5.
, d, and eventually the signal d reaches the gate circuit 54 and opens the gate. When gate circuit 54 opens, signal a flows out from the gate circuit as signal e. The signal e then passes through an output amplifier 64 and a signal converter 66, and then reaches a sorting device 20, such as a tape inserter, for inserting the tape 38.

If necessary, the sheet number display 22 may also be activated by the signal e to digitally display the sheet number A in each category. By the way, the operator makes a test print, looks at the printed paper, and judges that the printing condition is good, and as shown in FIG. 3A, inserts an article 36 such as blank paper and at the same time turns on the sorting device operating switch 28 to start actual printing. . Since the barrel has already been inserted, the barrel loading signal c passes through the shift register 56, and the signal d is output in accordance with the timing of the signal b.
is output, the gate circuit 54 is opened, and the signal e is output. Therefore, when the switch 28 is turned on, the signal e reaches the sorting device 20 and counting is started. On the other hand, since the sheets exist continuously up to the delivery section 18 when the switch 28 is turned on, the sheets are counted starting from the sheet immediately above the article 36, and the sorting device 20 The tape 38 is inserted. When printing is completed and the operator turns on the cylinder removal switch, the feeding of sheets from the feeder section 46 is stopped, and the cylinders are removed in order from the first unit 12, and X sheets in the printing machine are printed. while being discharged to the delivery section 18.

At the same time, the detection unit 40 detects body removal, and the shift register 56 shifts and delays the body removal signal c by the number of sheets present between the detection unit 40 and the delivery unit 18. Thereafter, the gate circuit 54 is closed to stop the output of the signal e, and the counting of the sorting device 20 is stopped. In other words, the sorting device stops counting after the last sheet in the printing press reaches the delivery section and is counted. Therefore, in the uppermost sorting section, the number of sheets stacked on the delivery section and the count of the sorting device 20 match.

If there is an abnormal supply of sheets, the supply of sheets is stopped, and the body removal occurs automatically, which is detected by the body insertion detector 16,

The number of sheets stacked on the stack and the count of the sorting device 20 match. At this time, the switch 28 for activating the sorting device remains on. After the double stacked sheets are removed by the operator and the paper is inserted, the supply of sheets from the feeder part 46 is resumed, and the signals A,
b and c are generated and these signals flow into the shift register 56. The shift register 56 is a unit number selector 62.
(previously) The dial has been adjusted so that a delayed signal is output, and the signal c is the same as the signals cm1, c-2,
As shown in c-3, the signal deviates from each pulse generated by the pulse generator 10 and eventually becomes a signal d, which enters the gate circuit.

Therefore, the number of sheets that have arrived at the delivery section 18 and the count of the sorting device 20 match, and despite the occurrence of blanking, the tape 38 is inserted every predetermined number of sheets A as shown in FIG. 3b1. , it will be classified accurately. Note that during actual printing, the operator may perform sampling in the delivery section 18, and therefore, as shown in FIG. Preferably, a reducer 68 is provided.

According to the circuit with this configuration, the signal going from the shift register 56 to the sorting device 20 bypasses the subtracter 68, and the pulses of the signal e are removed by the number of sheets to be sampled, so that the sorting device 20 will not perform empty counting. . As described above, the present invention uses a shift register to generate a signal output from the body insertion detector for the same number of pulses as the number of sheets that can be interposed between the detection position of the body insertion detector and the delivery section. After shifting and delaying, a signal is output to the gate circuit to open the gate circuit and send the pulses output from the pulse generator to the sorting device, so that the topmost section when printing is completed as in the conventional method Furthermore, even if the printing press is temporarily stopped just before the boundary between the categories, there will be no discrepancy in the number of sheets in each category, and the number of printed materials can be managed appropriately.
