A sealing material is separately formed to prevent exhaust gas from flowing between the two and unpurified exhaust gas from being discharged, and is installed between the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical honeycomb catalyst carrier and the inner circumferential surface of the case. However, since the cushion body and sealing material must be installed separately, assembly workability is poor, and the sealing material moves due to vibration, resulting in poor airtightness and exhaust gas leaking to the outside. This is to remove the flaws.

This is flattened as shown in Figure 2 to form double flat parts Ia and Ib.
A rod-shaped sealing material 2 is placed in the center in the longitudinal direction between the two, and the parts other than the rod-shaped sealing material 2 are brought into close contact with each other as shown in FIG. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, this contact portion Ic is corrugated to form a corrugated portion Id, thereby forming the sealant-filled cushion body 3.

発明の使用状態について説明する。The rod-shaped sealing material is made by flattening and rolling a knitted body 2a made of stockinette knitted metal wire as shown in Fig. 10, or by further compressing the rolled material (D), or by squeezing it through a die (D), Fig. 11. As shown in Fig. 10, the outer periphery of the roll 2a is further covered with a braid 2b of a heat-resistant material such as asbestos or Kao wool, and as shown in Fig. 12, a thin metal wire is wrapped around a rope 2c of a heat-resistant material such as asbestos or Kao wool as a core. A knitted body 2a made of stockinette knitted into a roll, as shown in Figure 13, the one shown in Figure 12, the outer periphery covered with a heat-resistant material braid 2b such as asbestos or copper wool, or the above-mentioned metal (fine metal wire instead of wire). For example, a composite wire of asbestos yarn is used.Next, the state of use of the present invention will be explained.

できる。FIG. 14 shows a case where the first embodiment of the present invention is used, in which a sealing material-filled cushion body 3 is wound around the outer periphery of a cylindrical honeycomb catalyst body 4, is loaded into a casing body 5, and is placed at both ends of the casing body 5. The exhaust gas inflow section 6 and the exhaust gas outflow section 7 are attached to the section. Exhaust gas flows into the cylindrical honeycomb catalyst carrier from the exhaust gas inlet 6 and is discharged from the exhaust gas outlet 7. Exhaust gas flowing between the outer periphery of the cylindrical honeycomb catalyst carrier 4 and the casing body 5 is blocked by the annularly wound sealing material 2 and is not discharged to the outside.
Further, the cylindrical honeycomb catalyst carrier 4 is elastically supported by the corrugated portion Id. According to the present invention, the sealing material is integrally enclosed in the cushion body and cannot be moved, so assembly is easy.Furthermore, the sealing material moves due to vibration, which deteriorates the airtightness and allows exhaust gas to escape outside. It is possible to reliably prevent leakage.
