Therefore, in the conventional example, two pieces of cushioning material, upper and lower, are applied to the core wire connection part to cover this connection part, and hard press plates are applied to the upper and lower parts of the cushioning material.
In addition, the covered state was fixed by tightening both push plates with bolts and nuts, and the thus covered connecting portion was housed within the protector body.

However, in this conventional example, there is a limit to the number of optical fiber cores in order to neatly store the connecting parts of optical fiber cores with extra length, and if too many optical fiber cores are stored, the optical fiber cores will become tangled. A problem arises in that it is difficult to handle. Further, in the conventional example, since there is a spacer for fixing the protector body within the sleeve, the number of parts is large, the structure is complicated, and the work of connecting parts is troublesome. The purpose of Akira Hongen is to solve the above problems, to create an optical cable connection part that uses fewer components, greatly increases the number of connected optical fibers that can be stored, and that can be easily coated and protected. It is on offer.

A protector body, a cushion material for holding a connected optical fiber core wire housed in the protector body, and a pusher lid that can be fixed to the protector body by pressing the cushion material from above. In the optical cable connection section, the sleeve can be divided in the longitudinal direction at the center, and both side plate parts of the protector body are formed into a substantially semicircular shape, and the protector body formed in this way has two parts. It is characterized in that the sleeves are assembled back to back as a set and housed so that the side plate portions thereof are in contact with the inner circumferential surfaces of both the divided sleeves.

The bundle b is divided into two parts, and one bundle has a protector body 5a consisting of a bottom plate part 3a and both side plate parts 4a, 4a, as shown in the opening of FIG.
The extra length is wound into a loop shape and stored in the bundle, and the other bundle is a protector body 5 consisting of a bottom plate part 3b and both side plate parts 4b, 4b.
The extra length is similarly wound into a loop and stored in b.
The bottom plate parts 3a, 3b of the protector bodies 5a, 5b are assembled back to back, and the bottom plate parts 3a, 3b are assembled back to back as shown in FIG.
One end 6a, 6b of each is fixed to the end of the cable 1a by a stop 8a, 8a, and at the same time the other end 7a, 7b is fixed to the end of the cable 1b by a stop 8b, 8.
It is fixed by b. Both side plates 4 of protector body 5a
The cross-sectional shape of a and 4a is composed of a flat side surface and an arcuate portion, and the entire side plate portions 4a and 4a are approximately semicircular arc-shaped, and a slight gap is provided at the abutting portions of the two ends. . Further, both side plate portions 4b, 4b of the protector body 5b have the same shape as the protector body 5a. Since the protector body 5a and the protector body 5b are assembled back to back, the center portions of the side plate portions 4a, 4a and the both side plate portions 4b, 4b have a substantially cylindrical shape. The protector bodies 5a and 5b are formed of metal plates, such as aluminum plates, but may also be made of plastic plates. The optical fiber core wires 2a, 2b connected to the protector bodies 5a, 5b having such shapes are housed in the following manner.

The protector bodies 5a, 5b fitted into the sleeve 12 have their side plates 4a, 4a and 4b, 4b in close contact with the inner circumferential surface of the sleeve 12 due to their respective repulsive forces. At this time, the side plates 4a, 4a and 4b, 4b are in close contact with each other astride the inner circumferential surfaces of both the two halves. Sleeve 12
Both end portions 15, 15 of the cables 15, 15 have tapered tips, and their inner diameters are equal to the outer diameters of the cables 1a, 1b. The sleeve 12 housing the protector bodies 5a and 5b in this manner is coated with, for example, adhesive tape for waterproofing at the abutting portion at the center and at both ends.

。As mentioned above, in the optical cable connection part of the present invention, the optical fiber core wire is divided into two parts and can be housed in two protector bodies housed in the sleeve, so there is no need to tangle more optical fiber core wires than in the past. It can be easily delivered. In addition, the number of parts does not increase because the protector body only requires two pieces of the same shape to be assembled back to back.Furthermore, the protector body has a semicircular shape that also serves as a spacer to hold the protector body inside the sleeve. Since it has arcuate side plates, it has the advantage of reducing the number of parts and simplifying assembly.
