この凹みのみを埋める仮付溶接を行つた後に、グライン
ダー等により仮付部をその前後の開先形状と同形状に仕
上げて前記V型またはU型開先を埋める連続溶接を行う
ことを特徴とする突合せ継手の片側裏波サブマージドア
ーク溶接方法である。本発明の実施例を図面に沿つて説
明すると、第2図乃至第4図において、板状母材1のV
型開先の溶接継手部に十分な大きさのルートフェース4

利用して仮付溶接するので、仮付ビードの喉厚が十分に
確保され仮付ビードの必要な強度が容易に得られ仮付ビ
ードの割れを完全に防止でき、開先内の仮付による形状
的不連続性も解消して継手部の溶接欠点を生ずることも
なく、また、仮付ビードを考慮して開先断面積を特に大
きくしておく必要もないので、裏波確保のためのアーク
エネルギーも小さくてすみ経済的であり、これは歪量の
