In operation, the cutting element has a diluting effect on the hair, which occurs during the reciprocation of the cutting element 5 between the position shown in solid lines and the position shown in dashed lines 23 in FIG.
This is due to the fact that only the hair that is trapped within the recess 20 is cut, although the end of the hair is shown in a forward position.

[Claims] 1. A comb-shaped stationary cutting element and a comb-shaped cutting element that can be driven relative to the comb-shaped cutting element, each cutting element having a row projecting from the cutting element in a direction transverse to the direction in which the teeth extend. In a hair-trimming device such as a hair-trimming device having a cutting blade with teeth of the other cutting element, each tooth being arranged to cooperate with the cutting blade of the teeth of the other cutting element, any position of the driveable cutting element relative to the stationary cutting element. two teeth of each pair of cooperating teeth at least partially overlap each other, a space exists between every two adjacent pairs of cooperating teeth, and at least one of the cutting elements A hair-trimming device characterized in that the cutting edge of each tooth is formed by a concave portion of the side edge of the tooth. 2. Hair-trimming device according to claim 1, characterized in that the movement of the drivable cutting element takes place at least partially in a direction extending transverse to the direction in which the teeth of the cutting element extend. 3. Claim characterized in that the drivable cutting element is reciprocatable in a direction parallel to the direction in which the teeth of said cutting element project therefrom, the two teeth of each pair of cooperating teeth substantially coincident. The hair trimming device according to claim 1 or 2. 4. A hair-trimming device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that one or each side edge of each tooth of the immovable cutting element has a concave portion constituting a cutting blade. 5. The or each cutting blade of each tooth of the immovable cutting element extends transversely to the direction in which the tooth projects from the cutting element, and the or each cutting blade of each tooth of the drivable cutting element is located at the distal end of the tooth. 5. A hair-trimming device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the teeth extend transversely to the direction in which they project from the cutting element. 6. The distance, measured in the direction in which the teeth project from the cutting element, between the cutting blades of the two teeth of a pair of cooperating teeth in all predetermined positions of the drivable cutting element relative to the stationary cutting element cooperates. 6. Hair-trimming device according to claim 1, characterized in that the distance between the cutting blades of the two teeth of one pair of teeth is different. 7 Each cutting element comprises two rows of teeth, the first row of teeth extending in a direction substantially parallel to the direction in which the drivable element reciprocates, and the second row of teeth extending in a direction substantially parallel to the direction in which the drivable element reciprocates. Hair-trimming device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that it extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement.
