When applying heat treatment to a metal annular body, especially a thin-walled metal annular body with a relatively large diameter, it is common to experience distortion and deformation of the annular body. If deformation occurs in the body material, not only will subsequent finishing work be laborious, but if the deformation is large, the product will be defective.

In view of the above, the present invention has been made for the purpose of providing a method for heat treating an annular body that makes it possible to minimize the deformation that occurs during heat treatment. A metal annular body is placed on a surface plate in a heated state, a spherical body is brought into contact with the upper edge of the annular body over the entire circumference, and the annular body is cooled while being pressed against the surface plate with the spherical surface. The present invention relates to a heat treatment method for a metal annular body.

以下に図示の実施例により本発明の詳細な説明する。The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the illustrated embodiments.

In FIG. 1, a metal annular body 1 heated to a predetermined processing temperature is immediately placed on a flat surface plate 2, and a pressing body 5 whose lower surface is a spherical surface 4 is pressed so that the spherical surface is within the upper end of the annular body 1. The annular body is pressed against the peripheral edge 3 so as to be in contact with the entire circumference, and the annular body is cooled while being pressurized between it and the surface plate.

When performing heat treatment as described above, the annular body 1 is held between the surface plate 2 and the spherical surface 4 in a pressurized state during the cooling process from the treatment temperature, and the spherical surface 4 is held in a pressurized state. 1, the force F1 that presses it downward, that is, toward the flat surface plate 2 side
At the same time, a force F2 is applied in a direction that expands this radially outward.

Therefore, the annular body 1 is cooled while maintaining its perfect circular state due to the action of the expansion force F2, so that distortion due to heat treatment is effectively prevented.

Here, if the radius of curvature r of the spherical surface 4 on the lower surface of the pressing body 5 becomes excessively large, the expansion force F

Moreover, if the radius of curvature r becomes excessively small, the ratio of F2 to Fo becomes large, and if the pressing force becomes large, the annular body 1
The upper end is expanded, making it easier to increase the diameter of the upper end.

° In the present invention, the radius of curvature r of the lower spherical surface of the pressing body 5 is set to about 372 to 10 times the radius r of the annular body 1, although the width varies considerably depending on the material of the annular body to be treated, the processing temperature, etc. Effects can be obtained.

as described above, and subjected to heat treatment according to the method of the invention;
An annular element material with less deformation can be obtained, and it is possible to significantly reduce the defective rate due to deformation.
