The operator determines the character name from the displayed pattern and inputs the corresponding character name using the keyboard. In this case, there are only a few types of characters, and in some cases, the keyboard operation is easy, but for example, kanji, hiragana, katakana, alphabets, etc.
As the number of characters such as numbers and symbols increases, searching for the appropriate key when keying in on a character keyboard becomes a great deal of effort.

詳細に説明する。In addition, in general, in a character reading device, the reading format of the form is determined in advance, and in a character reading device that reads multiple character types, it is necessary to decide which character type to use for all the characters to be read on the form. That is, it is determined in advance which character type dictionary is used for recognition determination. For example, when discussing the three character types of alphabets, numbers, and katakana, there are eight types of combinations, but if a character pattern like the one shown in Figure 1 becomes unreadable and appears on the display, the operator If it is a numeric character, it will be "5"; if it is an alphabetic character, it will be "S"; if it is an alphabetic character or a numeric character, the character name will be input based on information such as character shape and context. If Figure 1 and 2 are also numbers, then
0” in kana would be “ro”. There was a drawback that the input characters differed depending on the Kendori character type. In order to eliminate these drawbacks, the present invention clearly indicates the keyboard corresponding to the type of character on the operator's keyboard when an unrecoverable character occurs, thereby reducing the operator's effort when inputting the keyboard and also improving the operator's input. This will be explained in detail below.

In a general character reading device, the form format is stored in the character reading device in advance, and the same identification code is written on the form for the same form, and the character reading device first reads this identification code and selects the appropriate one. Students are now familiar with the form of forms. Various types of information are described in the form format, but character types are also often described.
Correspondingly, the character discussion device also has a function to detect character types. With this function, even if an unreadable result is output, the present invention detects the character type, displays the unreadable character on the display, and lights up the lamp under the keyboard for the corresponding character type, as shown in Figure 2. let For example, if the character type is "kana", the kana keyboard 3 lights up, and if the character type is "kana" or "number", the kana keyboard 3 and the numeric keyboard 5 light up.

As shown, the distinction between character types may be displayed next to the character pattern.

Similarly, as shown in FIG. 4, the same effect can be obtained by providing lamps for each character type on the keyboard and lighting the lamps for the corresponding character types.
