Figures 1a and 1b show a conventional optical fiber coating remover, in which the proximal ends of a pair of levers a and b are pivotally supported by a hinge pin c, and each of the levers a and b is Upper and lower blocks d and e that can face each other are provided at the tips, and cutting blades f and g that can face each other are attached to each block d and e, and the lower block e has an optical fiber h whose coating is to be removed. A groove j for placing the optical fiber h, and guides j, j for holding the optical fiber h stationary are provided, and the upper block d has a holding groove k for holding the optical fiber h in alignment with the groove i, and Storage holes 1, 1 are formed into which the guides i, i can be inserted. To remove the covering of the optical fiber h, insert the same fiber into the groove i of the lower block e, and press one lever a. If the upper and lower blocks d and e are brought into contact with each other by swinging in the direction of the other lever b, the periphery of the coating of the optical fiber h will be damaged, so the optical fiber can be moved while maintaining the frontal state of the upper and lower blocks d and e. The coating is removed by pulling out h along the groove i.

However, in such a conventional coating remover,
As shown in the figure, shoulders of silicone, etc. of the covering material accumulate in the hatched gap m, but since it is not easy to remove this, the optical fiber h is guided with the gap m left in place. I have no choice but to set it in between.

However, it is difficult to correctly set the optical fiber h with debris remaining, so if you leave it as it is, one lever
If you press down, the optical fiber h will be cut. The present invention attempts to solve the above problems by providing a discharge member on one of the levers for pushing out the shoulder and providing a discharge port on the other lever for discharging debris. To explain with reference to an example, as shown in FIG. 2, a pair of levers la. l
The proximal ends of the levers b are connected by a hinge pin 2, and the respective levers la,
lb is configured so that it can rotate freely around the hinge pin 2, and an upper block 2a is provided at the tip of each lever la, lb.
and attach the lower block 2b.

Each block 2a, 2b has a recess 3a, 3b, and a fiber holding groove 4a extending in the longitudinal direction of the levers la, lb, as clearly shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
and a total number of phi/layers 4b. Further, fiber-coated cutting blades 5a, 5b are provided in the recesses 3a, 3b of the upper and lower blocks 2a, 2b so that the cutting edges are perpendicular to the respective grooves 4a, 4b. These cutting blades 5a.
The tip of the cutting edge 5b protrudes slightly upward from the bottom of each groove 4a, 4b, so that when the upper block 2a is pressed against the lower block 2b, the cutting blade 5a, 5b bites into the coating of the optical fiber. It has become. The scratches on the coating caused by biting must be on almost the same circumference, so when the upper block 2a is pressed against the lower block 2b, the cutting blade 5a of the upper block 2a is almost directly above that of the lower block 2b. They are arranged so that they can face each other. In the drawings, reference numeral 6 denotes a discharge member, which is installed in the recess 3a of the upper block 2a.

The tip of the member 6 extends beyond the covered cutting blade 5a into the recess 3.
It protrudes from a. The same material 6 has a fiber relief groove 7 as clearly shown in FIG. The optical fiber on the lower block 2b can be inserted into the fiber escape groove 7. Furthermore, on the bottom of the recess 3b of the lower block 2b,
A waste outlet 8 is provided as shown in Figure 6.
The positional relationship with the discharge member 6 is such that the upper and lower blocks 2a, 2b are positioned directly below the member 6 when the upper and lower blocks 2a and 2b are in the bale surface.

Next, when using such a coating remover, first, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the optical fiber F is
When placed on the fiber layer groove 4b formed in the lower block 2b and pushing down the upper block 2a toward the lower block 2b, the discharge member 6 is inserted into the recess 3b of the lower block 2b. Since the optical fiber F is inserted into the fiber escape groove 7, the discharge portion 6 enters the recess 2b so as to straddle the optical fiber F.

At this time, if there is a covering material in the recess 3b, the discharge member 6 pushes the covering material down toward the bottom of the recess 3b, so most of it is discharged from the waste discharge port 8. It turns out. On the other hand, when the upper and lower blocks 2a and 2b approach each other by pushing down the upper block 2a,
The pair of cutting blades 5a, 5b bite into the coating of the optical fiber F, and when the upper and lower blocks 2a, 2b are in a bushy state, the coating is scratched to an appropriate depth.

Then, when the optical fiber F is pulled out from between the upper and lower blocks 2a and 2b while maintaining the covered state, the coating is removed. In addition, although the discharge member 6 is provided in the upper block 2a in the above, it may be provided in the lower block 2b.

As described above, in the present invention, a discharge member is provided on one side of the lever, a fiber escape groove is formed in the same material to allow the optical fiber to enter freely, and a shoulder discharge port is provided on the other lever, so that the coating can be cut. The shoulder of coating material that accumulates near the blade is automatically discharged from the waste outlet by the discharge member.
Therefore, unlike the conventional example, it is not difficult to properly set the optical fiber in the fiber groove, and therefore, the situation where the optical fiber itself is cut can be prevented.
