Claims (1)
対向面に設けた基板間に液晶および二色性色素を添加し
て液晶セルを構成し、この液晶セルの前面もしくは後面
に第１の偏光板を設けるとともに、この偏光板と一体も
しくは別体でかつ前記各表象部分に対応して光を各表象
部分で表示する色とする性質を有するカラーフィルタを
設け、ネガ表示にて前記各表象部分を多色カラー表示す
るゲストホスト型の液晶表示装置において、前記二色性
色素には、光を前記第１の表象部分で表示する色と補色
もしくは補色に近い関係にある色とする性質のものを用
い、前記能の表象部分に対応する液晶セルの前記第１の
偏光板を設けた面とは反対の面に前記第１の偏光板の偏
光軸と同一方向に偏光軸を合わせた第２の偏光板を設け
