Next, the area around the repaired area is pre-painted and a top coat is applied. The above-mentioned pre-painting treatment around the repaired area is to provide a foothold to improve the adhesion between the undamaged old paint film around the repaired area and the repair paint film. This is done to remove attached wax, oil, etc.

These compounds have a sufficient ability to polish old paint films without defects, but compounds that have penetrated into the recesses of roughened paint films or complex and narrow places such as recesses in automobile bodies etc. cannot be sufficiently removed with a solvent, and as a result, repellency and the like occur when a repair paint is applied, which impairs the appearance of the paint film, and the current situation is that it is necessary to start over from the above-mentioned base treatment again. In view of the above-mentioned current situation, the present invention proposes that an excellent repair paint film can be obtained by using an abrasive that has the same abrasive function as a compound and can be easily removed by washing with water. The purpose of this invention is to provide a unique pretreatment method for automotive refinish painting.

Something about the size of a mountain is appropriate. If the particle size is less than 10 peaks, it will not be able to perform its original function as an abrasive, and if it exceeds 200r, the scratches that occur when polishing the old paint film without defects around the repaired area will become too deep. In order to fill in the scratches or make them invisible, it becomes necessary to apply a considerably thick layer of repair paint, which results in the need to use more paint than necessary, which is not only economically undesirable but also Furthermore, sagging and the like are likely to occur, impairing the appearance of the coating film. The appropriate amount of the aluminum silicate mineral powder used is 85 to 9% by weight in the abrasive.

In the present invention, since only water is required, work can be carried out in a favorable environment. After washing, any water remaining on the car body can be removed in a short time by blowing pressurized air, spraying a small amount of solvent, or wiping with a cloth impregnated with solvent.
