である。

を保持するも3のであるが、この下型3は丸中子2と一
体を成す砂型でもよく、又図の如く丸中子2と分離した
金型であっても差支えないものである。上記の主型1と
丸中子2及び下型3を組合せた場合に形成される中空部
に湯道5から溶湯が注入されて金属シール4が鋳造され
るものである。前記した如く溶湯は湯道5を経由して鋳
型内で金属シール4を成型するのであるが、その場合溶
湯は冷却硬化と共に収縮するが、その収縮は金属シール
4の中心方向に向ってのものとなるので、丸中子2を圧
縮しながらの収縮となるのである。

によっていた。しかしくびれ部の成型に砂型を使用する
場合はこの金属シールの外面は精度、外観とも優れたも
のが要求されるので、それに適応した高価なシェルモー
ルド砂型を1回毎に新しく使用するために高価なものと
なり、また機械加工による場合は、この金属シールの材
質が特殊鋳鉄である関係上、鏡放し硬化がHRC60前
後と非常に硬いので容易でない難点があった。本発明は
従来のこの金属シール製造上の難点を解決するもので、
而かも長期間反復使用し得る金型等の耐久型を使用する
のでコスト安ともなり、且つ外観上も美麗な金属シール
を提供することになるものである。
