である。However, in copper products that have been surface-treated using this method, when the clear layer containing patina powder peels off at the end of its life, the copper surface (copper base without patina) appears, which is extremely unsightly. There was a drawback.
The surface treatment method for copper products of the present invention is a method invented in view of the above points, that is, after forming a suboxide steel film on the copper surface of a copper-made or copper-plated material, ,
, is a surface treatment method for steel products characterized by coating with a clear coating containing verdigris powder, and is a method that eliminates the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks.

弊害を生じて好ましくはない。Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail based on examples. The copper surface of a copper-made or copper-plated material is roughened mechanically with sandpaper, etc., or chemically with dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, etc. (in the surface treatment method for copper products of the present invention, , there is no problem even if this step is omitted), then apply an aqueous solution of steel sulfate or an aqueous solution of copper sulfate and salt (the copper surface may be immersed in a forgery or this solution). At this time, a suboxide steel film is formed on the copper surface of the material and is activated so that patina is likely to occur. After that, a clear (e.g., acrylic resin clear, urethane resin clear, polyester resin clear, etc.) mixed with verdigris powder (e.g., powdered basic sulfate steel, basic carbonate steel, etc.) is applied over the suboxide steel coating on the steel surface of the material. This is a method of painting (coating, spraying, or immersing this clear in a solution). In copper products surface-treated by this method, even if the clear layer containing patina powder ages and peels off, an activated box oxidized steel film appears, patina develops extremely quickly, and the copper base appears. The surface of the steel product is almost always covered and protected by a patina layer (including a clear layer containing verdigris powder) and does not become unsightly. In addition, in the surface treatment method for steel products of the present invention, when forming a lightly oxidized steel film on the copper surface of the material, for example, a mixed aqueous solution containing sulfuric acid steel and acetic acid may be applied. If an aqueous solution is used, the odor is strong due to acetic acid, and impurities other than suboxide steel are generated, resulting in uneven production of suboxide steel, resulting in uneven patina formation and yellowing of the patina surface. This is not preferable because it imparts a bad taste and causes problems such as poor adhesion between the steel surface and the patina layer, making it easy to peel off.
