It is composed of a paper core and paper, cloth, leather, etc. attached to it. By the way, book buyers like this kind of hardbound book because it has a high-class, luxurious appearance and feel, but binding a hardbound book requires the corresponding materials and a lot of time and effort. The reality is that it is necessary and has no choice but to be quite expensive.

Currently, efforts are being made to create books that give the impression of being high-class books, while keeping the appearance of the books to a minimum.

い。This book with a cover made of synthetic resin board is a useful proposal for reducing the cost of binding without compromising the appearance of the top-bound book, but various improvements are needed before it can be put into practical use and popularized. The present invention is one of the improvements to books having covers made of synthetic resin boards, and the present invention aims to improve the effectiveness in bookbinding when conventional covers made of synthetic resin boards are used. One of its features is that it can omit the foil stamping that would be required on the cover even if a cover made of synthetic resin board was used, without causing any damage. One of the advantages is that it provides a book in which the printing such as letters and figures on the cover is completely free from disappearing or staining due to friction or other causes. It is also characterized by the fact that it is possible to add and retain a variety of colors, or free patterns, figures, etc., to the cover. As mentioned above, although the previously proposed covers made of synthetic resin plates contribute to the simplification of the process necessary for making covers and the associated reduction in bookbinding costs, they are still extremely important for books. There is no excuse for not having the title 0chi foil stamped on the cover, which occupies a special position.

の実施の一例を添附図面によって詳細に説明する。Therefore, even if the cover is made of a synthetic resin board, the cover must be stamped with foil, and the labor and cost for foil stamping are so large that they cannot be ignored. The risk of staining or erasing the foil stamping by touching the foil stamped surface with one's hands cannot be eliminated. For this purpose, the present inventor adopted a cover made of a synthetic resin board, and added letters, patterns, figures, etc. to this cover, thereby eliminating the need for labor for foil stamping. This simplifies the manufacture of the cover, thereby reducing the cost of binding, and the added characters, patterns, figures, etc. are made with care, so there is no risk of staining or disappearing, and the appearance is extremely elegant. As a result of intensive studies in order to obtain a book with a high quality, we decided to form the front cover, back cover and/or spine to which the endpaper is attached from a transparent synthetic resin board, and to attach the front and back covers to which the endpaper is attached. Desired characters, patterns, etc. are printed on the backing side that is directly attached to the back cover of the facing and/or spine, and the endpaper and/or back cover are printed with desired characters, patterns, etc.
Or by attaching or supporting the back cover to the front and back covers and/or spine to which the endpaper is attached, the printing of characters, patterns, etc. on the endpaper or back paper can be recognized through the cover. We have obtained a book that has been able to achieve its purpose by being made possible. An example of implementation of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The front cover 3, the back cover 4, and the spine 5 are formed from a single transparent synthetic resin plate and are bent into a desired shape.

This applies to the front cover 3 and back cover 4, but in the case of the spine 5, desired characters, etc. may be printed in advance on the spine 7 that comes into contact with the spine 5. In this case, of course, a backing paper should be used that can be seen through and recognized from the outside, and if the desired characters are added on the conventional backing paper, If the paper on which the desired characters, etc. are printed is superimposed and used as the spine, the paper on which the desired characters, etc. are printed is called the spine.

。In the above explanation, the cover and endpaper are attached using adhesive, but this is not limited to attachment using a connecting agent, and of course they may be combined by other suitable means. It is. In addition, it has been explained that the front cover 3, the back cover 4, and the spine 5 are integrally formed of a transparent synthetic resin plate.
It is not necessary for each of them to be completely transparent, and for surfaces that do not require characters, patterns, figures, etc. to pass through and be recognized by the outside, they may be made of a synthetic resin plate made of opaque material, or made of transparent synthetic material. You may use any appropriate means such as embossing or graining the resin plate to make it opaque.
Furthermore, on the front cover, back cover, back cover, etc., only the portion 11 through which characters, patterns, etc. can be transmitted may be made transparent.

Furthermore, the front cover, back cover, spine, etc. may not be formed integrally; for example, the spine of a book may be soft and opaque, or one portion may be opaque; To further improve the product, for example, use transparent synthetic resin plates for the front and back covers, and use a soft, opaque synthetic resin plate for the back cover, and then join them together to form a single piece. To achieve this purpose, it is preferable that the front and back covers and the back cover are joined covers, an example of which is shown in FIG.

A cover 13 is provided on the spine 5, and the front cover 3 and back cover 4, which are transparent synthetic resin plates, are integrated at both ends of the spine 5 by adhesive or other appropriate means. As a result, the appearance is not different from that of a hardbound book, and the feel of the back is soft, similar to that of a double bound hardcover book, and it also withstands the repeated opening and closing of the cover, further enhancing the hinge effect. In addition, the cheesecloth inside the back and the areas near the throat on the front and back are not visible to the outside, and if necessary, the book title and author's name can be seen through the back, resulting in a book with a good overall appearance. It is something that can be done.

It's good, and there are no strict limitations. Therefore, the synthetic resin that is the material for the synthetic resin plate of the cover in the present invention should be appropriately determined from the above-mentioned viewpoints. As explained in detail above, in the present invention, the book as a whole has the appearance of a hardbound book and a high-quality book, and the cover is made of a synthetic resin board for the purpose of simplifying bookbinding and reducing the cost of bookbinding. Even when it is adopted, it does not require foil stamping, which is the same as with conventional bookbinding.
It is possible to directly add symbols, patterns, figures, etc. to books, and when adding these characters, patterns, figures, etc. directly, all you have to do is print them on the endpapers, spines, etc. in advance. Because foil stamping requires effort,
At the same time, there is no need for additional costs, and since all that is required is to print on the endpapers, spines, etc., and then go through the normal bookbinding process using synthetic resin plates, the binding efficiency is greatly improved and the cost of binding is significantly reduced. This means that it has been reduced.

This simplifies the bookbinding process, which in turn reduces the cost of binding, and also eliminates the need for foil stamping, which always requires lines when compared to books. Because we were able to do this, we were able to simplify bookbinding and reduce the cost of bookbinding without sacrificing the effectiveness of using a synthetic resin board cover.
This further strengthens the practicality of books made of synthetic resin plates, and the foil stamping on the covers made of synthetic resin plates does not easily fall off or disappear due to handrails or friction when carrying books. However, with the present invention, such restrictions are no longer present. In addition, as seen in the past, there are also products with printing applied to the surface of paper, cloth, and synthetic resin boards, but even in these cases, a polypropylene or vinyl chloride film is pasted to protect the surface printing. However, with the present invention, there is no need to take such matters into consideration at all, and the characters, patterns, etc. added to the book are not subject to disappearance at all, and their robustness is like no other. Furthermore, when used by appropriately changing the color of the endpaper or backing paper, the color of printed letters, patterns, figures, etc., and the color of the surface of the transparent synthetic resin board, the color effect is excellent. In addition, when the endpapers and spines are printed with partially different colors for letters, patterns, figures, etc., it can be a book that has an advertising effect by itself. The advantage of being able to recognize characters, patterns, figures, etc. printed on the endpapers, endpapers, and spine through the cover is not limited to this, and it is an epoch-making invention that has numerous features and effects.
