Generally, for marking rubber balls, a color marking method using ink or ink, and a stamping method using a stamp engraved on the surface of a mold are often used.
.. Color marking methods include printing directly on the surface of unvulcanized rubber, pasting a rubber transfer mark on the surface of an unvulcanized ball and then curing it, or printing on the surface of a vulcanized rubber pole. Ink spray marking using transfer marks, printing or masking is already being done.

In addition, a pattern with arbitrary marks such as letters and designs formed on a flexible vulcanized rubber plate is placed in the required hole in the rubber ball mold, and the unvulcanized rubber sphere is placed inside the mold. There is also a known method of expressing a pattern on the surface of the rubber ball by taking out the rubber ball after vulcanizing it and peeling off the pattern attached to the surface. Marking with ink makes it possible to make colorful marks using colors and to express delicate lines and marks, but the mark itself has a relatively short lifespan and has the disadvantage that it disappears as the ball surface wears down.

On the other hand, in the marking method by engraving, uneven characters or marks are engraved in advance on the inner surface of a ball curing mold, and this mold is used to vulcanize the rubber ball. The convex engraved portion on the inner surface of the mold becomes a concave letter or mark on the surface of the product ball, making it possible to make a durable mark that will not disappear even with some rubber abrasion. In addition, the one that uses a vulcanized rubber plate and peels off the rubber ball after heating has the disadvantage that the pattern is deeply engraved and the position of the pattern relative to the navel for air injection cannot be determined, so it has not been put into practical use. do not have.

However, this method has the following drawbacks. [I] When stamping different characters or marks, or when stamping the same type of characters or marks in different positions on the ball, separate molds must be prepared accordingly, which increases costs. becomes.

In particular, when the surface of the mold is plated, accidents frequently occur during the subsequent buffing process, and when balls are manufactured using such a mold, the letters and marks are naturally incomplete and difficult to read. As a result, the commercial value decreases. Vulcanization of rubber balls is usually carried out by placing two molds with hemispherical recesses on top of each other and placing the ball into the spherical space inside the molds, but there are traces of the vulcanization on the ball surface corresponding to the mold joining line. It remains in a linear shape, and if an engraved part such as a character or mark overlaps this trace part, the character or mark becomes difficult to read.

The present invention was made to solve these problems, and by preparing the necessary types of inexpensive stamping plates, it is possible to make many kinds of stamps with the same Ball Karo sulfur mold. . Embodiments of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. In Figures 1 and 2, numeral 1 is the marking plate, which is generally made of a thin metal piece, but depending on the size of the mark, the position of the mark, the shape of the characters, etc., it may be made of heat-resistant non-metallic material such as photosensitive resin. An engraved plate may also be used. The character portion of the stamping plate is formed in a convex or concave shape, and the character is engraved with the reverse side to form a concave and convex surface 8 so that the character appears normal when it appears on the ball surface.

Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the stamping plate 1 is placed together with the unvulcanized rubber balls 3 into the ball vulcanizing molds 5 and 6. After that, when compressed air is sent into the unvulcanized rubber ball 3 through the air injection fitting 2, the unvulcanized rubber ball 3 is pressed against the inner surface of the ball caro die molds 5 and 6 and heated to form a product. This becomes ball 3a. At the same time as the vulcanization process, hair unevenness 8 consisting of characters, figures, symbols, etc. of the stamping plate 1 can be placed on the surface of the ball 3a as stamped characters 7. After the ball is vulcanized, the ball is taken out from the vulcanizing molds 5 and 6, and the stamping plate 1 is removed together with the air injection fitting 2, so that stamped characters, etc. 7 are clearly formed on the ball surface. The stamping plate 1 can be used repeatedly when vulcanizing the next ball. In the conventional marking method, since the marking process is performed directly on the ball curing mold, a special mold is used for a specific mark, and it is necessary to manufacture a special mold for each different mark. In the marking method according to the present invention, another mark can be made by simply replacing the marking plate 1 with the same ball shaping mold 5.
, 6, and the stamping plate can be easily processed by using a thin metal plate, which is very economical.

In particular, the present invention, which uses an engraved plate, is useful for balls that have the same main mark but different product numbers, internal pressure indications, etc. In addition, when polishing the mold surface to a mirror finish by buffing, etc., the engraving plate is removed, so there is no risk of damage to the uneven letters, marks, etc. that occur in the past, improving the life of the mold and simplifying the polishing work. can be achieved at the same time.

In particular, a stamping plate with fine letters formed in a concave and convex shape is highly likely to have its convex corners chipped or damaged as it is repeatedly used. However, since this marking plate can be manufactured at a low cost, in the event of such an accident, it is only necessary to replace it, and the cost can be kept low compared to the case where the entire mold is replaced as in the case of a secondary kettle. Furthermore, in the conventional example, when a stamp is formed around the air inlet, since the Ball Calo sulfur mold is divided into two hemispherical parts, the stamp part is also divided into two.

Normally, traces are left on the ball surface corresponding to the mold joining line, which causes letters, marks, etc. to become unclear, but according to the present invention, this engraved part becomes a continuous surface. Therefore, there is no risk of being adversely affected by such traces. In addition, the carved mark is divided into two parts like a subordinate,
Although it was impossible to form continuous letters or circles,
According to the present invention, by using the stamping plate, continuous characters and figures can be easily created even at the joint portion of the ball curing mold. The engraving plate can be easily obtained by sandwiching a metal piece with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.2 h/m between an uneven engraving mold and pressing it. A center hole is made in the center of the marking plate through which the air injection fitting passes, and by passing the air injection fitting through the hole, marking characters can be accurately placed around the valve opening of the ball.

As described above, the method for marking rubber balls according to the present invention is to form a thin stamp with diamond-like protrusions 8 such as letters on the air injection fitting 2 attached to the unvulcanized rubber ball 3 during the rubber ball manufacturing process. The unvulcanized rubber ball is vulcanized with the plate 1 in contact with the inner surface of the ball vulcanization molds 5 and 6, and the area around the air injection port of the vulcanized rubber ball is cured. It is designed to form engraved characters 7 on the surface.

The marking plate may be a thin metal piece, or may be a non-metallic plate made of photosensitive resin or other heat-resistant resin that allows phototetching. This makes it possible to inexpensively manufacture a wide variety of balls in small quantities using one mold.
