Even if toner, dust, etc. adhere to the toner concentration detection element that automatically supplies toner to the developing section according to the amount of time, it is automatically removed to ensure accurate density detection at all times. This is the purpose.

The toner concentration detection element 21 described above is constructed by integrally molding a light emitting element 22a and a light receiving element 22b for receiving reflected light with resin or the like, and is attached to the support member 3. The paper guide plate 23, which is attached integrally or separately to the support member 3, has a portion at a corresponding position so that the toner concentration detection element 21 faces the photosensitive drum 1 and does not interfere with light irradiation and reflected light reception. 24 is formed. A cleaning plate 25 is provided with a cleaning member 26 made of a buff, cloth, sponge, etc., which contacts the toner concentration detection element 21 and cleans the light emitting element 22a and the light receiving element 22b when sliding. It passes through the hole 27 and is fixed to the slide member 8.

This configuration also prevents light diffusion when the light emitting element is irradiated with light. Then, by sliding the cleaning plate 25, the light emitting and light receiving elements are cleaned of toner stains and the like by the cleaning member 26, as shown in FIG. 4B. Next, the handling procedure of this embodiment will be explained. In the copying operation state, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the engaging member 13 is located and locked in the first engaging portion 15a of the holding member 14, and the chargers 6 and 7 are in the operating position. be. Here, if you want to inspect the inside of the copying machine, or if a paper jam occurs near the photosensitive drum and you want to remove it, open the cover (not shown) of the copying machine main body, and put your hand on the handle 12. and pull it in the direction of arrow A.

Further, since the cleaning plate 25 is also slid as the slide member 8 moves, the cleaning plate 26 is moved over the light emitting element 22a as shown in FIG. 4b.
and the light receiving element 22b are brought into sliding contact.

。When the handle portion 12 is lowered in this state, the support member 3, together with the chargers 6 and 7, the slide member 8, and the engagement member 13, is rotated about the pin 5 as a fulcrum as shown by the chain line in FIG. The member 13 is attached to the green portion 1 of the holding member as shown by arrow B.

There is no need to forcefully push down the handle 12 because it moves downward in proportion to the weight of the handle 7 and the slide section 8. Even if you release your hand from the handle portion 12 in the above state, the downward movement state is maintained. Therefore, the chargers 6 and 7 are held in the non-operating position, and the distance from the photosensitive drum 1 increases as the distance approaches the handle portion 12. This makes it easy to inspect the vicinity of the photosensitive drum and remove paper jams. To return it to its original position, it is sufficient to simply lift the handle portion 12.

It is brought to the first engaging portion 15a by a tensile force of 0, and as shown in FIG. 2, the chargers 6 and 7 are locked in the operating position. At this time as well, the cleaning plate 25 moves to its original position as shown in FIG. 4a as the slide member 8 returns, so that the cleaning member 26 again comes into sliding contact with the light-emitting and light-receiving elements 22a and 22b and cleans them. become.

Since the cleaning member can automatically clean the parts by following the actions of increasing the distance between them or returning them to their original state, performance deterioration due to dirt can be prevented.
