Description
【発明の詳細な説明】
本発明は、固定電極とこの固定電極と誘電体層を介して
対向する弾性シート状の可変電極とを有し、両電極間に
静電力が作用する吸引状態を可変電極自身の弾性により
開かれた復帰状態の二状態を電気的に選択して切換表示

において固定電極が完全にマスクされるような態様で用
いられていた。本発明は、固定電極に対し可変電極を形
状又はその取付位置を変化させて吸弓l)状態において
所定の形状を表示する静電式表示装置の提供を目的とし

外囲部材11は、アルミニウム板等の誘電材料より成り
、底面部12から表示方向、即ち前方へ折れ曲つて左右
両側部13,14が形成された全体として溝形をしてお
り、さらに詳述すると、両側部はそれぞれBB′点とC
C′点で折曲してBB′点で内面に凸の稜線を形成して
いる。この溝形外園部材11の底部内には、下側挟持部
材15、上側挟持部村16の間には、厚さ8ミクロン程
度の高分子材料シートの両面にアルミニウム等の誘電性
を有し且つ光反射率が高い金属材料を蒸着して成る可変
電極17の中央支持部が挟持され、可変電極17の左右
両翼の可動部18,19は円弧状に湾曲して前方へ伸び
ている。上側挟持部材16の前方にはアルミニウム等の
導電材料より成る円筒形の固定電極20が取付けられ、
この固定電極20の表面は予め赤、緑、黄など所望の塗
装膜21が形成されて、これが電極間の介在する議電体

極側表面又は上記可変電極の上記固定電極側表面のいず
れか一方又は双方に設けられた誘電体の薄膜と、上記固
定電極と上記可変電極の間に電圧を印加するためのリー
ド線を有し、上記電圧の印加によつて上記可変電極が可
変電極自体の弾性に抗して上記固定電極の表面に静電的
に吸引されて密着しそれによつてこの装置の外観が明瞭
に変化するように構成された静電式表示装置において、
1個の固定電極の左右両側に一対の可変電極を設け、そ
の可変電極の少くとも一部分は、吸引状態において両先
端間に明瞭な間隔をもつように円周方向長さが短く形成
され、可変電極の吸引状態において固定電極表示部分が
所定の形状を表示するよう構成された静電式表示装置。1.
