When connecting two steel columns by on-site welding, it is necessary to temporarily fasten both steel columns. Therefore, in the past, cassette plates were welded to both sides of the upper end of the flange of the lower column and to both sides of the lower end of the flange of the upper column, and after the columns were connected, both cassette plates were welded to the connecting plate. The upper column was temporarily fixed to the lower column by connecting it with bolts. After temporary fixing, an end tab was welded to the flange in the opposing gap of the cassette plate, and a backing material was used to build up the root spacing between the upper and lower columns and welding was performed. However, according to the connection structure of this column, the size and pitch of the bolts are fixed, so
The cassette plates and connecting plates are large, which requires a large amount of steel, and sometimes the cassette plates have to be cut after they are connected, resulting in high costs and time-consuming connection work. In addition, since the bolts are used for attachment, the temporary fixing work is troublesome, and in addition, the end tabs must be welded, making the work of connecting the columns even more complicated, which poses a problem in terms of work efficiency. The purpose of the present invention is to simplify and speed up the work of connecting columns;
An object of the present invention is to provide a column-to-column connection unit that can reduce the amount of steel material.

以下本発明の一実施例を図面に基ついて説明する。An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

The lower surface of the connecting member 5 is joined to the upper surface of the first connecting member 4, and the protrusion 10 provided at the outer end of the lower surface of the connecting member 5 (the left end in FIG. 2) engages with the engagement recess 7. and both connecting members 4
, 5 are being positioned. Further, the inner lower surface of the connecting member 5 faces the inner upper surface of the first connecting member 4 with a constant gap 11 therebetween, and this gap has approximately the same width as the root interval 3 and is continuous with this interval. The second connecting member 5 is provided with an end tab 8 of the first connecting member 4 across this gap 11.
An end tab 12 is provided to protrude forward at a position opposite to. By means of these end tabs 8 and 12, the flange 1a
, 2a changes, welding with a root spacing of 3 is possible. The area from the end tab 12 to the lower surface of the connecting member 5 is inclined, and the inclined surface 13 is the groove surface 2 of the flange 2.
The inclination angles of b are the same. Further, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 5, a connecting member 14 is fitted into the step portions 6 and 9 from the outside on the outer side of the first connecting member 4 and the second connecting member 5, and
The joint between both connecting members is fixed.

Next, we will explain the pillar connection work. As shown in FIG. 1, the upper column 2 is hoisted onto the lower column 1 by a crane or the like, erected, the second coupling members 5 and 5a are joined to the first coupling members 4 and 4a, respectively, and the engagement recesses are formed. The upper pillar is positioned by engaging the protrusions 10, 10a in the inner parts 7, 7aa.

Then, the connecting members 14 and 14a are respectively fitted to the outer peripheries of the connecting members 4 and 5, 4a and 5a which are in a joined state, and the joint is fixed. As a result, columns 1 and 2 are temporarily fixed. A backing material 16 is then welded to the back of the flange 2a to cover the root spacing 3 and the back of the gaps 11, 11a. And from this one gap 11 to the root gap 3,
Furthermore, welding is performed sequentially up to the other gap 11a, and the columns 1 and 2 are welded together. As explained above, according to the present invention, since bolts are not used as the connection structure unlike in the past, the amount of steel material can be reduced, and the connection work can be made simple and quick.
