ルに正規の巻取り方向とは逆向きにホースが巻取られる
場合がある。 ところで、この種のホースは、リールの
頂部に一端が固定されホース巻取り方向の円周接線に臨
む形状のホース接続管に接続されているので、上記のよ
うにホースがリールの過度の回転によつて逆向きに巻取
られる状態になると、ホース接続管に対するホースの接
続始端部に逆方向の力が作用して該ホース接続始端部が
損傷或いは破損するという欠点があつた。

度の回転を停止させるために作業員を要するという作業
性の問題と駆動装置に故障を来たす原因にもなつて好ま
しいものではなく、一方後者の方法は保護筒の嵌着によ
つてホースの可撓性が悪くなると共に保護筒の耐久性に
も問題があつた。
