近年、自動車等においては、その軽量化のために、サン
ルーフ、フエンダー、ノーズパネル、バンパー等に有機
材料が使用される傾向にある。これら有機材料部品は、
最終的には、鉄系材料又は他の金属材料で製作される車
体に組付けられるため、車体の塗装にマッチした色彩で
塗装せねばならない。一般に、車体等の金属部品には、
塗膜形成樹脂と顔料の混合物に硬化剤を添加して形成し
た高温硬化性の塗料を用い、塗布後に該部品を加熱して
塗料被膜を硬化させる塗装方法が採用されている。しか
し、有機材料部品は、塗料被膜を硬化させるためのこの
加熱処理に耐えることができないので、塗料は、金属部
品に用いられているものとは異なるものを調整して用い
ている。(特開昭52−145443号公報参照)すな
わち、塗膜形成樹脂と硬化剤とを、低温硬化性塗料の形
成にとつて望ましいものから選定し、これにカラーマッ
チングのできる顔料を加えるものであるが、塗膜形成ノ
樹脂自体の色が、金属部品用の塗料の場合と異ること、
顔料の調整及び分散度の差による色変りが大きいことな
どの理由から、カラーマッチングはきわめて困難であつ
た。本発明は、このような従来の塗装方法におけるク問
題を解決し、カラーマッチングの容易な塗装方法を提供
することを目的とするもので、その特徴とするところは
、塗料形成樹脂と顔料を含む塗料ペーストを用意し、同
一の塗料ペーストから、一部にはメラミン樹脂系硬化剤
を添加して高温硬化型塗料を形成し、他の一部にはイソ
シアネート系硬化剤を添加して低温硬化型塗料を形成し
、高温硬化型塗料を金属部品に塗布して加熱硬化させ、
低温硬化型塗料を有機材料部品に塗布して乾燥させるこ
とにより塗膜を形成することにある。

ー塗布工程8を経て、上塗工程9及び焼付工程10によ
り塗装被膜が形成される。塗料タンク11,12,13
,14にはそれぞれ異つた塗料ペーストが入れ5られて
おり、各塗料ペーストは塗膜形成樹脂と顔料とから形成
される。塗料タンクのうちの一つ、たとえばタンク14
は顔料を含まないメタリック塗装用のクリアーを入れて
もよい。硬化剤タンク15にはメラミン樹脂系の硬化剤
が、また硬化剤杢タンク16にはイソシアネート系硬化
剤がそれぞれ入れられている。塗料タンク11,12,
13,14は、共に多液自動計量機17,18に接続さ
れ、硬化剤タンク15は計量機17に、硬化剤タンク1
6は計量2機18にそれぞれ接続されている。

000の油変性アルキッド樹脂又は数平均分子量130

部品を別々に塗装しカラーマッチングできるようにした
塗装方法において、塗膜形成樹脂と顔料を含む塗料ペー
ストを用意し、この用意した塗料ペーストの一部を取出
してこれにメラミン樹脂系硬化剤を添加して高温硬化型
塗料を形成して、この塗料を前記金属部品に塗布したの
ち加熱硬化させて塗膜を形成すると共に、前記塗料ペー
ストから別途取出した材料にイソシアネート系硬化剤を
添加して低温硬化型塗料を形成して、この塗料を前記有
機材料系部品に塗布したのち乾燥させて塗膜を形成する
ことを特徴とするカラーマッチング容易な塗装方法。 2 前記第1項の方法において、前記金属部品と有機材
料部品とは、並行してほぼ同時に塗装されるようにした
塗装方法。 3 前記第1項又は第2項の方法において、前記塗料ペ
ースト中の塗膜形成樹脂が、数平均分子量1500ない
し2000の油変性アルキッド樹脂である塗装方法。 4 前記第1項又は第2項の方法において、前記塗料ペ
ースト中の塗膜形成樹脂が、数平均分子量13000な
いし20000のアクリル共重合樹脂である塗装方法。
