然落下する。逆止弁7はスチームないし沸とうした水が
タンク6内に逆流するのを防ぐ。このようにしてボイラ
ー10は一種の気泡ポンプとして作用し、水を送出管1
2aに送り出すことで負圧になればタンク10から水が
落ち、順次この動作を連続して気化室3へ安定して給水
される。アイロン使用途中で、いわゆるヒールレストと
いわれる状態、すなわちアイロンの後部を下にして自立
させた場合、水が逆流して溜り部13に入るが、この際
、水ないしはスチームの圧力により弁体13bが押され
、スリット13aを閉じて水ないしスチームが流出しな
いように配慮されている。管12はたとえば耐熱性のプ
ラスチックチューブが採用され、また把手5内に納める
ことで、外観の体裁をよくした。以上のように本発明に
よれば、純滴下式のスチームアイロンにおいて、スチー
ム噴出孔から水ないし湯が噴出するという欠点がなく、
しかも構造は簡単でよく所期の目的を達成し得る。
